  1. The prize for June 2020 at the DarkForce! BBS is: The Bards Tale (Atari ST) ! Good luck and thanks to all our callers!
  2. Here is the lucky winner for May 2020 at The DarkForce! BBS: May 2020 1. Stephen wins Beyond Zork (Atari ST) ! -------------------------------------------------------------- Congratulations to our winner, and thanks to all our callers! PS Stephen, I need your actual/physical address.
  3. You bet they are: http://www.anodynesoftware.com/ I use Roger Burrows (great guy!) software on DarkForce (my BBS) for backup with a 2x SCSI CD-ROM. Good stuff, highly recommended.
  4. If that's a 5 1/4" opening (and it looks like it) you could always add a CD... Just a (random) thought.
  5. Right, that's the way I remember it. Sterling, Virginia - wasn't that their address? Joe and his wife did a lot of work out of their home, aside from regular day job(s), IIRC.
  6. Current Notes is awesome. The team behind it was simply amazing and some of the nicest people ever. I was fortunate enough to write a couple of articles for them, wished I'd taken the time to write more. Miss them much.....
  7. This seems to have done the trick - users are reporting that the new address is working fine. Thanks everyone.
  8. Well, as reported to my by a couple of DarkForce "regulars", (or should I say "irregulars"? ) , the new address is working fine. Hope that takes care of that situation.
  9. So per user requests, I've added another alias for telnetting into the DarkForce! BBS. There are now 2 routes: darkforce-bbs.dyndns.org (the original) and darkforcebbs.dyndns.org The second is for comms software that balks at anything non standard (such as the dash) that is entered. Please test and let me know if it's not working.... Thanks!

  11. Hehehe, some of the stuff I give away could probably match that description!
  12. First, congratulations! Secondly, you had a good chance to win. As I posted in a message at DarkForce, although 50-60 people viewed the Monthly Prize, only -4- registered. "May the odds be ever in your favor".
  13. This month, May 2020, at the DarkForce! BBS we are giving away a free copy of: Beyond Zork, by Infocom! Great game, good luck to all, and thank you to everyone for calling.
  14. Here is the lucky winner for April 2020 at the DarkForce! BBS: April 2020 1. Monitor Master - John Polka! Congratulations to our winner and thanks to everyone for calling! PS John Polka, I need your actual/physical address.
  15. Second all the above. Great video, loved it, and just really super glad to see these events still going on and supporting Atari. Thanks for posting it!
  16. Nice presentation, very clear and easy to follow. Glad they included the STacy. Oh, the original 520ST was "rushed" to market to beat the Amiga 1000, not the 500. Not a big deal, just pointing it out. Wish I could have been there!
  17. Or just go mass storage with a Lotharek Ultrasatan. https://lotharek.pl/productdetail.php?id=48 Not too expensive, excellent construction and support, as well as already being used by tons of Atarians. You can then take a TOS/DOS formatted SDcard and easily switch it out between your ST and a Windows box (although I think Win7 on down will only see the first partition but that's usually not a problem). HTHs.
  18. Right, they are not when the cover is closed, but as Remo said, you have to remove the 2 bottom LEDs to install a jumper block at J8 so that you can plug in Leech's awesome nuclear powered LED replacements. I'm assuming that no signal goes to J8 otherwise.
  19. Okay, back on topic. I've got a complaint. So...I'm sitting in front of my LED enhanced Mega STe now... On the left, a power on light that equals a solar flare in intensity, causing me to don sunglasses, On the right, a HD access light that when it's flashing causes "Blinded by the Light" lyrics to run through my head, and then I access the floppy disk.... blink, blink.... Yep, gonna have to find a way to get that floppy disk light to match the other two in all their glory.
