  1. I'm going with Frisky Tom on this one...
  2. 36,500 I feel like I wasted so much time on level 8. It took me a while to realize I could run under the high-bouncing balls rather than try to duck under them...
  3. 96,950 in Wave 13 (another Pterry Wave...) Excellent score, Cafeman!
  4. 54,100 Got stuck on Wave 8 - The first pterry wave. I remember I was always able to nail the pterodactyl when I would play on the actual system. Ahh, the memories... Second attempt: 64,400 - One buzzard away from passing the pterry wave...
  5. I used to play this all the time when I was younger. I'm going to have to put some time in on it tonight...
  6. I've been using Kat 5200 quite a bit. For the most part, it reporduces eveything pretty faithfully. I've used MESS as well, but it seems to be a bit glitchy...
  7. What if it were based on the 5200 Trak-Ball rather than the console itself? Since it would have the games and all the neccessary control buttons already built into the unit, it would easily solve the size issue. And rather than using controls based on the 5200's, you could use 7800 controls...
  8. Looks great Tempest! This'll be one to get for sure!
  9. I started out loose a few years ago just to get a chance to play some of the games that I never did when I was younger. After a while I decided to try and get everything boxed. I managed to grab an old VHS cabinet from my in-laws when they moved and it stores them perfectly. Not too big, not too small, but just right...
  10. I store my games in a VHS video cabinet I got from my in-laws when they were moving. The space on the shelves is the perfect size for boxed games and the racks on the doors perfectly fit loose ones.
  11. I actually prefer the original font. Most Atari-made 5200 arcade ports (Joust, Moon Patrol, Robotron, etc.) used it, and if this was the way Tempest was going to be as well.. then that's the one I want. I fully agree! Tempest is a classic game and the 5200, for many of us, is a classic system. What better way to maintain the classic integrity than by completing it as he would have back then? Keep it up, Keithen!
  12. Thanks for the screenshots! Can't wait to see what else he's done on it! BTW, the font looks fine. Personally, that's one of the things that helps define it as an Atari 5200 game. Keep up the great work, Keithen and Dutchman!
  13. Agreed. Everyone needs to really take a step back and look at the big picture. No one programs 5200 games for a living anymore; everyone that does homebrew games does it for fun, for the challenge, and to contribute something to the classic gaming community. Completing these games takes time and I'm sure that as Keithen makes more progress, Dutchman will let us know... Keithen and Dutchman, on behalf of 5200 fans everywhere, thanks for all the hard work that's being put into this project and keep up the great work!!! -Ron
  14. Try www.atari2600.com - They have a pretty decent selection at reasonable prices. Fast shipping, too...
  15. I don't see the link either... I'm sure that if a limited amount were produced (say, 50), that people would easily want to snag 'em. I think the problem would potentially be with copyright / intellectual property issues...
  16. The "POW" comes back after each coin level (after every 5 levels or so)...
  17. I have a few commons that I can donate for the cause once it's ready to be produced... Al, is there anything that would help you from a production standpoint before common carts are traded in? (i.e., would you prefer that labels are removed, carts scrubbed, etc.?)
  18. I've been wondering for a while which 2600 games do 5200 fans find as absolutely essential and why. Here's my list: Stargate - Great gameplay; extremely close to the arcade for the 2600 Millipede - excellent game; simply mandatory Road Runner - excellent arcade port; not released on any other system Adventure - just because!
  19. I wouldn't worry about that - we still have Cloak and Dagger to look for!
  20. Just got mine yesterday! Quite a nice surprise to be waiting for me after my wife and I drove 3 hours home from my sister's wedding! The packaging and the extras were top notch! Thanks to Ron (Cafeman) and Albert for all of the hard work that they've put into this game!!!
