Have you guys forgotten about the giant flux of NIB Espial games that flooded eBay a year ago. There were actually TWO sellers that were both sitting on a HUGE stack of them, one in Canada and one in the US. The price that they were getting for their NIB Espials dropped rapidly from around $40 to around $15-$20 in the end. They both stopped selling them, but they are probably just waiting till the market picks up again to sell some more of their stock. Not to be controversial, but I do believe Espial is only a rarity 4.
Cheers,
Marco
Just because someone has a stack of Espials doesn't mean that it is a rarity four. Most rarity fours sold at least 250,000 units back in the day. I doubt seriously that this is the case with Espial. Unless, each of those people selling on ebay has 125,000 espials to sell. I am suggesting that it may be just as rare as springer or miner volume II, that's all. I'm trying to keep a straight head here but, a rarity 4? I don't think so.
I remember very clearly the espials selling on ebay and never bought one. But, if I see them pop up again I'll probably grab one just for the instructions.
Also, I wanted to mention I do own a loose copy of this game and purchased it from another collector, not ebay.
I also wanted to mention an auction I saw on ebay about two years back. It had roughly 60 sealed atari 2600 games. Most of the titles were common and there were many duplicates. Among the lot were 2 sealed crazy climbers. Now, since this individual sold this lot, I've seen 3 or 4 sealed crazy climbers on ebay in the last 2 years. Now, does this mean that a sealed crazy climber souldn't be a rarity? I think not.
Just because someone gets lucky and finds a stockpile of rare carts, that doesn't make them any less or more rare, just easier to immediately acquire.

Back in 1986 I had around 50 or 60 2600 games. I had a list floating around here somewhere... I remember selling all my atari games for $20 back in 1988 to buy a NES. That was a mistake!
Today, I have a quired all those games plus a bunch more (up to 465 US 2600 releases I think???) I never knew existed. I started collecting seriously back in 97-98 but I guess you could say I started in 96 with the NES. I am 23 if anyone was wondering.
BTW, I am very happy with all I have been able to aquire as an 'adult' owner of classic systems.

Ben,
I'm surprised you didn't mention the Imagic selector device in that complete list.

Today I spent $200 on video games.
But, now I can play hundreds of more games... Now I have a PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube. But, now I don't have any games for any of these systems. I love Halo as well as Super monkey ball and Super Smash Bros. Melee is a great game too. But what should I buy? And before anyone begs to know how I got these 3 systems for $200, K-mart decided to sell me their display systems to me since they were closing the store near me.
Back to the games though, what should I spend my money on? Activision Anthology perhaps? Are the bonus commecials and such really worth buying this title new?

Today at a salvation army, I picked up a decent Genesis lot for $25. The games are really the highlight of this deal. Among them was a complete Shining Force II, a Shining Force w/instructions, golden axe, lanstalker, and super hydlide. I also got two Avalon Hill board games.

Ok, I've tried to win multiple e-bay auctions for this as well as other Missile Command parts for my cabinet but have never got anything.
I am in need of a PCB and Marquee. A manual would be nice as well. Anyone have any of this stuff? I have $50 to offer for a PCB, and I was looking for an origional Marquee for around $15.MattG.

I have an extra eastern front and I'm fairly sure I have a spare Qix...
Shoot me an offer/trade list.

The chance that the final available sealed Obelisk game is NTSC is 3/4 (or 75%). Since there are currently 3 NTSC carts unaccounted for and 1 PAL cart unaccounted for, three quarters of the unaccounted for carts are in NTSC format. You know by now that the other party that was involved has at least one NTSC cart, possibly all three of them. The other party either has all NTSC carts or 2 NTSC carts and one PAL cart. These are the only two possibilities remaining.
I would theoretically bid $375 because, 75% of $500 is $375.

Wanted: Sky Skipper manual for 2600.
This is the last Parker Brothers Manual I need. I have Paypal. Can anyone help me out?

I wanted to mention that Sega made some gatefold boxes as well. I own a Sub Scan and a Tac Scan that are gatefold style. I'm not sure if there are others from Sega or not.

I thought I should post the dead carts I've found in this thread:
1 Berzerk
1 Carnival
1 Gremlins
1 Challenge of Nexar
1 Pitfall 2 (I fried this one myself so it doesn't really count)
I've gone through about 2,000 carts over the years and that's not a bad ratio of good to bad carts in my opinion.
Also, I'm a freak and test all my carts on new years day every year. I also test my trade bin around this same time each year. This year, I didn't find any dead out of the 460 in my collection or the 150 or so in my trade bin.
I also agree that BOMB carts are total peices of crapola. I think I'm quite lucky that the Z-tack I have still works.

Numan,
I just wanted to let you know that I am jealous. That Wing War you picked up was super nice. That was a great deal IMHO!
-
I know that John Cage own Motorodeo and Ikari Warriors that are NTSC. He proved it to me in Philly.

Ok, I know this isn't everything but it's all I can remember:
Atari 7800:
Pete Rose Baseball (4 carts to go!)
Atari 5200:
Pac-Man proto (Thanks to Al
)Atari 2600:
Quadrun
Glib
Mangia
Shuttle Orbiter
Death Trap
Silver Label Gravitar
Missile Command TB (Thanks Atariage!)
Congo Bongo box
5 or 6 Sears titles I needed
40 or so 2600 instructions I needed. This itself is unbelievable since I have nearly 400 unique US released instruction manuals. I guess I was the only one hunting down manuals on Saturday... Got some nice ones including Space Shuttle, Cosmic Swarm, and Steeplechase.
NES
Snow Brothers w/instructons
Genesis
Arcade's Greatest Hits (complete)
Bret Hull Hockey '95 prototype
Vectrex:
Sean Kelly Multicart
Man, I'm so surprised that a lot of people found copies of Jawbreaker. That was one title for 2600 I was sure I would be able to find in Philly for a decent price! I am also surprised I couldn't track down a waterworld either. Oh well, there's always Cincyclassic...

Man, that photo is so cool.
Albert, you are da man! -
I now own a quadrun. Bought it in Philly from Collector's Cards and Games (I think that was it?). Not sure if it's represented on the list but I'm guessing that it wasn't.
-
I won the Glib auction in at Phillyclassic so... now I own Glib too.
It wasn't represented in the list because I know the previous owner was not a poster on atariage. -
Yay me! I picked up a sliver label gravitar in Philly this weekend.

-
I've seen a lot of silver gravitars recently on ebay. There seem to be a bunch of them in Mexico where the television standard is also NTSC. I think the silver label gravitar should be a 6 or 7.

Yes, any preproduction (meaning it was made prior to the game being released) is a prototype.
-
hmmmm, I still need a glib... please check out my available page.

-
I collect and play all PAL exclusive titles I can get my hands on! I have also bought some 2600 titles that are 10 times cheaper in PAL format than NTSC. Road runner, Ikari Warriors, and Motorodeo to name a few.

Very nice find! That's the last Atari brand game that I need. I'm sure I won't be so lucky though. But wait, I did find that berenstain bears cart in the wild. I guess there is hope.
