1. Maybe I misuderstood but is this an auction? When you say "bid" you mean purchase right? It's not that I don't believe him, it's just to much to risk that someone else won't "discover" more. We all knew this would happen sooner or later with these particular titles right? Plus, there isn't any appeal for me to having a shrinkwrapped game that is a fairly common PAL title. NO ONE will ever believe you that it's NTSC if you keep it sealed! Just look at all the speculation when one hits ebay. Even you yourself doubted this to be true and had to open them up... Another thing is the fact that Ikari Warriors is only a rarity 9 on atariage and an 8 on digital press. I would say you are over estimating the value of Ikari by forcing people to purchase both when one isn't worth as much as the other. If anyone buys me the package, I'd throw a $500-$700 trade your way (what arcade title(s) you want?) but who the hell would be dumb enought to do that? Where do you draw the line with the find? If I offered up 7 sealed copies of Mangia and Bumper Bash each, how many would offer me $1,000 for the set?
2. I would consider lowering the price. The PAL boxes for these releases are identical to the NTSC ones. Essentially, you are offering the NTSC cart only. I'd be interested if your supplier lowered his price some. I mean, c'mon this guy is looking to make $6,000 on something he may have a hundred copies of.
3. Man, I'll sell you a CTCW with a nice label for $80 Paypal if you're interested. Custer's Revenge sells for $20-$25 loose on e-bay... DON'T pay what he's asking even if they are complete!
4. I'm with you, I'd like to have manuals and boxes if at all possible. 849038 I collect manual variations so if it's a manual I don't have, I'll probably be bidding on it just for the paper. I've bought countless rarities w/manual just for the manual and then sold the cart off at a later time. Most often I take a $5-$10 loss in the long run but it's worth it to me. I have nearly every 2600 manual and they rule! Boxes take up way too much space!
5. That's bs. At least it's playable. Yar's Revenge is playable too. Worst game ever would have to be unplayable (and not by choice).
6. If it's not your lot, why would you post it here and then bitch about the price going so high? I could care less but it just seems pointless to post a couple rarity 5 games grouped together on this board just so some re-seller can snatch it up and make a profit. The real collectors know when something good hits e-bay. It's not possible for something to go unoticed anymore.
7. 8-bit stuff is all over the place actually. I've been offered $2 up to $80 for boxed stuff I have. The rare boxed stuff is obviously worth more. The games you listed are fairly common titles.
8. Yes, he's reputable and I've had a few trades with him on ugtz.com going back a few years. I told him I'd buy the protos many years back but he never had the time to send a list of what he had. Anyway, I just can't wait around forever no matter what's at stake. Hope it works out for you.
9. I have games that retailed for under $20 that are worth 20x's that. You need to get a clue.
10. I'm tired of people underestimating the value of 7800 titles. It's a $15-$20 game folks.
11. Today I came up with a loose Atari 2600 James Bond 007 and a complete mint Road Rash for genesis. $7 total. Man, thrifting ain't what it used to be. I'll never score a box of 50 games for $10 again.
12. How could you leave out Fighter Pilot if you count these?
13. http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_..._20/ai_94459544 Oh yeah, here's another page you might want to look at: http://www.atarihq.com/pal-division/fleecing/whitepage.html 839815 I don't consider Activision complete without the 3 blue label titles in question. I'm still trying to find black and white instructions for two of those carts. Please keep in mind that some collectors go with the 44 number since the games were origionally released by Imagic.
14. I just wanted to use my 1,000th post to say thanks to Atariage for being the best community for atari nerds like me. I'd certainly be "in the dark" if it wasn't for this community. Alex and Albert are good people. Keep up the good work! Psst!---Get that 8-bit part of the web site up. I can add a bunch of box/instruction/cart scans when it comes time to. I would assist with the rarity guide too if I could be of any help.
15. That ain't nothing. I dream quite often that I am God and the fate of the world depends on my decisions to eat certain foods or not.
16. I have. Couple years ago, I BIN'ed a loose springer for the 2600 listed at $75. I don't really feel that bad b/c I got to cross it off my want list and I hadn't seen one for months on e-bay. I figure I overpaid by double on that one. Doesn't really matter though. Compared with the massive amount of other deals I've gotten on e-bay, it's the only time I remember paying too much. I'm still looking for the instructions though.
17. Sent a PM soon after the initial post but have yet to hear anything. I'd really like to rescue these.
18. I had this same thing happen to myself about 6 months ago. I remember I wrote down "beastie feastie", "grover music", and "space invaders deluxe" as 2600 games I found in a thrift. They were in blue and brown "xante" style carts if I remember correctly. They had masking tape on the ends with the titles written in pencil for some reason??? The dream was in a goodwill I have dreamed about many times before.
19. Holy Crap, this book is like the best value ever. I just can't put it down. Every single person that frequents the hardware forums or classic gaming general should pick this one up!
20. OK, how can I order one? I have one 7800 with A/V out but my spare is begging for one too!
