  1. Are we talking Atari, Atari Games, or a combination of the two? Atari - Star Wars, sit down Atari Games - STUN Runner, sit down Those sit down units were the whole experience, baby!
  2. Mortal Kombat II arcade was the best. End of story.
  3. Gotta go with Dungeon Master as well. It was the "Killer-app" for the ST for me. #2 would be Llamatron and #3 would be Starball.
  4. Did it have thick edges on the sides, like this (Heavy sixer)? Or were they thin (1978 model)? That's how to tell.
  5. Been playing a few Coleco games through the Virtual CV emulator... The ironic thing is that it seem that it was ATARI who was able to get the most out of this system! Joust, Defender, Jungle Hunt, and Galaxian seem to be very smooth and actually fun to play. Many of the Coleco made games are jerky and (often) dull. Leave it to Atari to make great games for the opposing systems while Coleco made crap for the Atari systems (2600 Zaxxon anyone?)
  6. What the heck is this? http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...nokia_phones_dc This whole convergence thing is getting out of hand... I'd rather have a game console that doubles as a phone instead of a phone that doubles as a game console!
  7. Swill! The only Pepsi product worth drinking is the teeth rotting Mt. Dew! Dentists hate it!
  8. Thanks. I've never been able to get that close ever again. I was in the zone that day... It happened before when I was playing Star Wars for the ST. I reached the last level and must have gone through that level about 15 or more times. I finally had to go somewhere so I had to quit. Weird how people can get into that zone and NOTHING can stop them!
  9. They are, but they taste different.
  10. Sure are! Even the ST can be hooked to a regular television! The 8-bitters use the same switchbox that 2600 uses. The XEGS has RCA A/V ports on it so it's even easier and clearer than the other models.
  11. Try this: http://consolevision.com/burnero/
  12. Sound like 'dactyl Joust for the Jaguar... http://www.cyberroach.com/jaguarcd/html/dactyl.htm
  13. I just used my el-cheapo web cam. I tried with the flatbed scanner, but it didn't work. The only issue is making sure you have the proper amount of light.
  14. Speaking of Tetris DX... This whole thread reminded me of my incredible high score of 1.2 million points. I was on a roll that day! Here's a screen capture!
  15. The new version is out. AvP is cool! Also, I've noticed that Iron Soldier works up until you actually start a game. I don't expect polygon stuff to work for a while. And Rayman works until you have to load a save game. I bet it'd work if we could get past that. Still, great progress on this emu!
  16. Just another blatent attempt to pick on the Jaguar (and Atari). They only attached those other games to the list to appear credible. I could probably name 20 games for the NES that were worse than Aircars. Oh, and here's the proof: "I still insist that if this list was perfectly accurate, the 20 Worst games really would just be 19 Atari Jaguar games and the Atari 2600's god damn E.T.." I guess that's answers my question as to why there were no Genesis games and only 1 SNES game. Considering that there were hundreds of more games for those systems, odds are that there are also TONS of crappy games. Even his quote is incorrect: "Above: irreverant funnyman me." More like, "Irreverant twit, who uses weak humor and Atari bashing to get people to like me."
  17. i' date=' like many others, would rather be playing the system, rather than have to pay for shipping and pay for a warranty to send the system back to the manufacturer, wait about month or so, have them tell you lies inthe meantime and do a not so great job overall, being customer service and such.[/color'] Why isn't it possible to take it back to the store you bought it from? That's generally the way it works if there is a problem within the first few days. With electronics, if it doesn't break within the first 90 days, it will probably be fine until it reaches extreme old age.
  18. Errmm... Don't they have warrantys in Japan???
  19. I'll take the 5200 any day, controllers and all. They're not as bad as their reputation nor will they cause the medical problems in your hands like the CV controllers will. Also, it seems like the CV's animation is just not up to snuff with the 5200. It's always seemed a bit jerky whereas the 5200 was always smooth. (The one exception seems to be Defender, written by Atari.) 'nother vote for the 5200.
  20. Erm... Yeah... I accidentally fired that one up the other day forgetting what it was. D'oh!
  21. Yeah... I remember you! You used to write stuff for TAT! Hmmm...
  22. Checkered Flag is one of the best games for the system. Pinball Jam is okay and Pit Fighter isn't that great. I'd suggest getting Klax, Stun Runner, Shanghai, and Blue Lightning. Also, you can see a listing of Lynx games (in order by average rating) over at TAT. http://www.ataritimes.com/lynx/reviews/
  23. For some of them you can download the ROM and see for yourself if you like it.
  24. It's almost here for those of you who have been demanding it! http://pt.emuunlim.com/wip.htm
