Hi - I'm a small press publisher and we're currently putting together a one-time magazine dedicated to 'everything 80s' - television, videogames, candy, soda pop (New Coke & The Pop Shoppe) and much more. Can anyone give me more information about the E.T. 2600 release? When was it launched, how long before it was deemed a flop? Also, I have a great story about the rise of the Atari 2600 - I'd love to receive any thoughts from you about Atari videogames from the 80s... what games were most popular, why did it catch on and become such a cult favourite, are there still people today who play the original 2600 machines? Why have some games from the 80s stood the test of time? Any comments you may have about Atari in the 1980s and the E.T. game would be greatly appreciated.
