Secret Scout - was this a fair price?
MattG/Snyper2099 replied to MegaManFan's topic in Auction Central
Trust me, in 5-10 years this this title will go for 5-10 times what you paid for it. Patience pays off. -
Here's a link for the PS2: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=8176062015 If anyone from atariage wins the PS2, I'll include a bonus PS one game or from the NES or whatever system you have. I was going to ask on here before I post the boxed Channel F. It comes with game cart #1 and does not include the original RF switch. Actually, I'm not sure if they ever put an RF in with the channel F. Seems like they must have though...

Mike etler's list with the ABC rarities, suprisingly enough, holds up even today, in my opinion. I've been using it since 1996 and never put it down. DP is all over the place on NES rarity. I haven't checked out video game bible yet but someone told me they are more accurate on NES rarity than the DP guide is. The Etler list is free though.

I'm going to bid, timing is everything.

All the ROMS are real if you want to look at it that way. All the best quadruns and dukes I've ever seen taken apart are real masked roms ready to be thrown into a cart. I think atari ran out of money and scraped these two titles along with many others. Best elec's simply bought them all, put the real chips manufactured by atari into cases like pole position and moon patrol that they broke open and stuck them in. They figured "hey, these pole positions aren't selling nearly as well as these dukes of hazzards and quadrun games" so they made a bunch of them and sold them for $45. (I think that was the price IIRC.) They crossed the line with that fake lab loaner label though. THAT was outright lying to people and that is why best electronics is a piece of s**t in my eyes. Only after the almighty dollar. I would consider EPROMS in carts you got from best electronics "suspect" but certainly not absolutely "made in house" for their own gain. I'm also very curious about something. Has anyone besides CPUWIZ ever cracked open a game like grover or bugs bunny from best to see if they are EPROMS or masked roms like the quadruns???

Non Working Baby Pac.. should I go for it?
MattG/Snyper2099 replied to Xot's topic in Arcade and Pinball
I'll buy that baby pac if it's anywhere near ohio... -
I'm not sure which pdf plans you refer to, but I used these which are conveniently in png format and cover most measures. Though these are for a Ms.Pacman/Galaga cabinet which is a little different from the Pacman cabinet. As for components: I'm not really an expert in arcade components. I always use PC components. What I did see a few days ago, is one of those 9-in-1 arcade boards which are pretty cool. These host multiple roms on a single pcb which are flashable. pretty expensive though. But an original Pacman board is not too cheap either, is it? Why do you choose to use original components? Well, I have an extra 13 inch arcade monitor and working pacman pcb/harness. What else would I do with them???

I collect complete games for the nes. It's my 2nd largest collection.

Wow, you are my god. I have been contemplating building a minipacman for some time now. But, I want to use an origional PCB, wiring harness, ect., add acoin door, ect. I'm looking into the 70% option and have downloaded your .pdf plans dgo. Any tips for using origional components??? That 1/6th scale galaga is like the single coolest thing I have ever seen.

Yellow and blue make green... silly me.

Hey man, quit bashing the SSTD game. I had a kid vid when I was a kid and I thought it was so cool. I guess that's why I still love it. The drink mixing game was the one with colors. It teaches you yellow and green make blue. Hey, it's important since I am a graphic artist but I digress... Anyway, I guess there is a special place for the KV and SSTD in my heart.

Value of a rare game? Asking for your opinion
MattG/Snyper2099 replied to txfds's topic in Atari 2600
$50 would be on the high side IIOP. $35 would be a low.
