For a 7800 that has oxidation and general crud built up on the contacts in the cartridge port, what are good ways to clean the gunk out?
-
So when I plug this little sucker in, it emits a horrible buzzing noise that decreases once I squeeze the case...not that I did this for very long, fearing something bad happening? Any ideas what might be doing this before I crack the sucker open?

WTB: boxes and manuals for 2600 carts (rarity 1, 2, & 3
Zwackery replied to Zwackery's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I really don't have much for trade right now (my last round of trading pretty much depleted my extras), so with a little tax refund I thought I might pick up a few minor items (since I can only gaze longingly at some of the more big ticket things). -

Since the Atari Age 7800 directory is a little lacking in this info, I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any differences between the boxes (and instructions) for NTSC versus PAL releases. Specifically, is there language other than English on the boxes (as in some of the 2600 international releases) or is the CX78-- on the box spine ended with a "P" like some 2600 PAL releases? Was the 7800 far enough along in Atari's release that they just settled on a standard box for distribution regardless of country of release? Thanks for any help.

Out of the 2 Pole Position II 7800 boxes I personally opened, one had the plain text label (that I also got as the pack-in w/ my 7800), and the other had the picture label. I couldn't find any distinguishing marks as to date of manufacture or origin that would clue one in based on an examination of the box, but maybe someone else has figured this out...

After reading about the show for a few years on post-event internet reports, I finally made it in 2002 and had an enjoyable time, plus I finally went over 300 Atari 2600 carts. I have been waiting for another CinciClassic, hopefully 2005 will be the year.

I never had a Lynx, but thought it was kind of an interesting system. Lately I've been toying with getting a GBA, mainly to play some of the classic era offerings, but I've looked over the games for the Lynx and see a lot of great titles there. So, if I was looking to buy a brand new in the box Lynx II, where would be the best place to shop and what would a reasonable price be?

Has this auction gone crazy? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...me=STRK:MEWA:IT Is the cart really worth that much? If so, maybe that's why I don't have it...

Thanks for the tip, but it flat out does not work on my Jag. It doesn't matter how long I have the unit on, Zero 5 is unplayable. Just out of curiousity, what's the serial # on your Jag?
-
My current Jag unit - serial #K148006204 - will not play Zero 5. I understand that this is apparently a problem with early production Jag units, but could someone who understands the hardware as it relates to the production run please explain what units will play Zero 5 and what particular sequence I need to be on the alert for in the serial #? An earlier forum on this topic seemed to provide a lot of conflicting information, and I actually wouldn't mind hearing some technical explanations from those who understand the hardware history of the Jag. Thanks.
