1. But I'll go, even if they held it on the west side of Cincinnati.

You sound like a bright man. Know of any jobs that could bring a poor guy from Sycamore home?

    877296

I wish. I just spent four months looking for a job myself. Finally found one two months ago but it's still a temp position. I do love the job though

And yes, I'm an east sider. Went to Indian Hill for school but grew up in Sycamore Township (Kenwood).

    877958

Dang, big player... DIdn't realize you were an east sider. :) I moved to Silverton last year. Where are you living on the East side?

  2. I keep my 2600 manuals in binders by company. I keep any atari cart worth $20+ or any game of rarity 7+ in a plastic sleeve. I keep most of my boxed games in bags from atariage store. Especially NES... I have always loved NES boxes. I buy the cart sleeves from a local place called "hobby lobby" because they are 100 for $4. I think they are actually intended for jewelry. I use cart commander and it works great for me. I try to keep all eprom carts sealed in sleeves in a dark, dark place.

  3. I've never had remorse. If I find a good deal from a seller I always go back and tell them how much they could have got for it. The only time I won't do that is at a garage sale or fleamarket because they have chance to try to take the items back.. naturally I'd run like the wind with the merchandise I paid for tho LOL!

I got about 12 or 16 Atari 2600 games in one of those woodgrain colored folding binders and a 2600 system with some joysticks and other stuff. Toothprotectors was one of the games. $5 for the whole lot. I calmly whispered to my Grandmother "Do you have $5 on you?! That one game over there is worth a fortune". --- Sold it on eBay for about $300. This had to be back in the early to mid 90's.

The other time I was at a garage sale and there was an Apple II type computer, a Commodore 1602 color monitor (I think that's the model been awhile) some drives, a printer. A small kid was selling it. He had $20 written on it, but crossed it off and wrote $15. It was still early too like 9am! So I came up and he goes you know the printer doesn't work and I go okay I'll give you $10 and he took it.

.. but my favorite of all time was a remote control car for sale.. $30 with controller, battery and charger. This was a rare Tamiya Brute. It was a pickup truck that had switchable gears. Almost like a car with a shifter. He mistakenly marked it $30, but I was like look you wanna make a sale or not and I got it for $50.

    877493

Nope, never. I have had many deals on e-bay over the past 5 years. My best recent win was probably either the "foot craze" controller for video jogger/reflex for $20 or a river patrol from a newbie seller last fall for $180. I think those were both bargains but it never has dawned on me to say... "hey, if you would have waited till you got dome more feedback" or "if you would have listed this item with atari in the title because this is for the atari"... no way will I ever do such a thing.

  4. Does anyone know how rare this is? It's not listed in Video Game Collector Magazine.  :ponder:

    868392

Digital Press lists Ghost Lion as a rarity 4, worth $5.

    868963

I sold a complete one quite a few years ago for $15-$20 IIRC. Sold a complete Uncharted waters for $30 as well that day.

  5. Great question :D I've just moved into a new house with my fiance (and it still looks like junkyard after 3 days!) she had probaly 3 times as much stuff as me and spend a whole day yesterday arranging her books on shelves and putting her million odd outfits in wardrobes only for me to turn around and say "Erm, where's my Atari stuff going?"   She then looked at me like I had moved a stripper in the house  :x  then muttered something like "I suppose the will have to go down stairs somewhere because you not having them in the study or the bedroom!"   :ponder:  They are still all in boxes and I still don't know where their new home will be but there is NO way i will ever get rid of them.

Wow, I've got pretty much the exact same story going on here... but it also involves convincing the wife that the entire GOAT Store needs to go into our house. Actually, she is rather accepting of everything, as long as it is out of view for the most part... I'd suggest just claiming the basement as your territory, and then making it rock. That's what I plan on doing :D

Anywho, I'll probably keep my collection forever, or most of it. As soon as I can get the basement finished a little better at our house, I intend on having all my games downstairs, and I'm already making lists in my head of which Jaguar games I want to play. Since my collection is essentially complete, I've been collecting for the Dreamcast lately, which I'm pretty sure will be the last system I collect for... and my collection for it is at about 95% of what I'm looking for :)

    866495

Yeah, what he said. Seriously though, once I obtain the last few PS2 games, and a few jaguar and lynx titles I'm trying to find, I will have every game I ever wanted (minus the 40 or so on my wanted list that I'm sure I'll slowly aquire). I've decided to focus on arcades as of recently and have around 10 halfway between my old house and my new basement. I spent the better part of last year getting my house liveable and right now I'm painting the outside... The basement is my next project, but we just found out today termites are back on out front porch... GRRRR, the work never ends for a homeowner.

  6. Believe it or not, I have a shark attack with two labels over it. I know what you're thinking... must be lochjaw... Nope, I peeled the label off and it was a mislabeled lost luggage cart. Plays as shark attack. Strange stuff!

  8. I have a space invaders collection. Tried to get every release of this game. I still need the Game gear one and Virtual Boy (yeah right!). I have various odds and ends as far as memorabilia goes but I limit myself to the standard crap like board games, lunch boxes, and drinking glasses. BTW, does anyone know how many video game related lunch boxes there are? Someone told me a dozen but here's the ones I know about:

    Q bert

Mario (more than one of these)

    Pac-Man

    Ms Pac Man

    Frogger

    Burgertime

Sonic (don't know about this one?)

Some one inPhilly told me they had a Zaxxon one but I've never seen that one! He could have been full of it.

  9. I would very much like to own a CIB Rescue Terra 1.  Long shot?  Yeah, most likely, nonetheless if you have an extra for sale please send me a pm.  Should you have it I might have to liquidate some of my overstock to purchase it, but I could pay within a week of notice.  Have games available for partial trade as well.  I will not lowball anyone who has this game available.  Open to negotiation on price.  Quite aware that this is a more expensive commodity. ;)  Thanks for looking and please keep me in mind should you be in the position to deal.

    856644

This probably doesn't interest you but I have a Recue terra box I may trade. Thought maybe if someone offered you the loose cart, this may interest you. Would leave you in the same place as me though... no instructions! GRRR!

  10. I had a brainstorm!  If anyone who has these both loose and wants the complete or sealed copies tempest is offering, I'll pay $400 towards them.  Or trade some prototypes.

    854463

If you or anyone else has them loose already, why not just buy the complete PAL versions for far less. They're identical. :?

    855418

That's exactly the point I was trying to make.

I'm willing to buy a set for someone if they give me their loose copies of these games and $550.

  11. No offense, but just because you opened 2 does not automatically make all the others NTSC.  A friend of mine once bought a case of sealed Xenophobes that were originally intended for the US market.  Out of the case, only 1 of them ended up being NTSC.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.  For 99% of Atari games, being sealed adds about 30% to their value.  When it comes to NTSC Asterix, Ikari Warriors, Motorodeo, Xenophobe or any other game that you can get for substantially less as a PAL title (assuming there is no difference in the appearance of the box which there isn't in both of the instances you're selling on behalf of a friend), you can pretty much take away about 50% of the boxed value if it is sealed since as has already been said, no one will believe you that it is NTSC.

    852593

I agree 100%. I'd be more willing to pay closer to $950 if they were both opened and confirmed NTSC rather than sealed and most likely NTSC. There's no way to know how many the other seller has as well.

I'll trade my loose NTSC BMX airmaster for two opened copies.
