  1. Looks very cool - cannot wait to give it a go (hope I can get it running under Wine on my Mac ) - and look forward to games made using it! sTeVE
  2. The unreleased Tomec cart?games To be honest it's long overdue on the A8 to have a cart with this kind of facility :-) sTeVE
  3. Awesome - thanks for the update - love this emulator, use it a lot on my Mac! One question -are you aware of an issue with the Caverns of Mars (XL Conversion by Classics) rom - there are 8 black dashes across the screen, this is present in the previous version of the emulator too. The same Rom does into show this visual issue under OpenEmu. sTeVE
  4. Having completed it a few times - the "replayabity" is the perfection of the subsequent play-throughs - from a gazillion deaths to none :-) sTeVE
  5. Good grief Sam’s Journey looks AWESOME, wow very NES on a C64!!! sTeVE Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I do like the Atari800 interface - nice and simple and standard across all platforms... I have Altirra as an app setup under wine with XEX, ATR etc all associated with it, so just double click a file and off it goes - so it’s pretty seamless even for a non native application. I will give compiling Atari800 a go too - always good to have options! One good thing about RetroArch now having an Atari800 core is that I can play games on my Sony (Android) TV without any extra hardware cluttering up the sitting room [emoji38] sTeVE Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Thanks Mr Robot - I am not familiar with homebrew I will take a look. Altirra under wine is no different from the windows version - so easy to use and configure, but distinctly windows and very much not OS X 😔
  8. I am a bit of a Limbo fan - I have to admit... Finished it on four different platforms 😁 I think there is a lot of value in seeing and appreciating the great work happening on the A8s contemporaries. Although I have to say the A8 is not short of good new games, Bosconian is BRILLIANT and the recent Skool Daze port is amazing! sTeVE
  9. I could see an awesome A8 version - wide screen in Antic E with PMG for foreground objects and the main character and everything else in S/W sprites maybe? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Just stop it - you are behaving like a d!ck.. What on Earth do you mean “Now I understand , we all should feel driven to say "how cool a new game for JetBoot Jack's old computer" - you have read nothing I wrote.. You do nothing constructive unless you start these type of conversations you just flame the threads until they become filled with rubbish... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. No - keep it here it’s meant to be here. It’s NOT about limbo on the C64, it’s about new games on old hardware, and I meant to spark discussion of the potential on the A8 to do such. The C64 has seen a number of modern games on that platform - Canabalt, Hexagon etc Worth a discussion in the very least IMHO... sTeVE Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. That was the whole point [emoji13] I posted it as inspiration and you started berating me for doing so - moaning it should be posted on a C64 forum and not here - you are the one confusing things. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. So I should not post about C64 games, or anything but Atari here and then you say it’s a must have for an Atari - I am confused. Why must you argue? Or are you being obtuse? It was posted as something inspirational, something interesting for a contemporary platform of the Atari... sTeVE Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. And? I thought it quite cool that a 2010 hit game was being ported to a slow, old, 6502 based system... If you’re not interested, move on... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Bloody hell you are all a bunch of curmudgeons - lighten up, if this idea is not for you move on... Otherwise think “how cool” a new game for my old computer :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. The author is a member of the original development team - he’s busy making new games and doing this “official” conversion in his spare time.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Where does one pickup a version of Atari800 compiled for OSX I use the win32 sdl version under wine, which works fine for the most part (apart from not playing nice with the touch bar on my MBP). sTeVE
  18. Rather inspiring to see... https://kotaku.com/limbo-could-become-the-commodore-64s-best-game-1821554957 sTeVE
  19. RetroArch now has an atari800 core that on Mac has audio under High Sierra... https://www.libretro.com/index.php/atari800-core-improvements/ It does not work as the standalone emulator - per game configuration and os selection is thru the retroarch interface (and more limited than the old standalone emulator) not the emulator interface (which exists but is not properly functional in some odd ways) but I have had success with all the game ATR files I have thrown at it... sTeVE
  20. Some very nice new backdrops and a few tweakable parameters, the new art does look nice (for a C64)... http://www.indieretronews.com/2017/12/international-karate-ultimate-released.html sTeVE
  21. Just stunning, an awesome piece of work... Cannot wait to play the final game... sTeVE
  22. This sounds very interesting - put me on the "when can I buy one" list... sTeVE
  23. WellIi have had success with jzintv - screen quality and audio all good - I am running on a new machine, a Razer Blade Laptop and it's workign well, mostly... But I am back to the problem that some games don't run automagically - Demon Attack, Defender etc... So one step forward and a half step back :-) So time to dig into those cfg files I think... sTeVE
  24. I totally recommend FlashJazzCat - his work is superb, my 1200XL is a delight post surgery! sTeVE
  25. I've been using Asperite for a few years - not for A8 work admittedly - it's a superb bit of software, 100% recommended tool - combined with the simple but efficient tiled for an easy to use setup... sTeVE
