  1. It's no NFL FEVER 2002 for the XBOX, but in terms of playability, Troy Aikman Football is a decent football game.
  2. It's rare, it's Pengo and it's new/sealed. For those reasons, the price you paid was fair. Congratulations on winning the game!
  3. I will soon own a 2port 5200 through a trade and I do have large collection of 2600 games that I would like to continue to use. The 2600 adapter looks like a good idea and I have a few questions about this. How well does it work, do you need to plug in Atari 2600 joysticks to play 2600 games, and how reliable is it? I've done some research, but some of my questions remain unanswered thanks to some rather unclear pictures and incomplete information.
  4. Well, considering that goatari.com often sells brand new, never opened Jaguar systems on ebay for $49.99, you should NEVER pay more than $50 for one. A fair price for a boxed system would be between $35-$50. If its an open box system, be sure everything is included before you pay your $$$.
  5. Ms Pac-Man, Joust and Berzerk. It's too difficult to list just one!
  6. Aliens vs Predator for the Macintosh by Macplay comes in a large cardboard box and the CD itself is comes in a clear DVD case. Why? I have no idea, but the instruction manual is larger thanks to the added space of the DVD case. All the documentation is included in the DVD case and aside from a rather large cardboard insert, the cardboard box contains absolutely nothing which is really a waste!
  7. The video game dealer, 4Jays has them in stock both new and used. You shouldn't have to pay more than $15-$20 for one. www.4jays.com
  8. You should make that bologna sandwich picture your new avatar...

    2600 system

Is this Atari 2600 free or is there a sum of money that you are charging for it?
  10. Does Papa John's Pizza still exist? In my area, they've converted all the Papa Johns into XPRESS Pizza....

    2600 system

I'd be happy to take it. I work in Wakefield, Mass (right off of Route 128), which isn't very far from Worcester. My 2600 is not in working condition and I am looking for a replacement.
  12. Mmm....all this talk about Domino's Pizza and Dr. Pepper is making me hungry! Better call Domino's!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. I like the frequent progress updates. They show us how the game is progressing and what we can expect when the game is finished. I for one, am very interested in playing Koffi when it's done and until then, its cool to get a glimpse of what we'll be playing. Keep at it Cafeman. The game is looking great!
  14. Chips and Celery sticks with Kraft Green Onion Sour Cream dip. It doesn't get any better than that.
  15. It's a good thing for you that the common carts cost next to nothing. You'd die from starvation if you had to save your lunch money for one XBOX or Gamecube game...
  16. Thanks for clearing this up for me.
  17. Actually, I do remember the sense of pride I had when I got my Atari back in 1982. Mine was the all-black Vader model (which I still have!) and all my friends had the various woodgrain models, which at the time, looked rather old-fashioned compared to my Vader. I was the envy of my friends, to say the least!! And my controllers were all black too! Except for the red fire button, the Vader's controllers lacked the orange paint detailing around the base of the actual joystick.
  18. Yes, but bit rot won't set in immediately. It normally takes anywhere from 10-20 years before the first signs are evident. It's not the cost of the cart that worries me, it's making sure that the data on the cart stays intact.
  19. Yes, I'd like to see some new polls on Atariage.
  20. Yes, I am aware that Mame has cheats. However, I don't cheat when it comes to video games. It's all about skill.
  21. Your post seems to radiate a certain sadness regarding your decision to sell your 2600. Are you selling it out of necessity due to a traumatic event or do no longer want it?
  22. Yes, but the arcade version is 10 times harder! I'm not joking! Download the ROM for Mame and make sure you give yourself 5 lives. I'm lucky if I can make it to the 3rd level. I wish I could get farther because I really want to see the other intermission scenes. 2600 Jr. Pacman has a great difficulty level. Hard enough to keep you humble, but certainly a game that can be mastered when you log some serious time on it. One of my top 10 2600 games of all time!
  23. Albert, Aside from the crystal-clear picture you get thanks to the A/V connection, these games are just mere shadows of their former glorious selves. I'd seriously advise anyone against getting one. I've seen these in some Electronics Boutique stores. Sometimes in the front where the cash register is and sometimes over where they have the action figures/toys. In most cases, they'll only have one in stock. It comes housed in a hanging cellophane display which is why they sometimes keep them hanging next to the action figures.
  24. That can't be right. From what I've read, only the EEPROM-based chip carts, discs and tapes are subject from bit rot, not the permanently burned ROM chips in all modern carts. EEPROM's are different in that they aren't physically burned, but the data is flashed. Can anyone confirm if the multicart is EEPROM-based?
  25. I'd recommend Atari Karts if you can get it for under $50. Don't pay any for it. Goatari will occassionally offer this title with a "buy it now" price of $49.99 brand new on ebay from time to time. Super Burnout is a decent arcade-style motorcyle racing game in the tradition of HangOn. I'm guessing BattleSphere is good from what hard-core Jag fans say, but I never owned it and the price is kind of ludicrous if you ask me. Rayman is also a good (but VERY hard) side scrolling action game. This game has the BEST 2D sprites and animation of any Jag game I've seen and the Playstation and Sega Saturn ports were all carbon copies of the Jag version (which came out first). Again, don't pay more than $40 for it.
