    ADVENTURE 2

Awesome news, Al! If all goes according to plan, it should be in the mail next week! And, of course, I'll be out of town next week for work!

    ADVENTURE 2

I agree, but I also think it's important for archival purposes as well. Sure, it's a homebrew game but it's also part of the Atari legacy and history. Hope to see more before it comes out! -Ron

    ADVENTURE 2

Awesome pics, Al! All the work that's going into this game coming out is really interesting!
  4. As cool as it looks, I don't think I can justify spending $42 just on a box...
  5. The 5200 was/is by far my favorite Atari system, but I have to say that was a riot!!! My favorite line: "...and why is there a door on it? Is this a video game console or a f***ing closet?!"

Cool pics, Al! Hopefully we can see more as the physical production goes on! -Ron

    ADVENTURE 2

Since this has got to be the most anticipated homebrew release, it might be a good idea to take a couple of quick photos during the production for historical purposes. Cafeman's website gives a detailed account of the actual programming, and I think it would be interesting to detail what goes on from a production side as well. Just a thought... -Ron
  8. That's cute...I wish my cat would do that instead of knocking the ornaments off the Christmas tree...
  9. I tend to do a lot of eBay sales to overseas bidders (mostly records, CDs and t-shirts), and I always try to keep the shipping reasonable. For example, I charge $8.00 for records and t-shirts overseas and the cost is usually between $6 and $10. But $30 - that's WAAAAYYY out of hand... While I agree that the best way to avoid paying for overly inflated shipping prices (I've seen one guy charge $8.00 domestic for a game and $7.00 domestic for a CD!) is to avoid bidding on the item, it usually doesn't work. I think that most people jack up their shipping costs because they know that it you really want the item, you'll pay for the shipping to get it to you house. The lesson today: Caveat Emptor...
  10. Atari 2600 Lot: Four-switch woody system w/ paddles Krull - Complete in Box Swordquest Earthworld - Complete in Box (w/ poster) Reactor - Complete in Box Combat - Picture label cart $18.00 plus $10.00 shipping Thought it was a hell of a deal because I was hunting for Krull and saw it reach over $30.00 complete every time. Couple that with the fact that I needed the console and you got a freakin' bargain!!!

    Dig Dug II

I don't think it's been ported to any other system. It looks like it could make a great 5200 game; the only problem is getting around the licensing...
  12. Can't wait for this! Hope to see you guys there!
  13. LOL, really? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=190032500229 I did a completed items search and saw that as well. If I were only looking for it a couple of weeks earlier... It looks like Best Electronics may have it - $38 boxed. Thanks for everyone's help! -Ron
  14. Atari2600.com has a few of these in the Memorabilia section...
  15. Does anyone happen to know where I might be able to grab this and what would be a fair price? There's one on eBay now CIB, but the guy wants $130 for it. (The guy is notorious for being overpriced!) Any help would be appreciated!
  16. Dear Santa, This year for Christmas, I would like: Conquest of Mars Alligator People Quadrun (who doesn't want it?!) Adventure II (5200) Cloak and Dagger (5200; I know it's far from finished, but I can dream can't I?) And now for some other stuff... MISFITS Reunion with Glenn, Jerry, Doyle and Robo ("Earth A.D." Lineup - can't beat it!) A Monty Python Reunion Tour Every CD that I ever had and got rid of back again! and last but not least... My wife saying she's pregnant! (Hopefully this will come early! )
  17. Very impressive collection! Kudos!!!
  18. It's funny...I was just reading about this on the 5200 forum!!! It looks great so far; I'm excited to see the final version once it's done! -Ron
  19. I've always been a 5200 fan and most of my collection is based on that system. But there were a few 2600 games I started collecting for various reasons. Phoenix I grabbed because I remember it being an awesome game; Krull, Millipede and Stargate because they were planned for the 5200 and never released (in Krull's case, never really started); and Alien and Turmoil because a friend had recommended them. I finally got a 2600 a few months ago (pretty cheap in a lot of 3 or 4 boxed games I was looking for) so I can play some of my 2600 collection!
  20. I always thought that Joust on the 5200 was a great port - I used to play the hell out of it when I was younger! It's not as addicting as some of the other games for the system, but it's definitely worth grabbing. You won't be disappointed!
  21. That's him. Just about every boxed game he sells is priced for twice as much as it should be.
  22. You can try www.4jays.net or www.atari2600.com. I've ordered stuff from both of them before and they're great with everting. Both places are pretty fast with shipping, so you should have it in no time... If the guy that's selling an unopened copy for $30.00 on eBay is who I think it is, you may want to steer clear. He tends to be VERY overpriced...
  23. Centipede. That game has a ton of great memories for me. I remember being 10 years old and playing it thinking "This is the best game...EVER!!!" I can't remember how many times I've played it, but that was one game I just kept playing and playing...
