Nope, that's pretty much how it is. Best go the eBay route or find some Intellivision site if you want to make more than $20 for the lot.

dreamcast game: won't boot on DC but reads on PC
Adrian M replied to CincYnoTi's topic in Modern Console Discussion
There were a few badly pressed discs that circulated during launch...Ready To Rumble Boxing, Hydro Thunder, Mortal Kombat, and a few others. Corrected/properly pressed copies were promptly sent to dealers and the packages were marked with a "HOT NEW" sticker affixed to the cellophane to differentiate between the new and old pressings. -
dreamcast game: won't boot on DC but reads on PC
Adrian M replied to CincYnoTi's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I think anyone who bought a DC at launch (myself included) deserve golden tickets for putting ourselves through one of the shortest-lived consoles in gaming history. -
I recently hooked up my NUON setup and proceeded to play some of my old favorites.

Something intersting for ALL systems
Adrian M replied to Radio F Software's topic in Classic Console Discussion
You're just realizing this now? This is always the case as the developers get over the initial learning curve of the hardware and as better development tools get released, the games then start to look better. As it stands, the 1st generation of games released for any system will look great at first, but are a pretty poor yardstick for measuring the true potential of a game system. The second and third generation releases finally begin to show the technological possiblilities of the hardware. -
Sega's Genesis and earlier arcade titles were great. Master System was so-so. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the Sega CD, 32X, Saturn and DC.

It's a PC game. No plans to bring it to the XBOX as of yet. I just posted it because of the beautiful graphics engine as well as the high degree of customization possible.

Five years later... how's the Dreamcast holdin' up?
Adrian M replied to Jess Ragan's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I don't think so. The hardware has some pretty severe limitations to it. Loading times in particular would be pretty bad (ie: Shenmue and Half Life) and the hardware isn't robust enough to keep it from getting bogged down with the higher polycounts used in today's games. I look at it this way....I don't think a cross-platform game like Splinter Cell 1 could be made on the DC. It made it out for the PS2 and GC with some glaring issues, which tells me that the DC wouldn't be able to handle it without some major edits. -
Rally fans rejoice! I have only two words to describe Xpand Rally: MY GOD!!! If you have the hardware, give the demo a shot! http://www.gamershell.com/download_6942.shtml Pics to tide you over!

EVEN MORE PSX FINDS AT GAMESTOP!!

Wasn't Foxhunt that mid-1990's FMV game? Perhaps that's why it's so rare. FMV games....shudder! -
You're missing quite a few titles (ie: Darius for the PC Engine CDROM circa 1989, Darius Plus, Darius Alpha, etc.) but yes, the Darius series are great games. Darius 2 and Sagaia are the same game for the Genesis, so don't pass that one up.

It's good to see my years of supporting PBS has finally paid off with the development of some decent programs as of late. I like the Frontier House series and I still enjoy my Tuesday evening British Comedies. This gaming program is a nice bonus.

Somehow I doubt that Nintendo will stray that far from what the current gaming interfaces offer. They do have make things accessible to all, and going the "totally unique" route is a huge gamble at this point in time.
-
More importantly though, it looks like the Monkeyball franchise which has been a longtime Nintendo console-exclusive property (handhelds were a different story), is now fully cross-platform. Going into the next hardware generation, that's one less exclusive title that Nintendo will have up in its arsenal. Of course, they could always get minor concessions like a 6 month exclusive (much like with Splinter Cell on the XBOX), but still, it's not the same.

Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon

I'm all for the obscure games (as long as they aren't overly fruity), but this is one game I haven't tried yet. -
According to NTSC UK: So far Sega's comedy monkey puzzler has only seen release on Gamecube, but Sega has confirmed to Official Xbox Magazine that the chimp's coming to Xbox in Super Monkey Ball Deluxe. The new title will feature 300 stages: 114 from Super Monkey Ball, 140 from Super Monkey Ball 2 and 46 Deluxe-exclusive boards. Thats a lot of bananas to collect. But thats not all you get. Deluxe will also include a new Challange mode, integrated varying skill settings (beginner, advance, expert) into one fluid learning curve rather then breaking them up into independant settings. You also get an enhanced story mode, featuring stages from the two Gamecube games. All 12 Party games from Super Monkey Ball 1 & 2 will also be included. Amusement Vision, the team responsible for the original arcade releases, is supervising development and a release is penned for early 2005

Sadly, no. The arcade board (more like cart and SP-1 board setup) is the only way to go at the moment. There were rumors of an XBOX Raiden Fighters collection back in the early days of the XBOX, but sadly, the company that announced it died.
-
Far as I can tell, all of the arcade's nuances are in the PC edition. Play the arcade version and then play the PC version again. Graphics, sound, gameplay are 100% spot on.

It can't yet handle any of Seibu's SP-1 games...Viper Phase 1 included in that list. As I stated before, Raiden II was released on PC CDROM back in 1999. Some EB stores may still have it. I bought my copy for like $3.00 and it's pretty much an exact port.

heck yeah, I'd forgotten what an awesome game Deimos Rising is! Think I might have a game now.. Good! Don't forget the prequel (Mars Rising). Other great Mac 2D shooters that I love are Bullet EX (Kajibato software), Active Lancer, and KaiJin. Give them a try as well.

A few games have come along. I have a copy of Go which was published by a company called Oldergames.com or something like that. A few other unreleased titles have been subsequently released as well. -
I usually get a lot of them at the early stages of my auctions. But in the end, the more established members generally win my auctions.
