  1. I wonder if the seller even knew Waterworld was a rare game? Everything else in the pile was a common.

  3. That was a cool song. I don't usually like Country, but it had an Atari in the video, so I'll go for it! Thanks for finding that. Here's another one to remind you of the 80's. http://launch.yahoo.com/artist/default.asp...rtistID=1006971
  4. There's also a ROM of Sonic the Hedgehog for the SNES.
  5. Cool. I see you're from Sheffield! Have you seen the Def Leppard plaque?
  6. For those of you who can't wait to see how the 2002 Issue turned out, check out the updates to the Year End page! http://www.ataritimes.com/yearend Or, you can just click on these screenshots: Contents page (with governmental style blacked out text) http://www.ataritimes.com/store/images/200...02_contents.gif Some samples of the pages (too small to read the actual text. The blue lines in the center is the binding.) http://www.ataritimes.com/store/images/2002_pages.gif I can't wait to get it back from the printers!
  7. By the way, it turned out to be 104 pages... 4 more than last year! And at a cheaper price than last years too!
  8. Well, I did get behind by a few days since my printer died and I had to go buy a new one. Plus, I had this paper due Thursday night for a class that had been eating away at my time and mental energy. I did print the copy on my new "much higher quality than my old one" printer last night. I *JUST* a few moments ago got back from the place where I'm having it made. It'll probably take some time for them to make the issues and I'm hoping to get them all mailed out next Friday at the latest. Since it takes a few days for mail to arrive (plus the extra volume the post office has to deal with) I'm hoping you will get it on or around Dec. 17th. Thanks for your patience. I think you will find it pays off once you see the final product!
  9. Since you do mention PARC and this is about Atari networking, you might also want to mention that PARC developed Ethernet too (as a faster way to get data to their fancy new laser printers.) Got that info from the Book/video set of Triumph of the Nerds by Bob Cringely. God, I love computer history!
  10. Nice of him to scan the whole thing, don't you think?
  11. Due to the huge response (twice as much as last year!), I've decided to extend the deadline a few more days! That will give everyone an added chance to get a copy if they're just reading this. (Plus, it helps me out a lot to know how many to print!) The new deadline for getting in pre-orders is December 6. At midnight EST, the price goes from $12 to $15! Thanks everyone for the great response!
  12. The 2002 Issue page has been revamped. It includes a list of advertisers (who you can thank for lowering the price from last years issue by visiting their websites), and an acknowledgements section. Here's what the cover looks like: (Everyone please thank Albert here at AtariAge for the great photo of the 2600!) Printing tomorrow! Shipping soon!
  13. Its no man its a beast. One life? Thats insane! WHAT!That is crazy!Too bad you didn't get that on tape, you are like an ungodly god. It was years ago (before the Jag even) Super C is pretty much a pattern game. Once you know where everything is going to come from, you can do it. You just have to be real careful with the bosses!
  14. Admittedly, that is a problem when selling books like this online. You never know exactly what to expect. Rest assured though, I've never had anyone (seriously or even jokingly) tell me it wasn't any good. So, I guess that means people like it! Anyway, I hope you'll like it too. This is my way of contributing to the Atari scene!
  15. It's almost done! I've been working my tail off all November to get The Atari Times 2002 Year-End Issue ready! The pre-order deadline is just a few days away, so if you were planning on getting a copy (for yourself or an Atari fan for Christmas, perhaps?) you'd better do it fast! The pre-order pricing of the 2002 Year-End Issue is $12.00 plus $4 for U.S. shipping (overseas shipping is $8.) After December 4th, the price will be $15.00 plus $4 U.S. shipping (overseas shipping, $8.) More information about this 100-page book of Atari features, reviews, interviews can be found at http://www.ataritimes.com/yearend Thanks for your continued support of TAT!
  16. I actually got through Super C (NES) on one life! (I'd never be able to do that again.)
  17. Those colorful buttons make it look like a mock-up!
  18. Pretty sure that is a pirate Super Famicom. Looks exactly like it except for the gun and a few cosmetic changes.
  19. Well, sort of... http://gear.ign.com/articles/378/378757p1.html
  20. I've heard stories like that too (the Jerry Jessop one comes to mind.) I will not keep more than $100 in the account because of it. I think it's an equitable trade off. (Until my wife wants to buy something, throwing off my entire plans!)
  21. I remember when I was running the BattleSphere drawing over at TAT... A year went by and I still didn't have enough entries. So, I got PayPal going. Within two weeks I had more than enough entires to hold the drawing. There's an extra hurdle for people who do not accecpt credit cards or PayPal. Internet buyers want the easiest, most convenient method for making payments. If that person doesn't take those (PayPal or Credit) they will simply take their business elsewhere. That limits the buying audience to practiacally nothing. And when you're talking about a group as small as Atari-fans, it really IS nothing.
  22. Wow, I didn't know Atari did this one! http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?game_id=365
  23. Funny how they're bagging on Crystal Castles... I really enjoyed that version. Did they expect it to look as good as the arcade on the 2600? It played basically the same. It had all the characters. It had tons of screens... The only thing missing was the lighted trackball! Also, there is something troublesome with the notion that running a game through a bureaucracy is a good thing... Especially with some of the people in charge at the time.
  24. Speaking of MK... Which character do you have the most trouble defeating? I'll go with Mileena. If it weren't for my special "jump-kick" move, I'd never be able to defeat her.
  25. I like MK2 because of it's great balance of speed and technique. MK3 was too fast, MK1 too slow. MK2 was "just right." And I like SF2, but it's too slow.
