Pretty much a good example of why I haven't bought any games for my GC system. I'm just not into the fruity games.

How much? If it's $20 or less, I'd venture a guess and say that the overall quality of the casing will be lacking.

Sega Turbo Mini Arcade for sale/trade...
Adrian M replied to Cassidy Nolen's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Is this a pick-up item only or can shipping of some sort be arrranged? -
The Metal Slug games (of which I personally am collecting the MVS versions of!) are not "shooters"....they resemble side scrolling classics like Contra more than anything else. Great games, though on the Neo CD only MS1 and MS2 exist. Viewpoint is one of the Neo's toughest games...Pulstar comes close, but I still to this day cannot finish Viewpoint (with the exception of that horrible Genesis port). Since you have the Neo CD, you can also pick up a rare shooter that was only released in CD format providing you want to spend the $$$. It's called Iron Clad (or B'rikringer) and is a WW2 themed horizontal shooter. I've never played it since I don't have a NeoCD, but it looks like a great game!

If you're looking at a 1984 era game, I'll be the first to tell you that it won't be Jamma compatible. The Jamma standard came about around 1987-1988. Prior to that, game developers all had their own standard pin outs. Go to www.quarterarcade.com and do some research before getting too far ahead of yourself. Convertor edges do exist for some game to make them Jamma connector compatible, so all is not lost.

I'm more impressed with Capcom's coin-op library with a few exceptions. My favorites: 1. Street Fighter II (arcade) 2. Final Fight (arcade) 3. Bionic Commando (NES) 4. Ghouls N Ghosts (arcade) 5. Commando (arcade) I know you only asked for 5, but I have too many favorites... 6. Ghosts N Goblins (arcade) 7. Tiger Road (arcade---so tough, but so rewarding!) 8. 1941 (arcade) 9. Strider (Genesis) 10. Vulgus (arcade)

Look here: http://www.gamechoice.com.hk/search.asp?su...category=Saturn There were Saturn variants from makers like Hitachi and Victor (aka JVC) in addition to the numerous limited and special edition systems from Sega themselves.

Try Pulstar for your NeoCD. It's basically RTYPE for the Neo....right down to the level designs and difficulty. Other Neo horizontal shooters to check out....Blazing Star, Andro Dunos, Zed Blade, and Last Resort. They vary in quality, but are fun to play nonetheless.

Flaming Rant about Doom 3 & Microsoft - Conspiracy Insid
Adrian M replied to Blackjack's topic in Modern Console Discussion
XP has been literally perfect for me. It's much faster (games run better, startup, shutdown times are faster) and better still, it just plain works! And that, friends, is how it ought to be! -
Halo 2 Metal Cases - on display at stores!
Adrian M replied to Adrian M's topic in Modern Console Discussion
My personal experience is that the software industry in general is headed towards the licensing model anyways. Can't really fault Microsoft for doing that with Windows! -

Halo 2 Metal Cases - on display at stores!
Adrian M replied to Adrian M's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Yes, but it's a metal case, not just any box! And....you get a "Making of" dvd with it! Microsoft loves us! -
Yawn.

Halo 2 Metal Cases - on display at stores!
Adrian M replied to Adrian M's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Well, it's the longest thread I've seen anywhere about a damned storage box, at least. God forbid Microsoft and Bungie go out of their way to offer their fans a cool little collectable. If it were Nintendo offering a LE metal case for their upcoming Zelda game, everyone here would be all over it. -
From what I recall, this is a US edition of the WonderMega system that JVC released in Japan. Apparently Sega and JVC had some sort of agreement in place to allow clones to be developed (with additional features like S-Video output, Karaoke, etc) and sold in higher end stores. The trend continues today...the Sega Saturn in particular had many different versions and even the Gamecube today has that DVD-enabled Panasonic clone available.

Halo 2 Metal Cases - on display at stores!

Last I checked, the previous Doom games did not allow you full 360 degree 3D movement. By your logic, Doom3 is more of a successor to Quake's style of gameplay. -
Computer Space: Anyone played it?
Adrian M replied to mrgameandwatch's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I've played a few vintage coin-op games, but I'd like to play (or see) one of these Computer Space cabs sometime in my lifetime. -
Arcade game T-shirts (Klax, Gauntlet...)
Adrian M replied to tyranthraxus's topic in Arcade and Pinball
Roadblasters had a T-shirt offer to those who could finish the game. You can enable the splash screen in the Midway's Arcade Collection. -
Arcade Classics we missed out on!

Rally X, no. BurgerTime, I believe Data East released it (along with Karate Champ, Breakthru, and Tag Team Wrestling). -
Atari Classics compilation coming to DS
Adrian M replied to figgler's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Jesus. As if we need yet another version of this. I thought the DS was supposed to bring untold amounts of originality and new concepts to gaming? -
Halo 2 Metal Cases - on display at stores!
Adrian M replied to Adrian M's topic in Modern Console Discussion
As usual, you fail to look beyond the obvious. Average shooter? Perhaps to some, but then was there anything like Halo available for the Dreamcast or PS back in 2001? No. Not even close. Halo was and still is a technical marvel from an engine standpoint. The Dreamcast can barely handle a simple game like Halflife without having to load 10 times per level let alone handle seamless-organic worlds like the ones seen in Halo. Same thing goes for DOOM3. By and large, it's just another shooter as you would say. But it's the engine and the possibilities that it provides as well as the atmosphere/storyline which is the selling point. -
Halo 2 Metal Cases - on display at stores!
Adrian M replied to Adrian M's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Um no it isn't. It's a case with hinges, not a tin box with two separate pieces. That's the point I'm trying to make here. -
Having a differing opinion doesn't necessarily equal retardation. But, I do hear your point though. Not much else to ask for and not much to bitch about in VF4. A very nice fighting package indeed. 'Course it all depends on what you like. I'll argue to the grave that Super Street Fighter 2 was the highest point the genre will ever see. Thank you. For my money, I'd place the godly Vanguard (or even Viper Phase 1) as the top V game. Give me a 2D fighter over a 3D one any day.
