  1. I can't seem to NOT play this. Every time I get the NES out, I want to play this game. I still play on my original copy from BiTD I also found myself playing Commando and High Speed recently.
  2. Ok, nobody asked me to do this, but I propose this as our list. I took the list from Rev's first post then cross referenced the last list from the old thread and added those that were NOT part of the first list behind those that were. Darrin9999 was marked as having received the original grab bag (dunno if true), but he's in here again unless he'd like to volunteer to bump himself to the bottom. 1. Rev - starter 2. Dzjay - awaiting arrival 3. Rick Reynolds 4. Ebelhaki 5. Bennybingo 6. Cvga 7. OutlawTorn71 8. Darrin9999 9. Wongojack 10. Illtiger1 11. IntvSteve 12. Intellfan 13. mphokie 14. BBWW
  3. Bump - Lemme know if you see anything from here that you want: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/223099-rate-my-craigslist-deal/
  4. Yes but manufacturing on these has now almost completely stopped worldwide, so the point applies here. They will all be gone someday. I actually had one just die on me last week which was surprising (although I think it is just a fuse somewhere). So get another computer? I have an old laptop hooked to my TV. I took the screen off and it takes up less space than any game console. It runs anything I want to do in emulation up to PS1. I haven't tried every system of course. I like using the original controllers, so that is a big deal for me. Having just one emulator that can do it all WOULD be nice . . . I think it'd be cool if technology advanced far enough that re-coding could be almost automatic. So someone could invent a magic retro engine and you could "format" old roms for that engine and it would just work. Somewhere between having a new emulator that does everything and actually having to re-code every game. This could enable things like high score sharing and online multiplayer.
  5. Failsafe (7800) is a sequel to Countermeasure for the 5200 Here is a blurb that I wrote about it recently: "I'd never played countermeasure but I really enjoyed discovering it. Using an adapter that gave me digital controls really helped with this game as the 5200 stick seemed to always be re-calibrating. You can find lots of descriptions of c'measure on the web for reference. It's sequel for the 7800 had a lot of nice improvements including power-ups for your tank that gave you more speed, invincibility, more range on your shots, and a "freeze" of the enemies. This is a really nice homebrew and one of the few for the 7800 that is not an arcade port." The game does a nice job of making you feel like you are helping to save the world. Although the 5200 version actually gives you more choice, the 7800 game is faster and offers more variety. Playing both of them one after another felt like different stages in a kind of story, but alone they aren't that engaging. That being said, there is quite a bit more in Failsafe than just a few screens of mazes or faster invaders.
  6. I totally used this on a purchase of some Gameboy games. Shopped around and found some BIN items I wanted for as close to $20 as possible and entered the code on the payment screen. It worked great.
  7. Tom Hates Intellivision Controllers! I'm guessing by the way it is phrased that they will not be compatible with the original HW? While the disdain for the design has some merit, the world simply needs a round of these built to augment the aging controllers from yesteryear. I'll definitely get this and the wired controllers will be a big reason why. If they aren't directly compatible then it might allow for some new hack projects.
  8. Well, I liked Return of the Jedi A LOT. I think it was such a big departure from the first game that it kind of disappointed some people. Someone did make a ROTJ game in recent years with vector graphics etc for home PCs. I remember hearing about it on Retro Gaming Roundup. Interesting fact - Empire Strikes Back actually came out after ROTJ. Baby Pac Man is another game most don't seem to like, but I do. I'll admit that a baby is not a very good general idea for a video game, but I like the Pinball combo idea. The space invaders sequel is one that wasn't bad, but I would just rather play the original.
  9. Updated with the Dungeon poster. Lot's of possibly pending items, but I haven't been paid so everything is still technically up for grabs.
  10. I'll vote for Space Hawk as the worst game, but I definitely understand the lack of love for Donkey Kong. IMO Star Strike would be better if it would loop and increase in difficulty like Star Wars Arcade. As it is, it kinda feels like a demo.
  11. In past years, you might wait for someone to play a few games on a very popular machine but there have almost always been open machines you can move to and play right away. This is a new venue, so I'm not sure how confined the space will be this year. Last year was great and things were spread out enough so that you didn't feel like you were right on top of each other all the time.
  12. Ha, no complaints from me. I'm just trying to help however I can to keep things moving. I'll keep the offer out there to split shipping with someone if the box gets too big etc. I can also do some direct shipping if the thing gets just massive. On a side note, I just joined the INTV brotherhood and donated to the button fund.
  13. Wow the double meaning on that one . . . I had to sit down. But seriously, there was a discussion of sending the items to someone who would primarily take as opposed to add to help thin out the pile a bit. I'm not quite the contributor that the others in this thread are, but I'll volunteer my help to consolidate things. You could find a bigger box for everything and I'll split the shipping with you to get it to me. The "other" box can go to DZ and when he is finished, he can send it to me. I'll consolidate both together and be the guy to pack it up and ship it on. I'll also happily offer to ship anything back to DZ individually that he wants from the current box.
  14. Well, I'm not sure it would make it to me any time soon, and it feels a little like beggars/choosers to make requests, but I'm looking for these loose carts: Chip Shot Congo Bongo Defender Diner Pinball River Raid Safecracker Thin Ice Tropical Trouble Truckin' White Water World Series Baseball Also looking forward to digging through the overlays and manuals.
  15. That kinda sounds like the start of a dirty joke . . . But seroiusly, I have one extra copy of Ballblazer
  16. Bump - Anyone got a broken 7800 with an in-tact case?
  17. I sold some Intellivision games to him and it was a simple and smooth transaction.
  18. He bought some PC and an Intellivision game from me. Transaction could not have been smoother.
