  1. Got it shortly before 2pm today, and just in a little flipping through it, it is truly a wonderful resource. I'm going to read it in more detail tonight.
  2. Sadly last week was midterms, so the club canceled their meeting, and this week is fall break, so no students. It's next Wednesday or bust! Either way I will get the game off to the next recipient in one week.
  3. Got the cart today, will be taking it to the Game Lab tomorrow night for play and review!
  4. Somebody just let me know when I should supply my contact info.
  5. I think this is a shirt produced now not BITD.
  6. I really detest dick moves like that. Do you think someone backchanneled the seller?
  7. I bought one of everything that Radio Shack had listed in their catalog in 1994. Lots of fun collecting in the mid-90s.
  8. The cartridge sits in the coupler, and the coupler slides into the box. http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-2600-vcs-spy-hunter_8373.html People probably hated the coupler and pitched it, hence the rarity.
  9. I would like to be in line to receive this cart. I plan on bringing it to my students' Video Game Club and getting them to do a review for a new show that the club will be doing featuring game reviews.
  10. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 112110996698 Went for $180.27, guess I should have hit the BIN?
  11. Haven't seen this box surface on eBay in a long, long time... eBay Auction -- Item Number: 222214743313 $305 after 40 bids among 4 bidders. Pictures added for reference as to box quality...
  12. So is this a scan of an original letter you have with the patch or just a scan of the appropriate letter that can be downloaded from various sites, including Digital Press?
  13. True NTSC CIB of this title would be several hundred dollars probably.
  14. I combed back through some threads. Todd Rogers has one sewn onto the jacket he got from Activision. You have one, I have one (got mine on eBay, and the seller was in Canada), Rick has one, and there was one other on eBay (sold for $200-300). So that would be 5, unless Rick bought the one on eBay.
  15. The one you have pictured. They have a funky homemade appearance.
  16. The rarity guide is outdated. It is also the point of debate, contention, and much discussion, so much so that it has its own forum: http://atariage.com/forums/forum/15-rarity-guide/
  17. I'm not exactly clear on the details of Riffraff's story - and looking back through my AA message archive, I saw where I made reference to him pulling the patches out of just one bag - but AFAIK there was just the one halfmoon Beamrider among what he found. I don't have the simple Activision logo patch that is pictured. What is that from? I do have the Starmaster - Master patch, but it isn't currently with the rest of the Activision patch collection.
  18. Yes, I still have the one I acquired from Riffraff. The aborted distribution is one of the great mysteries of gaming. Aside from the one I own, I have only seen one other, and that was in a picture. With the great patch discovery of spring 2006, many stacks of patches were put into the market, so previously rare ones like Toy Bizarre or Dolphin (Secret Society) became much more common, and already common ones like Spider Fighter or Laser Blast dropped to next to nothing. IMHO, the rarest patches are 1) Halfmoon Beamrider, 2) Trail Drive for Intellivision, and probably now 3) H.E.R.O. Since so many people need that particular Beamrider patch to complete their collections, I would expect the bidding to easily go north of $500, but I'm not sure where the ceiling would be.
  19. Are you going to be at E3 this year? It was great meeting you there last year. I actually wasn't planning on going to E3, but one of the senior projects from my game design program placed in the top 5 in the collegiate competition, so it's off to LA I go.
  20. Finally started unboxing all the stuff. Good to see all the gang together. Going to playtest everything over the summer. Next, unpack and figure out how to display memorabilia.
  21. I have neither an original release set nor the retail display, so I had to make my own shadow box. Good luck with your sale.
  22. Huh? I have no problem doing so. What device are you using? And how are you making the bid?
  23. Possibly. It would likely depend on what is being shipped and how much the shipping cost is.
