    Grrrr

Definitely a jack (or dumb) @$$. I'll bet he pays $20 for a pair of socks too.

The trick is to never bid more than you are willing to pay. And only do it at the last moment! NEVER bid early in an auction!

    Grrrr

I hate snipers just as much as anyone, but isn't the point of putting something on an auction site to get the most money for it? How is it unethical to bid on an auction?
  4. The ones I found myself playing the most were Star Raiders, Donkey Kong, DK Jr., Dig Dig, Popeye, and Millipede. I was really into arcade conversions, and these were 100x better than their 2600 counterparts.

    WORKS wow

Eh... They can't be bothered to do research. There's MONEY to be made!!
  6. Not that I know of, but I'd love to get something started. Maybe closer to winter since the rest of the country is freezing their buns off up north. Heh Heh Heh...
  7. Sounds cool. Just wish I had a machine that would make use of it.
  8. Inside Atari Basic by Bill Carris (I think that's the spelling.) Anyone else use this book to learn BASIC? It's got to be my FAVORITE book simply because it was easy and entertaining to read. I too aspire to write my future books and manuals in that style! My favorite part: The robot holding the sign above his head that read "STRANGE CONCEPTS"
  9. Why? It's probably the WORST version of the game! Stick to the Lynx version (or better yet, use MAME to play the real thing.)

    WORKS wow

I guess they consider them "RARE" because they're not produced anymore? They're common to us, but to someone who hasn't seen one in 20 years, I guess they're rare.
  11. I haven't read anything about the screen size for this new Nintendo money sucker... Is it the same L & W as the GBA?
  12. I don't think that was emulation, but a port.
  13. Most were added in the 2002 year. Check http://www.ataritimes.com/arcade/reviews because I just revamped that page with more scores. I'd LIKE to add more (as I've done with the consoles) to make it more complete. I've still gotta create a form for it though... BTW, Space Duel was submitted by Chris Federico.
  14. Well, I liked it! http://www.ataritimes.com/arcade/reviews/r...crossbones.html Of the Atari arcade games I've actually played, I'd have to say that Relief Pitcher is my least favorite. I could never figure out those weird controls!
  15. With the talk of the new GBA coming out, I visited IGN.COM to see what the best rated GBA games were. I hadn't noticed this before, but it looks like they've reviewed several hombrew Lynx games! Champ Rally (6.0) http://pocket.ign.com/articles/165/165637p1.html Remnant (3.0) http://pocket.ign.com/articles/165/165134p1.html Lexis (5.0) http://pocket.ign.com/articles/163/163235p1.html Ponx http://pocket.ign.com/articles/161/161996p1.html The reviews are pretty old, but I never noticed them before...

    MK on Mame62

One thing to try is lowering the frame rate. I have a P3-800 and the only way I can get MKII to run with 100% frames is to turn the sound off.
  17. I'm guessing he's in Las Vegas since that's what it says in his profile.
  18. Urban Champion and 10 Yard Fight get my vote. Ugh!
  19. I think the best depends on what OS you are using. I use z26 on Win2000 and it's slow as molassas. (I guess because it's a DOS app.) None of the Windows 2600 emulators are that great. I wish someone would make a 2600 emu in the style of Handy.
  20. How much did the 2600 cost in 1979? About $200? If you adjust for inflation, that $200 in today's dollars would be: $455! Considering that the Gamecube is $150 and the PS2 and Xbox are $200, and have technology miles beyond the 2600, these are pretty good deals!
  21. I can't stand Fileplanet. They're a PITA (Pain In The A__.) Besides, I've already got someone (besides myself) willing to host the file. Haven't really done much with the project lately. I'm close to finishing the CTF version of the map, but I haven't done much testing/tweaking on it. As for the full MOD... Again, not much progress lately. (After CTF, that is my next priority.) Anyone out there experienced with model and/or MOD making would be greatly valued by me for this project.
  22. If you scan it in high res monochrome, you could run it through an OCR then drop the text into babelfish.altavista.com to translate it. (Ooh... That's the work part, though...)
  23. Anyone else having problems with this version? Seems like fewer games work than before...
  24. Hey all, Has anyone but me ever seen an Atari arcade? I mean an arcade actually owned by either Atari or Atari Games? Years ago there was an arcade (of all places) in Winter Haven, FL called Atari Expo. I saved a token, a "fun point" token and several prize tickets from this arcade all with the Atari logo on them. I noticed that Good Deal Games has a token museum and sent them some scans. http://www.gooddealgames.com/Token_Museum.html So, anyone else ever seen an Atari arcade before?
