I believe that is correct only when you are able to dump the ROMs for the exact game you own. Otherwise, it's still illegal to download a ROM of someone else's ROM image. At this point, however, I don't think Infogrames gives a rat's butt about the Jaguar ROMs. But it's likely the authors of the games might. (But if Atari owns the copyrights, it shouldn't matter what the author wants.)

I never really sat down and thought about the longest credits I sat through... I think it may have been Shenmue, but there may be a Genesis or NES game in there too. I think Lynx Lemmings has the longest (or most amount of) text in the ending of a game. It's like a book.

Wow! Really? Jeez, I remember seeing one when the game first came out. I know I've seen them a few times since, but not in recent days (aside from Videotopia.) I THOUGHT I saw one a few years back for sale in an arcade. Maybe that was STUN Runner. Anyway, playing I, Robot in the arcade is a much more satisfying experince than playing it on an emulator. The cabinent is so funky you just HOPE people are watching you play it!

I agree with you there. John Ritter (and Joyce DeWitt) are great. I can't wait for the Three's Company telepic! (It'll be similar to the Gilligan's Island and Brady Bunch TV behind-the-scenes movie.) Three's Company is my favorite sitcom of all-time. As for there not being a game in the 2600... It would probably be DISTRACTING for the actors to have a real game on there. And the timing of the game vs. the reactions would never match. I can understand why they weren't really playing, but WHY there wasn't a cart in the slot is a bit baffling. Maybe someone forgot... Or maybe it blocked the view somehow. Who knows.

Good for you. You'll have more fun with the emulator if you don't have the ROMs.

The difference between men and women is the way they hold their joysticks. [/img]

Heh, the cartridge is on the table next to the popcorn.
-
Heh, I just noticed that the 2600 wasn't even plugged in the entire time they were playing it!

Whew! After over a year of waiting, I finally managed to tape the episode of Three's Company where Jack and Janet are playing football on a 2600! I got some screenshots as well as a 63 second video of it over at TAT. http://www.ataritimes.com/features/fea_atarifilms.html Have fun.

Project Tempest v0.20 Released Sunday, October 20, 2002 What's new: - Fixed graphics in Tempest 2000 - Fixed the joystick glitches - Doom is playable with almost perfect graphics - Sensible Soccer is playable - Implemented a new faster blitter code http://pt.emuunlim.com/ Plus the site has a nice Jeff Minter interview.

Great price for AvP. I wouldn't give you a nickel for Checkered Flag though.

Actually, I think this was a result of Atari's winning (yet another) lawsuit, this time against Nintendo for the scrolling routines. Part of the deal was that DK, DKjr, and Mario Bros. would be licensed for the 7800.

Looks like they just didn't renew their service with a particular web host. Interesting though... The domain is owned by someone in Hong Kong... http://www.netsol.com/cgi-bin/whois/whois?...m&SearchType=do Why not give them a call and complain?

Nudity in video games doesn't have a place. But it is something that adds atmosphere and attitude to a game. Imagine Duke Nukem 3D without the dancing girls!

The site mentions Theme Park working, so I figured that meant Syndicate works too. It does, but loads of graphical glitches make it impossible to play. I wonder what else will work with this release?

Version 0.12 is out and includes a full-screen option. http://pt.emuunlim.com/downloads.htm

New version is out already addressing some graphical issues. Not sure what though. http://pt.emuunlim.com/downloads.htm

With the first working Jaguar emulator being released, I was wondering how long it will be before BattleSphere ROMs are plastered all over the place? I'm sure it will take a while before 3D can be fully implemented in the emulator, though. I hope Scatologic put some kind of hardware hack or dongle or software encryption in the game!

Got Tempest 2000 & Raiden to work. Doom also coughs up a few screens. http://www.ataritimes.com/jaguar/images/ProjectTempest BTW, if you have any commercial ROMs with the extension of .BIN, try renaming it to .JAG and see what happens.
-
I just added a bunch more shots. DD5, Dragon, Super Burnout, Dino Dudes, Defender 2000, Checkered Flag... Many of these only the title screens show up. I figured the "16-bit" games would work the best. http://www.ataritimes.com/jaguar/images/Pr...ProjectTempest/

Here are some screenshots: http://www.ataritimes.com/jaguar/images/Pr...ProjectTempest/

Pinball Fantasies and Sensible Soccer work too. I got the intro screen for NBA Jam also.
-
Cannon Fodder definitely works as does Flashback. Don't know about Tempest 2000 since I have it in .bin format and the emulator requires download and start addresses. I'll have to try out some other ROMs to see what happens.

Just got a Jag, what games to buy? and where to get AV cable
Gregory DG replied to IceCold's topic in Atari Jaguar
Heh... There aren't too many common Jaguar games that are good. Tempest 2000 & Iron Soldier come to mind. Check the TAT list for more info: http://www.ataritimes.com/jaguar/reviews/index.html -
Impeccable timing. I'm actually working on that!
