  1. @Z28in82, CPUWIZ's quadrun is the one that best electronics sold in the 90's to collectors. It's not an origional. It is a prototype. However, Best Electronics sold a lot of these to many, many collectors. It would be great for someone who doesn't own quadrun and just wants to play it. But, the value of such an item is way under $100 IMHO. I think they initially sold for $39 back in the day. MattG.
  2. I wanted to bump this up since I updated my trade page again. I added some harder to find Colecovision games and a couple 2600 games to my list. I also added all the 2600 instructions I have available. There are some hard to find ones so let's trade some manuals! MattG.
  3. I wish I had good news but I messed with the jr. board for another hour and it looks like I'll never be able to use paddles with it. I'll bring it to Philly if anyone wants to see it, mess with it. MattG.
  4. Don't mean to be rude but I doubt you'll find a buyer willing to send you a money order for any of these items, since you only have one post. Some references would be nice too. Just a thought. Welcome to the boards! MattG.
  5. Well, I can't figure this one out. Regular joysticks work fine on my converted 2600 jr. that I turned into a portable. But, I can'r get paddle response from either controller port. The paddle buttons work but the paddles do not. I have tried paddles that work so that isn't the problem either. I think I've isolated the problem to pins 7 or nine since those are the only pins used on a paddle controller that aren't used on a regular joystick. I don't know where else to look or what could be wrong. Do both controller ports need to have pin 9 connected together or something. I know pin 9 has to do with the second player's paddle. I know that pin 7 is getting 5 volt + Anyone have any suggestions? Please keep in mind that I did cut a small portion of the RF part of the jr. board over where the reset/select swithes are located. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I do have a multimeter and know how to use it, for the most part. MattG.
  6. Today I walked into a pawn shop, spent $25 and walked out with... 80 2600 games, mostly dirty and common but highlights included a "The year 1999",GI Joe Color label,'RAIDERS LOST ARK' label variation, and an Activision Checkers. 16 Colecovision games, highlights were: Mr do's castle,Congo Bongo,Miner,Burgertime. 3 7800 games, all dirt common. 99 games for $25 is one hell of a deal now a days. This is the best find I've had in years! MattG.
  7. God I love posts like this. I always have been a big fan of sorting 2600 games by company. I am close on a bunch of companies. These are my NTSC companies I am closest completing: Coleco-Need the cassete tapes and kid vid unit w/cable. Atari-Waterworld,Road Runner (I have a PAL one),I guess I technically need quadrun too b/c I only have a prototype of that game. I'm convinced that Ikari Warriors,Motorodeo, and BMX airmaster do not exist as a red label NTSC format carts. Prove me wrong! Telesys-Ram It Tigervision-Jawbreaker,River Patrol,Espial,Springer Starpath-Party Mix,Rabbit Transit,Swords of Saros,Survival Island Specrtra-Gas Hog,Master Builder,Bumper Bash,Chase the Chuckwagon Apollo-Lochjaw (Hey the rom is different so it technically isn't a label variation. And Jaws is one of my favorite movies. Sears-I'm missing Cannon Man and 10 or so other titles. The other companies I haven't listed I either have every title or no titles. As of this post I have 430 NTSC US released titles, unique by company released, not counting label variations. I'm more proud that 350 of those have instructions though. MattG.
  8. Well, I have two MAME cabinets that I built myself. One is vertical, one is horizontal. Those are games though... I think the oddest thing I have that isn't an actual game that screams "I'm a freak" is my homemade 5200 joystick. It's made out of scrap wood, wires from a spare arcade cabinet, and duct tape. And it works way better than an origional 5200 joystick ever dreamed of working. Runner up would have to be the fact that I own 4 things made out of metal with pac man on them. 3 serving trays and a garbage can. I also have a qbert lunch box and 3 pacman drinking glasses. I'm proud to be a freak! MattG.
  9. There's no way I could stay away from www.atariprotos.com. I just wanted to see what other people had in their collections. CPUWIZ, I know a lot of the protos on atariprotos.com are yours as well. I realize I am a humble proto collector compared to you guys. Matt, I am curious how you would go about aquiring 18 prototypes at the same time??? That's the kind of deal I would dream of. My protos have not been dumped but I'm bringing them to Philly so that they can be. MattG.
  10. I have a clean/tested INTV one that I would trade or sell. The power botton has popped off but, the switch/system still works great. I'm looking for $20 system only. Or, with ten loose games for $25. Something like that. I do not have a switchbox to go with this system. No bites here and it'll probably go to Philly. MattG.
  11. Man, he must know something I don't. Here's how I came up with the price: Genesis controller $5 Parts $1.50 Hour and 1/2 of my time $20 I don't see how he could only charge $20. That's like giving them away for free. Also, I'm looking to trade these controllers for the most part, not make money off of them. Also, will John offer to fix the controller for free if it stops working? MattG.
  12. I think we should start a list of all owned lab loaner atari releases or possibly all lab loners with an actual stickers/dates. Like the Parker bros. stickers saying the title and ROM size or, the Activision sticker with title/production number. I want to try and keep best electronics prototypes as well as hardware out of this thread. Also, I do NOT have a lab loaner pepsi invaders. It's a long story that I'd rather not discuss here. Let's just say I got burned bad on that deal. I can also understand if someone doesn't want to post what they have. You could simply state how many protos wih labels/stickers with dates ect. that you have. I own: 2600: Pengo 01-04-84 Gremlins 04-23-84 Enduro 1-28-83 8 bit: Keystone Kapers 1983,1984 NOTE: This is also signed witht the initails B.H. Not sure if that was who you were supose to send it back to or the programer or what??? MattG.
  13. OK, I'm sure I'm going to forget something but here goes: 2600 X ? 5200 7800 X 2 Sears Video Arcade II 130 XE 1200 XL Jaguar NES X 4 SNES N64 Master Gear Convertor Genesis X 3 32X Saturn Dreamcast PSX Colecovision X 2 INTV ODY 2 C64 X 2 1972 Odyssey Neo Geo AES RCA Studio II Vectrex TG-16 (broken) Channel F Handheld cart systems: Virtual Boy Microvision NGPC Nomad LYNX Game Gear Pocket Game Boy And... I once had these but gave them away: TI99/4a TSR 80 MattG.
  14. For anyone interested, I'm making a batch of verctrex controllers from genesis controllers. These function VERY WELL and, are much easier to use than an origional vec controller. I'll have them available for trade as well as for sale at Phillyclassic in March. Not sure on prices yet but they shouldn't be over $35. I will also have a vectrex set up so you can test it out before you buy one. I stand behind my work and if you have a problem with your controller after the show, I'll fix it free of charge. MattG.
  15. All of my carts fit into my 1200XL. I think that the Epyx ones were really tight though. I just used some force.
  16. I never really desired boxes and instructions for 7800 games... I just have to play this damn game! You can probably count me out on that complete one. It will easily reach over $40. MattG.
  17. For anyone interested, I'm making a batch of verctrex controllers from genesis controllers. These function very well and are much easier to use than an origional vec controller. I'll have them available for trade and sale at Phillyclassic in March. MattG.
  18. Here is my take on the rarity of the 7800 carts in question: Ballblazer red-2 Desert Falcon-3 Mario Bros.-3 Title Match pro wrest.-4 Water Ski-4 Mean 18-6 And some others that I think need revising as well: Planet Smashers-5 Summer Games-4 I agree with MMF on nearly every cart in question. MattG.
  19. Man, I thought I'd be able to pick this one up but screw it for that price! I'm going to hold on to my 8-bit copy of bounty bob strikes back instead. It's the same game. MattG.
  20. I have chosen my favorite label of each company that had a bunch of carts with artwork on them. Activision-HERO Atari-Crazy Climber Imagic-Trick Shot picture label Sears-Stellar Track picture label Sega-Spy Hunter (Awsome!) Tigervision-Espial Telesys-Demolition Herby Apollo-Shark Attack Data Age-Frankenstein's Monster Coleco-Smurfs Save the Day 20th Century fox-Revenge of the beefstake Tomatoes Parker Bros.-Star Wras: ROTJ, Death Star Battle US Games-Squeeze Box CBS-Blueprint (not the cart, but the manual! to die for! Runners up catergory: Gremlins,Swordquest Waterworld,Out of Control,Threshold,Beamrider,Pitfall II,Bank Heist,Crash Dive. Some really nice manuals:Beany Bopper,Worm War I,Dolphin,HERO,All three mythicon games,Mega Force,Tapper(Color), Thunderground, Keystone Kapers, Plaque Attack, Space Shuttle. MattG.
  21. Certainly, I'd buy it if it was under $500. That's the going rate for one now a days. I remember a boxed one on ebay, about a year ago, fetching $750. MattG.
  22. Yes, any WIP (work in progress) cart is a hell of a score! Many congrats! MattG.
  23. I have quite a nice NES collection, it was a huge part of remembering my childhood, ect. and I still have no desire to spend that kind of money on either of those particular carts. Here's a Metal Slug that is on ebay right now. I think the reserve is $2400. This one isn't sealed either. I did mean a sealed Metal Slug would easily get over $5000, not a complete one. I don't think that many Neo Geo carts came sealed. But, a lot of the early ones did, and the origional Metal Slug was an early release for that system. As far as speculation goes... If it weren't for speculation, maybe Atlantis II would have never been discovered. (How about that spacechase "monogramed" version?) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...18&category=187 MattG.
  24. How about this Centipede label variation. I think this one is harder to come by as well. MattG.
