  1. The 5200/A800 versions were identical. only the controller routines were changed (For obvious Reasons). Colecos version looks better because Coleco had a higher resolution, 256x256 sprites available, and a Z80 Processor running at 3.58 Mhz. Colecos major down fall in my opinion is the controller signals. unlike the Atari (Which used a 5 volt DC signal to indicate a movement/button press) the Coleco used a Pulse Signal (Kind of like an old rotary telephone) to send signals on movement/button presses. This cause the controllers to be rather unresponsive as it had to wait for the pulse signals next pulse to send before it could react. This is why the Atari versions have better playability.
  2. Alrirra is the problem. it sound normal on real hardware.
  3. He Said it was 99% Finished. just some bugs to work out. When I get it, I will release it. =)
  4. Anthony Weber was originally coding Gyruss for parker brothers (His version is what you see on the back of the box) then at the last minute parker bros decided to release their own in house version. I Don't know why they decided this. Anthony Weber (Who I've chatted with in email several times) Doesn't know either. -Kjmann
  5. We have two games scheduled for release soon. The first is Tempest Elite. A revamp of our Tempest Xtreem With more webs, a dual pokey Stereo soundtrack, New Digital Sounds, and Full VBXE Support as well as Standard Graphics support. The second one will be released a bit later on. it is an RPG thought up by Peter himself Called "Secretum Labyrinth". I have done the sound track and SFX for it and peter has done pretty much everything else. This one is HIS baby. it will be a lot of fun, combining play elements from Zelda, venture, Adventure, Intellivision D&D and a lot of our own style, just to mention a few things.
  6. I wasn't aware that it was happening until i read it here. We don't make the carts, Lance at Video61 Does them for us. Not that I need to explain myself to you or anyone else on this forum.
  7. We solved the Cart shell problem back when the first post was made about it and there will be no more carts with tape going out. They are sealed properly. The anim with winky grabbing his bow and entering the dungeon was left out for space reasons in the cart. we wanted to keep it at 32k for the 5200 release.
  8. Do You have a Memory Upgrade in your machine? BTW, it's called the "Wall Room"
  9. It will be available here when the carts are completed and assembled. Video61 / Atari Sales
  10. I see now. I didn't catch the numbers the first time i looked. I never saw the auction
  11. The fact that it has two chips would make me assume that it is a 16k cart. if that is the case, this may be a version with the animation included. also the label looks like something that Bruce over at B&C might have done.
  12. Here is a video of the 5200 Venture in Action. We are still bug testing, but this is a release candidate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_oc048m_MQ#t=0
  13. Yes we released that last Month. We will Never release a ROM version. We wont know until we find out how much the the carts will cost to make. -Sal (Kjmann)
  14. I have sent a PM to Mclaneinc. Overseas Sales have been Re-Opened.
  15. Due To Mclaneinc's comments we will be halting any more overseas sales of venture until further notice.
  16. Understand this Mclaneinc, If we ever see a digital version of any of our games floating around, I WILL Close this company and we will Never produce another game. people like you are the reason so many game designers for retro systems have decided to close shop. the choice of media is OURS to make not yours. This is OUR work. We have two more game releases scheduled for release within the next year, but I will shelve them if I see our work being dumped and distributed around without our permission.
  17. As the situation sits right now it's only at Video61. I have to talk to al to see if he wants to get some for the AA store or not. Here are some videos of the Challenger mode First 3 levels/maps - Click Here Fourth level/map - Click Here
  18. Thanks Al. I Got back in. =) Digital Downloads? As I've Said Before. Never. Nuff Said. Don't ask me again please. 5200 Version. YES!!! We will be doing a 5200 conversion. I'm Hoping to get some help with this from the man who did the 5200 fort apocalypse conversion. =) Venture Has two major features.... 1, Challenger Mode. this mode has certain rooms that close the door behind you until you kill everything in the room and some rooms where the treasure will not appear until everything in the room is dead. This mode also features more monsters in the rooms and they are faster and smarter. There is also the addition of a Fourth Level Map, with new rooms and new monsters/traps. The Normal mode plays the game like the classic colecovision version. 2, Control Features. You can control like the original or use the new point and shoot control where you can hold down the fire button which will hold your aim where ever you want it and allow you to move while continuing to shoot.
