I've seen his auctions too and felt the same thing. Thanks to CPUWIZ's post, I'm planning to grab it from Atari2600.com and get a couple other games while I'm at it... Thanks for everybody's input!

I've been on the hunt for a boxed "The Dreadnaught Factor" for a couple of months now and I haven't seen it up on eBay for any decent price. This is the only one that's up there now: http://cgi.ebay.com/SHRINKWRAPPED-MINT-ATA...1QQcmdZViewItem As nice as it looks, $42 plus $7 shipping seems a little steep to me. I'm inclined to grab it simply because I'm tired of trying to hunt for it. On the other hand, I have a feeling that if I get it I'll see another one up there for much less. Any thoughts?

That's just not right!

Goofing off with my not-quite favorite 5200 games
Scihorror replied to Gabriel's topic in Atari 5200
I'm a big fan of the 5200 Mario Bros. While I agree that the colors were always "off", I thought the gameplay was just as great as the arcade. I remember when I first got it ages ago I would sit in front of the TV for hours after school on it... -
Adventure, Phoenix and Krull top my list at the moment...

My vote has to go to Pengo on this one. I remember that as one of the games I never got a chance to grab until a couple of years ago. Ever since I got it, I haven't come away from it!!!

I think you can get away with spending about $8.00 boxed plus shipping from eBay. (I think that's about how much I paid for mine a few months ago...) It doesn't pop up all that often boxed, but not many people seem to go after it. If you're just interested in the cart, there are usually a couple up there for inder $5.00

I'm running Atari800Win PLus 4.0. Is there some trick to getting them to appear, or are they supposed to show up when you start up the game?

OK, this is going to sound real stupid, but I can't get the paddles to come up in Xari Arena. (I'm running it on two different emulators: Atari800Win and Kat5200.) Any ideas as to what to do? -Ron

There are four that I remember off the top of my head: "THE HUMANOID MUST NOT ESCAPE" "GOT THE HUMANOID, GOT THE INTRUDER" "INTRUDER ALERT! INTERUDER ALERT!" And who can forget the classic phrase: "CHICKEN, FIGHT LIKE A ROBOT!" There may be one or two others, but that's all I can think of...

Berzerk, Centipede, Kangaroo, Qix and Ms. Pac-Man are absolutely mandatory. If you can, try to get your hands on a Trak-Ball as well... Space Dungeon is great, but extremely addictive. (But that's the hallmark of a truly classic game, isn't it?) If you get it, try and clear your schedule for at least three days...

Does anyone happen to know where I may be able to purchase the Xevious and Super Pac-Man reproduction carts for the 5200? I've been checking around and I can't seem to find any...
