Quite a few years back he used to sell karateka and Summer Games for $29.95 each with no limit. Then he found out that people were buying them from him in quantity and selling them on Ebay for over $100 a pop. Can't say I blame him for changing his prices and Limiting the items to one per customer.

Perfectly. All My 1200XL's that I have been selling have them already installed. =) Cool - I'll probably pick one up once I get my 1200XL from Bob. I see you don't have instructions specifically for the 1200XL in your downloadable package on your site (unless I'm missing it). Are they the same as the 800XL? The Instructions for the 1200XL are ready I just haven't put them in the Zip File yet. Sorry for the delay to everyone that had an order to ship this last week. I got delayed due to a Transportation issue for me. I was driving to the Store last Sunday and my "Good old reliable Chevy Suburban" Threw a Rod in the Engine on the Highway leaving me stranded and also without transportation for a few days. I live 40 Miles from My shop and the nearest Post Office. I just got my new car yesterday and all past due orders will be shipped TODAY. Sorry again for the delay everyone. It won't happen again (At least I hope not. I can't keep buying cars all the time). =)

Perfectly. All My 1200XL's that I have been selling have them already installed. =) The Switch is a simple adjustment for chroma strength. This can have a major effect on 2 things... the reduced setting (Switch Closed) can help to get rid of or at least seriously reduce clock lines (vertical banding) on some LCD monitors that might get that Effect. the stronger setting (Switch open) can make Using a S-Video to composite Video Adapter (S-Video to RCA) Have Less Shadows and Stronger Color.

Best Atari Dealer - The good - the bad and the ugly
Kjmann replied to Blues76's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
It's not just about his adverts. Ben Actually Calls People (Repeatedly) that have purchased from him asking if they have some of the things he is looking for to GIVE to him. At one time the guy even went as far as to ask me to give him my Mega4 ST and wanted me to pay the shipping to send it to him. I told him no and he persisted (Repeated Phone Calls). it wasn't until I changed my phone number that I finally got him off my back. This was all before I had my own store. In My Opinion, that's just plain unprofessional. I send out A Bulk Email to anyone that has every purchased from me anytime I add new products to the website. it's a simple Text Email that tells what I added and what page of the website to find it on. But, I would never bother my customers to give me their hardware so I can Re-Sell it for my own Profit and I would never Pester they so Frequently. -
Actually The 400 has Worked according to a friend of mine that i sent it to (I just haven't updated the website yet). he is supposed to send me some pics of the install although he has been very busy with a death in his family. I'm sure I will get them soon though and I will include them in the S-Video instructions Photos. =) The Boards no longer look like that. they are now much smaller. By the way, Thanks for the nice Review John. Glad you liked it. =)

Best Atari Dealer - The good - the bad and the ugly

Just For the Record, This incident that Flash is talking about was from my store and was My Stupid Mistake. To try and make up for it, I refunded the entire Purchase amount of the item to attempt to offset the amount he had to pay for the VAT. Sorry again for the trouble Flash. I have since started putting exact amounts on the customs forms Not Including Shipping Charges (In my opinion those don't count as part of the item value). -
Absolutely!!! I could not have said it better. Time to close this subject guys. Brian, you will obviously not buy from lance and lance is obviously not interested in selling to you so lets leave this subject dead and move on to things that are fun and cool for our awesome 8 bits. Atarians Unite!!! =) What a rude thing to say, both of you. Why are you doing this? The point of the last message wasn't who will buy from whom and shows what happened between both me, Lance, and First Star. I even included a link to the topic where someone bought a repro of Boulderdash and I'm being treated like a bad guy for asking a RELIABLE source is a company is on the up and up. I was not casting any dispersions on you or taking sides. as I'm sure Qix_Maniac will agree, I think this should be dropped here and any further discussions on it should be done in private Messages or Email between You and Lance. Noting More was intended. I think Qix_maniac was just trying to lighten the mood and change the subject to something a little more light hearted and i was just agreeing with him. =)

Use Some Contact Cleaner in the "FRONT / REAR" Switch in the back next to the Chroma/Luma Jacks and Work the switch back and fourth a few times to work the cleaner around. They do this a lot on the 1701/1702's. EDIT: Oops, Sorry Mitch, I missed your post. =) -

Refurbished 1200XL's At Kjmann's Atari Sales and Service
Kjmann replied to Kjmann's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
yes it is a hardware replacement. No. You can not switch back to the 1200 OS. No. there are no 1200xl Specific Programs. The only visual differences you will notice is the lack of the Colored Atari Logo that comes on screen when you turn on the machine without a cartridge inserted. that was Specific to the 1200XL. with the new OS installed it will go directly to the "Self Test". -

Refurbished 1200XL's At Kjmann's Atari Sales and Service
Kjmann replied to Kjmann's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
What does this mean? Why is this good and how might it not be so good? Also, how would one use the chroma strength switch? These seem like a good deal to me... One of the reasons the 1200XL was discontinued was due to incompatibility problems in the 1200XL OS. installing the 800XL OS Solves almost all of these issues if not all of them. The Chroma Strength Switch is something to give a preference choice on how strong the color is on your screen. since all TVs give different results with the Atari S-Video (LCD's vs CRT's or Composite vs S-Video), this switch will give you something to make an adjustment with for your personal Preference. Glad to hear that. I hope you like it. Email me if you have any questions. =) -

I just noticed a problem with The XEX Version of Thunderfox NTSC that Wrathchild did last year. There seems to be a graphics problem when you play a game, go through all your lives and start a new game. a bunch of junk ends up on the top of the screen and won't go away until you reboot the system cold. I know Wrathchild has been pretty busy so I thought i would see if any one has any ideas on how to fix this. =)

Refurbished 1200XL's At Kjmann's Atari Sales and Service
Kjmann replied to Kjmann's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
That's Possible. I De-soldered/removed the 10000uf Cap as well and several of them seemed a little "Puffed up". I remember the problem with the 1050's. =) -
Refurbished 1200XL's At Kjmann's Atari Sales and Service

Well, I can tell you that the New PSU's are not cheaply made. they are very solid. in fact and I have been running one on my 800XL with RAM 320XL unit for 2 months (And I run Mine a lot). Under load on the 800XL it produces 5.02vdc and that is testing the voltage at Q3. I get 5.00vdc in the 1200XL at Q11. I'm not saying they went bad by sitting. I did after all put a ? after that statement. I was just taking a sarcastic wild guess. =) I don't know what would have killed it but the rectifiers were not functioning at all. some were simply shorting at that point and others were just not sending any voltage at all. None the less this is what I have chosen to do. My customers like it. I've sold 4 so far with no complaints. the 4 that the rectifiers work in I may consider selling without altering the Power system. I will however, deal with them last. =) Yes, I think I recall something about that in the 5200. But I don't do much work with it. -
Refurbished 1200XL's At Kjmann's Atari Sales and Service
Kjmann replied to Kjmann's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
No I just take them apart and clean the membrane. I make sure every key works before I consider it worthy to go out the door. The reason for the PSU change is this: 1 - I have about 20 of these 1200XL's and out of those only 4 of them had a working rectifier in it. This was possibly because of them sitting in a non temp regulated storage at one time? 2 - They weigh a lot less. that makes shipping less expensive for my customers. 3 - I was never a fan of how warm the back of the 1200XL's would get after extended use. 4 - Non of them came with power supplies. 5 - the new PSU's that we use are 110 - 240 volt input with interchangeable Plug styles. I have 4 different plugs that the buyer can choose from. Also According to my schematics and after following the traces on the board myself I can not find any spot where the 9vac is sent to any part of the computer. it is immediately converted to 5vdc from the switch. The Systems Run wonderful and the picture is sharp, clean and shows nice strong color. Although as a lot of you are aware my main clientele is mainly people who would prefer to just plug and go. they want to receive the unit ready with all fixes/upgrades in place. =) Although I do appreciate any business from the AA community and I am Glad to have them as customers. =)
