  1. thats probably due to games like Advance Wars doing well (not the same thing, but not different either)
  2. FMV games are not dead, every stinking RPG is a glorified FMV game these days. Plus i dont know many people that detest Dragon's Lair the same way they detest Marky Mark for the Sega CD.
  3. The Intellivision was introduced in 1979, its release was closer to the release of the VCS, than it was to the release of the 5200 or the Colecovision. i wouldnt call it a failure, they sold 3 million consoles, and INTV stayed around until 1990.
  4. for 5.99 though, a new connector is a steal, and that link gets you about 85% through the replacement process. Your 15 year old NES is going to have some corrosion on the connector
  5. oh well, maybe theyll make good decoration or something
  6. hey i have a pair of Wico "Y" 5200 adapters i got in a box of Atari gear a couple of years ago, but i do not have the wico stick. Can one use any 2600 stick with this adapter in combination with the 5200 keypad, or do you have to use a Wico stick since there are multiple fire buttons? sorry for the n00b questions
  7. i got a boxed 5200 trackball for 20 bucks today i may have to reconsider the status of my 5200 now, as before today, it was my only system in storage, but after one game of centipede the love/hate relationship i have with my 5200 is leaning toward the love side. i may just now have to invest the money in getting some working sticks now
  8. the top loader does not have AV, you have to mod your system to add it the spring loaded NES uses regular phillipshead screws, there shouldnt be much problem getting one open http://www.classicgaming.com/features/arti...cles/nesrepair/ this article shows you what youll see inside. If you have three boxes, id highly recommend repairing them and make yourself a tidy profit for yourself on ebay.
  9. top loaders arent that much better. Get a 72 pin connector from MCM Electronics for 6 bucks for your spring loader. They work very very well.
  10. blech i cant stand kentucky, i grew up in cincinnati, and there are more UK fans than University of Cincinnati fans there, its quite sickening. But UC got eliminated today, so between that and the war, the tourney doesnt seem as great this year.. ill make my picks tomorrow
  11. thats kindof sucks Paul, id love to see Marble Craze get some mainstream recognition, but as you say, if the controls are poor, then it could backfire. But as long as make sure that its documented, it should be fine, id take the risk
  12. ive seen a couple of adapters (and own one), but ive never seen a computer expansion.
  13. apple still sells classic iMacs, they only come in blue though scratch that, i guess they finally ditched them, but they were still for sale a few months ago
  14. same here, i dont play many computer games, mostly emus, and i stick with el cheapo gravis pads for those. For anything else, its keyboard/mouse.
  15. my entire collection is linked in my user sig 118 - Dreamcast 35 - GBA 22 - Cube 19 - PS2

    yeah, paul is the man
  17. no, color would never prevent me from buying a machine, but if there is a choice, i always try to get the non-standard color do you live in a black house, drive a black car, use a black tooth brush, or paint every room in your house black? I just find it boring, and a little color, even its a tad gaudy, gives a machine a bit of personality. My limit woudl be if something had a patern or tye-dye or something with too many different colors. There is almost no instance i can think of where a solid color is revolting.
  18. i know the first two were released for mac, not sure about the third, but part three wasnt the best collection anyways...
  19. i want that, but its far too expensive for its limited capabilities
  20. i have one, but its pretty pointless. It does look nice attached to an INTV 2 though
  21. the screen may go down more, but i doubt the PSone will
  22. it actually came that way, a month or so after the DC came out, i picked up a used DC for 200, which is what it was going for new, but the store had put on a clear case and installed a mod chip, so i could play imports (since it was still early, there were a lot of cheap imports to pick up)
  23. worse than Poker and Blackjack for the INTV, or even PacMan for the VCS? or how about no packin game like most modern consoles
