Mine is yellow. I had no choice in the matter as I got mine through EB online.
Frankly, I hate the thing. I was expecting unaltered, perfect versions of these classic games and sadly that is not the case (ie: Atlantis and the invisible bullets!)

If anyone is interested in a very good quality Jag bundle, email me. Comes with 2 new controllers, 2 games, and the composite cable. You'd be lucky to find one in this condition that comes with all these extras!

I don't get what you mean. Do you mean "Let's make a new modern-day version of the Lynx?" or do you mean "let's just make a lynx out of used or broken Lynx parts in the spirit of the portable 2600?"
Can you elaborate?

Don't bother with the Goatstore. They charge high prices for used/incomplete games.
Personally, go with Peter Curry and his GoAtari company ( www.goatari.com ) for your Jaguar needs. I don't recommend buying directly through his website, because he'll often put up large quantities of NEW - FACTORY-SEALED jag and Lynx titles on ebay for a fraction of what he charges on his website. Case in point...got 2 BRAND NEW Jag controllers for $9.99. Got a NEW BOXED Cybermorph for $9.99! Got a NEW Cannon Fodder for $9.99!
Goatari ships quickly and they are a reputable dealer. I rarely see any word of mouth on this great company and I can't figure out why! For the cost of a used game, you can get brand new stuff!

Not that I'm aware of. On the Mac side, the answer is a definite no. On the Wintel/Linux side, out of the emulators I've tried, none incorporate savestates so far.
Sure would be handy for games like Secret Quest and Dark Chambers!

There's no one out there who needs or wants a good quality Jaguar bundle?

I'm looking to sell my Jaguar unit and I am offering a very nice bundle to anyone who is interested. Everything you need to play and more is included. Here's what's included:
- Jaguar console (NTSC) --great condition/no box. All hookups and official A/C adapter is included as well.
- 2 BRAND NEW Jaguar controllers --I bought these from Goatari and they are still sealed in their plastic bags!
- Composite (A/V) cable! This cable is normally sold separately and gives you stereo sound and an improved picture. The R/F converter is included as well.
- 2 games! Tempest 2000 and Kasumi Ninja. Both games come in their original boxes. Kasumi doesn't have a manual or headband, though.
My asking price for this bundle is $50 PLUS applicable shipping costs. Feel free to email me if interested. Paypal or Money Order ONLY!

Classic and Plus mode are more fun IMHO. 2K mode just isnt balanced enough for a good gamer to develop skills to play the game. Alot of luck in involved. Maybe with a better controller D2K would shine, but in its delivered form is not a classic.Tempest 2K is great though. Good balance and gameplay.
I agree 100% with Goochman. Everything he says about D2k is accurate. Needless to say, I was expecting great things from D2K and came away somewhat disappointed in the end.

Speaking of Pitfall, my Pitfall 1 cartridge has that ugly plain blue/white label revision with just text. This is the only Activision game I own that's like that. Why did they choose to use such a plain label?

I experienced a similar phenomenon. THe Jag initially looked like a great system to begin collecting for, so about a year ago, I bid on a bundle on ebay and was for the most part impressed.
My bundle came with the system, 2 controllers and 4 games-Tempest 2k, Kasumi Ninja, Iron Soldier and that rally racing game. I was, for the most part, impressed and figured that all Jag games were of similar quality. I mean, with Iron Soldier and Tempest 2K, arguably the best Jag games out there, I figured I could do no wrong by buying more Jag games. My expectations were high...
Sadly, I began to buy more and more Jag games, but when each package of games arrived from GoAtari and Telegames, I found myself more and more disappointed! The quality was nowhere near what I expected after playing IS and Tempest2k. After buying about 15 additional games, I decided that I had played the best Jag games and the rest of the released titles were mediocre at best. Even Defender2k failed to live up to the lofty standards of quality that T2k had set years ago. THe Jag CD was out of the question as the games were limited and the rarity of the add-on made the cost of acquiring one too high for even a die-hard game fan like myself.
In short, the Jag is a great game system if you have those 3-5 killer app games like Iron Soldier, Tempest2k, etc. The rest of the games honestly aren't that good. Only hardcore collectors or completists will try to buy every single game, many of which are just plain horrible to spend any amount of money on. I prefer my 2600 to the Jag.

That damn insulting flying head in Sinistar. Not only is he annoying, those insults get to be very repetitive and thus annoying, after a while.

From the looks of things, my "to get" list only has about 30 games on it, and I'm not even terribly excited about the idea of getting most of them. At most, there's 10 games on that list that Ireallywant to get. Once I get those 10, I think I'll cut back on the 2600 and move on to other systems. In particular, I plan to focus on my Lynx and Jaguar collection. I already have about 30 Jaguar games mint in box (except for Wolfenstein 3D and the memory track, which have quite damaged boxes), and I've been looking forward to hopefully finishing my Jaguar collection one of these days. I don't know if I'll be able to do it in just a year, but I'll try to at least put a dent in it. As for Lynx stuff, I'm still a novice Lynx collector, so it'll definitely take me into 2003 if I plan to get all the Lynx games. I also hope to get my 5200 collection to a respectable level.I also haven't forgotten my old plans to write a 2600 game. Unfortunately, this year has been busier than I expected as far as school is concerned, and with some of the classes I'll be starting in January, I'm not sure I'll have time to work on it even then Once school ends for the year, I will hopefully get a decent job, and may or may not have time for programming. But, once my 2002-2003 school year starts, I should have loads of time, since I'll only have 2 courses per term plus a thesis to write I don't know if Taxi Cab will be finished in 2002, but I hope to at least get a head start on it.And finally, one of my new years resolutions will definitely be to finally get myself a working ColecoVision! I've been dealing with my stupid broken one for too long.--Zero
If you're looking for brand new, sealed copies of Missile Command 3D and HoverStrike, let me know. These may help you to complete your Jaguar collection!

I just got a sealed copy of Gravitar for the 2600 and sadly my black Vader 2600 console doesn't seem to work anymore! So I guess this is my best 2600 game that I can't play this one at all until I fix or find a new console.

The XBOX is a great system. And I don't mean that it's great just in terms of improved graphics and more polygons. Enemy AI has been bumped up to almost life-like proportions, it's almost scary!
Case in point, your enemies in Halo think and react to you and your actions in such a convincing human-like way, it's unreal! You won't find any of those enemies in other FPS games that simply charge at you with guns blazing! INcredible stuff indeed!
-
I remember that this game received many harsh reviews back when it was released. If my memory serves me right, I believe the PS version of the game was the better version.

I live in Massachusetts and I can't find ANYTHING good for my 2600 in the wild. The rarest 2600 cart I've found in any pawn/thrift shop is the beveled cart case version of US GAMES' Eggomaniac!
It's almost as if a giant vortex appeared in New England and swallowed up all the 2600 carts from this area!
-
The game only came with a short manual, cart and white cardboard cart holder (no box), so just having the cart only shouldn't affect the value that much.
Based on what I've seen the game go for, you can expect to net anywhere from $100 - $200 on a good day. Of course, the value is great affected by the timing of when you offer the game for sale, but from what I've seen, the game is usually in high demand by Jag collectors and there is always a buyer out there. On average, I'd say you'd come out of it with a net profit of about $150.

I had the 1987 2600 rev of Kangaroo and while it was fun back then, the more I look at it now and compare it to the arcade version, the more I realize how poor and flickery it actually was. That and the control was pretty poor with the stock 2600 joysticks!
It was pretty easy to play through it several times once you got the hang of the levels and the various shortcuts you could take on the later levels.

Happy Birthday. I hope you got an XBOX as a Christmas or Birthday gift!

CONGRATS ON GETTING AN XBOX!!!!
This is the BEST gaming system OF ALL TIME!
I've owned one since the Nov 15 launch and I still can't get over how addictive and immersive the games are! I own 5 games (Air Force Delta Storm, Oddworld, HALO, Project Gotham, and NFL FEVER 2002) and all are instant classics! I play these five games more than I've played half of the games in my 40+ DC game collection!
Folks, the XBOX is truly the real deal! Microsoft is at last giving gamers and developers exactly what we want! Long live Bill Gates!!!!

If you have any doubts as to my track record as a seller, you need only look up my profile on ebay to see that I have a PERFECT track record with 72 positive feedback comments.
I could put the game up on ebay with a BUY IT NOW and give you the URL to the item page before it gets posted if you prefer to do it the ebay way. If you want to do the transaction outright, I can do that too...if the price is right!

I do have a Waterworld complete with box, comic book and manual. How much are you willing to pay for it?
-
Well, the controller has received much criticism, I agree with you on that point. In my opinion, I think its a great controller, it fits my hands perfectly and it lacks the uncomfortable hard edges of the stock Dreamcast pad. But a controller shouldn't cause you to dismiss a system...there are plenty of 3rd party pads out there that feature a more standard button layout and smaller size.
And yes, I have played both Capcom Vs SNK 1 and 2 (I own the first one and my brother has the sequel). It may just be me, but I'm tired of the whole SF and Neo Geo fighting series scene. I played them to death in the 90's and this compilation, while a great idea, is a few years too late. There's no denying that many people will find these great games with loads of combos and moves to unlock, but for me (and I'm sure many fellow gaming scientists will attest to) it all seems disturbingly familiar and repetitive.
I do enjoy 2D games, by the way, but I prefer more of the Super Mario and Final Fight types rather than the MK/SF/FF genres.

best atari CD emu setup?

Mac, Linux or PC?
Go with Stella on either OS. The Mac version is the best, while the Windows rev (at least on NT 4.0) seems to exhibit some inaccurate sound problems.
