  1. 20th Century Fox was making 2600 games in the 1990s? I don't think even the Tracey Ullman show Simpsons bits were around anywhere near early enough for something like that.
  2. There may be that many cars on-screen, but there's pretty much never more than two on the same horizontal line at any one time.
  3. I think the Demon Attack/Phoenix connection came more out of the Intellivision version of DA, which threw in more stuff similar to the Phoenix arcade, like the mothership to chip away at.
  4. How about a Flashback2 RevC petition? Or just getting those "fixed" games to the community somehow.
  5. There's also my hack "Shopping Spree", though that kinda removes the 'jungle' element of Pitfall. ... and no spear-throwing.
  6. Didn't the arcade front line use a joystick for moving and a rotary knob for aiming? I wonder how difficult (or even practical) it would be to change the controls to use something like a a joystick and a driving controller in different ports? Seems like an idea, but I have trouble imagining someone trying to manage all those controls at once.
  7. Works fine on both my 7800s, though it takes a lot shoving to make sure it's seated well enough to work properly.
  8. Gotta be the Airlock "Torpedoes". Every other choice at least sorta kinda looks like what it's supposed to be if you've got an imagination.

    Mr Do!

I'll buy that for a dollar!
  10. If nothing else, Bentley showed up again in Atari Karts for the Jag.
  11. I bought a used 7800 for ten bucks back when I was in college in 1992, and practically wore the thing out playing Robotron (which was like one of the only games I had for it at the time) Now, I've got a spare 7800 and a Cuttle Cart 2. Good, good stuff.
  12. True, it was already 99.5 percent meaningless, but now it's TOTALLY meaningless. But hey, any thread that mentions any of my hacks has meaning to me. (cough)
  13. You mentioned my Luigi hack in another thread, and still ask this? Though really, my hack bases more on Mario Bros. than Super Mario. Also, a barrel replaces the fire? If you're going for the Super Mario aspect, why not one of chompy plant things?
  14. Yay for you! This means the poll is totally meaningless now.
  15. I'd tell ya to go with Luigi's Lunchbreak and/or Shopping Spree, but that's only 'cause I did those hacks. Ummm.. IMO I did a better job on Shopping Spree
  16. I use a Saitek P220 USB gamepad - inexpensive with a nice feel - It's layed out much like your average Playstation controller.
  17. Don't forget PacMan Plus's "slightly improved graphics Ms. Pac Man" hack. I can't forget, 'cause I asked the question that got it made. (Thanks again PacManPlus and Bakasama)
  18. Seems Eggomania is already at least halfway there.
  19. IIRC, it worked about the same as the 2600 adapter for 5200 - basically a mostly-whole 7800 that uses the 5200 for controls and video output.
  20. I picked up a spare 7800 at the Cinciclassic for $20. It was a pretty excellent deal, coming with two controllers, power supply, and 15 2600 games (though 3 of them were Combats) A Cuttle Cart 2 makes one think about having backup hardware.
  21. A few suggestions/ideas along these lines: Klax - It's a one-button game anyway, just make it compatible with 2600 sticks. Choplifter - some versions of this game use a control scheme with a short tap on the button firing the gun, and holding it down rotating the chopper. Of course it would be better to just scrap it and port the old/good Apple and other computers version. Ninja Golf - change controls so single button attacks/throws stars, and press up to jump. Midnight Mutants - Since the right button jumps to message/inventory screen, change it so that is done using the pause button. Seems the are other games that use the right button in a similar way. Scrapyard Dog - Haven't played enough of this to say really, but using UP to jump and button to throw cans looks reasonable. and ... stuff.
  22. It probably don't beat Lemmings, but Worms is up there in number of platforms as well, especially if you start counting different variations.
