Heh, I just noticed that the 2600 wasn't even plugged in the entire time they were playing it!

-
Whew! After over a year of waiting, I finally managed to tape the episode of Three's Company where Jack and Janet are playing football on a 2600! I got some screenshots as well as a 63 second video of it over at TAT.

Project Tempest v0.20 Released
Sunday, October 20, 2002
What's new:
- Fixed graphics in Tempest 2000
- Fixed the joystick glitches
- Doom is playable with almost perfect graphics
- Sensible Soccer is playable
- Implemented a new faster blitter code
Plus the site has a nice Jeff Minter interview.
-
Great price for AvP. I wouldn't give you a nickel for Checkered Flag though.

You know, it's pretty obvious what Atari was doing in 1988. Obviously they saw the frenzy that was Super Mario Bros., apparently they still had the rights to the original Mario Bros., and decided to try and cash in.Actually, I think this was a result of Atari's winning (yet another) lawsuit, this time against Nintendo for the scrolling routines. Part of the deal was that DK, DKjr, and Mario Bros. would be licensed for the 7800.

Looks like they just didn't renew their service with a particular web host.
Interesting though... The domain is owned by someone in Hong Kong...

Why not give them a call and complain?

Nudity in video games doesn't have a place. But it is something that adds atmosphere and attitude to a game. Imagine Duke Nukem 3D without the dancing girls!
-
The site mentions Theme Park working, so I figured that meant Syndicate works too. It does, but loads of graphical glitches make it impossible to play.
I wonder what else will work with this release?

New version is out already addressing some graphical issues. Not sure what though.
-
With the first working Jaguar emulator being released, I was wondering how long it will be before BattleSphere ROMs are plastered all over the place? I'm sure it will take a while before 3D can be fully implemented in the emulator, though.
I hope Scatologic put some kind of hardware hack or dongle or software encryption in the game!

Got Tempest 2000 & Raiden to work. Doom also coughs up a few screens.

BTW, if you have any commercial ROMs with the extension of .BIN, try renaming it to .JAG and see what happens.

-
I just added a bunch more shots. DD5, Dragon, Super Burnout, Dino Dudes, Defender 2000, Checkered Flag... Many of these only the title screens show up. I figured the "16-bit" games would work the best.

I'll have to try out some other ROMs to see what happens. :wink:Pinball Fantasies and Sensible Soccer work too. I got the intro screen for NBA Jam also.
-
I think the only ROMs that will run at all are T2K and possibly Flashback and Cannon Fodder since there are screenshots on the site.Cannon Fodder definitely works as does Flashback. Don't know about Tempest 2000 since I have it in .bin format and the emulator requires download and start addresses.
I'll have to try out some other ROMs to see what happens.

I just got an Atari jaguar and I'm looking for some COMMON(cheap) games that are fun. If you have any recommendations tell me. I already have cybermorph. I also need some AV cables because when using the rf unit that came with it, it looks like shit, and when I use the cable from my atari Junior it looks like shit unless I get it perfectly right, then it still looks kinda crappy.Heh... There aren't too many common Jaguar games that are good. Tempest 2000 & Iron Soldier come to mind.
Check the TAT list for more info:

While we're on the subject, is there an online hint book, faq or walk-through?Impeccable timing. I'm actually working on that!

Speaking of errors in links, the one to "more information" about the video sequence from Superman III is broken. I really wanted to read it too.
Do you mean this one?
http://www.deceptions.net/superman/superma...on_fx_atari.htm
Seems to work fine (for now.)
-
Wish I could have taped that. I've got both "Devil Fish" and "MST3K" in my Atari on Film page.http://www.ataritimes.com/specialfeatures/...atarifilms.html
There is an error with the link. Could you check it for typos?
Yeah, I changed it. It should now be:
http://www.ataritimes.com/features/fea_atarifilms.html
(I got rid of the "special" part.)
I discovered it today. I took some shots with my digital cam:Mind if I use those pics for the (url above) Atari On Film page?
Thanks!

using Q3Radiant was a goddamn nightmare. If I ever reinstall Q3, I'll give this map a go.I've never understood why people proclaim Q3Radiant. I think it's too complicated (therefore it sucks.)
QuArK is the best level editor.

Hello fellow classic gamers:Not sure if this was previously brought to the attention of this forum, but his is a link you MUST read...it's worth it !!

I can't disagree with you there. It IS totally worth it!

What's in your VCS RIGHT NOW????Or if that does not apply, what was the last Atari 2600 game you played?
I think it was Combat. I needed a screenshot for the Top 20 Atari Games article!
Can't remember the last game I played on an actual 2600... I dug them up a few months ago to clean them and test them out again, but I can't remember the "last" game I played, because I played them all!

Can the 7800 do 3D style games?
or is the hardware of the 7800 just limited to 2D games? If games like Tunnel Runner could be done for the 2600, then something better could be done for the 7800.
There are no true 3D games for the 7800. But I think Ballblazer gives a taste of what could have be done.
