  1. I like the grey box releases and try to collect them. That Pac-Man is nigh impossible to find. It would be interesting to know the general production run on these late releases.
  2. This is the first time I'll ever be able to attend E3, and I'm definitely going to stop by the Videogame History Museum booth.
  3. You guys really think that H.E.R.O. is a bad game?
  4. It's a Taiwan V-case: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-2600-vcs-grand-prix_17668.html
  5. It's probably been 10 years or so since I finished my CIB 5200 collection with the exception of BBSB. So yeah, you could say I'm a patient guy when it comes to acquiring this title.
  6. I'll display prints of all sizes, but I typically am only interested in stuff like this produced BITD.
  7. Oh yeah, CPUWIZ not only made the label in 2002, but to add to the confusion of maybe-not-Wizard games in a Xonox case he then sent the whole hot mess through a wormhole back to 1988. Toodles!
  8. CPUWIZ does, too. It's an extremely difficult box to get. The only reason I have a boxed copy is because the quality of the box had noticeable wear and many people passed, although I was more than happy with it.
  9. Speaking of baggies, Sword of Saros and Survival Island also had no boxes and were shipped in plastic bags, but of course as Starpath games they were on cassette not cartridge.
  10. The pack-in 32-in-1 may not have come with a box, but there was a version sold that did have one: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-2600-vcs-32-in-1-game-cartridge_7201.html It didn't have the standard cardboard case, but the foam "box" that came with Tooth Protectors constitutes the box. It also had the external shipping box that the entire set came in. Pretty much if you have the foam "box" and the paper ribbon that went around the box you can expect to see a major increase in sale value for a set when compared to the bare cart and manual combo.

    SOLD

This is the red rocket set you want: http://atariage.com/magazines/magazine_page.html?MagazineID=4&CurrentPage=12 I've been looking for this for ages. Couldn't get one BITD and can't get one now.
  12. 09 October 2004, but I was using the site for a couple of years prior before signing up. Before that I primarily used rec.games.video.atari and rec.games.video.classic.
  13. Yes, absolutely. Post some pictures.
  14. I miss good ol' Crunchy. I hope he's still enjoying his games.
  15. I own three of these. One is hanging on my office door. It is a delightful intersection of 80s culture.
  16. I believe it's more about the claim that it is NOS and clearly not.
  17. It should be PAL: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-2600-vcs-ms-pac-man_8366.html
  18. Match up everything that you can (cart, box, manual / cart, manual / box, manual). Be very honest about the condition of everything (and err on the side of being overly nitpicky) and provide plenty of pics. Sell everything that is matched as an individual set (i.e., one game per sale). Yes, it would be more of a chore, but you will maximize selling. Group loose carts into lots and sell each lot individually. You have some decent games. And you have some desirable boxes (too bad about the quality of many of them, but you do have quite a few that are in reasonably decent shape). You should do pretty well with a sale. If you want more specifics, just PM me. I own everything you have, so I'm not out for anything myself, but I do think that your stuff will find many happy homes.
  19. There have been claims at finding cart "03" - Space Mission - as seen in this ad: http://www.atarimania.com/2600/boxes/hi_res/space_mission_text_cart_2.jpg as well as an "04" - Space Combat released by Atari, not Sears. Just throwing those in the ring to show the varied, wondrous, and contentious history of Atari.
  20. I wonder if these gold-stamped carts were released before or after they lost their lawsuit against Nintendo.
  21. One gatefold CIB, probably a couple more in VCS console boxes (to make the sets complete), and then a few loose as test carts. When hitting yard sales in the summer, I sometimes bring along a Combat cart when I ask people if they have any old games "y'know, like these old Atari ones" - it can be a great memory jog for something forgotten in the basement.
  22. The second seller was really nice, answered all my questions, and sent along additional photos. The stitching looks accurate for an Activision patch, and it had the white backing, although the usual notice about application was not present, but those do fall off as the glue dries. The image looks like it's from the INTV version. If it was done 3rd party, it had at least some effort made.
