2.) I don't click on peoples spam !ouch

i do own a PSX now as well as a PS2, i didnt get a PSX however until late in its lifespan. i have a wide variety of games and systems as listed in the link in my sig
-
honestly, i dont own an xbox (yet), Im a Sega fanboy at heart, and have been since the days of the SMS (i was one of the two dozen people that bought a 32X since i knew i couldnt afford a saturn, i skipped the PSX generation and picked up a Dreamcast). Microsoft hasnt done anything positive or negative (yet) since they are playing catch up to Sony, but i believe that their business model is very similar to Sony's. Until that happens though, ill remain cautious about them, and reserve judgement.

why dont you like to hear people bash sony? name me a single top-notch game they made (made, not bought). The truth is they havent done shit for this industy other than promote shoddy hardware for bigger profit margains. I can understand why people dont like Nintendo, I can also somewhat understand why somebody wouldnt trust Sega, but i cant understand how a single person can like anything Sony has done.
-
i actualy saw one of these fairly recently. There is an arcade at Subway off the Ohio State campus, and they had a Lunar Lander Cab. I think its gone now though...
-
simple, since sony has removed Sega from the fold and has their eyes set on the last true gaming company (nintendo), more people are taking their tactics personally.
-
if sony didnt leak that info, then who did and why?

i cant wait for my cube to begin to fail, and itll flash on and off, and the boot sequence will flash over and over on my tv

-
i hope they do release it, and i hope it bombs,
i do know that whenever the PS3 is released, there wont be a good game for it for at least six months, and what good games do come out for it, will be lame ass sequels.
The 3D revolution is over, there is no new ground for sony to tread
-
i have to say, ive never had any boot problems with a game cube. Its by far the most reliable optical media console ever released. Im surprised it won by such a narrow margain. Hell id venture to say that the Cube is more reliable than the NES

DO NOT use ebay to buy a 72 pin connector
go to MCM Electronics to get the part for 5.99. you can also pick up a game bit to open your NES games there.

nintendo did get to where they are today because they made great games (donkey kong, punchout, etc). Sony and M$ have yet to contribute a single great game to the hobby, yet theyre in position to reap the most benefits. (they bought devs that made games for them)
I was always a Sega fan, and it pisses me off that they were willing to take risks with original games and got burned. But i do take some relief in that the lack of good games these days allows me to catch up and buy more classic stuff

-
i guess the important part question would be, if one can surf the web with a console, would it be possible to get a ROM of a game off the net and play the actual ROM on the actual console

Now if I can just find a good price to bribe the wife into allowing me to spend the money.....
She doesnt get why I want to buy old Atari when I have an Xbox in the house.
I think I have the answer, show her the AA forums, and the unusually high number of female members for a video gaming forum, and then openly wonder what it would be like to date a woman who is interested in Atari.

because the PSX is a crappy machine

face it, its a corporate owned hobby. the mere presence of MicroSoft and Sony in the business has pushed the business into hyper-profit mode. Not that profits weren't important in the old days, but gamers tended to be smart enough to seek out quality over crap, and devopers had a fair amount of freedom from marketing departments. Nowadays, marketing deparments have just as much influence (if not more than) in final products than the actual game designers. They dictate what features will be included in particular games. Whereas in the classic era, a designer would make a build of a game, and marketing would only suggest a few changes, then figure out how to present the game to the public (which is what their primary job focus should be), with all the licenses and sequels, the marketing guys can seemingly sleepwalk through their jobs, so they spend more time pretending to be game designers.

snl hasnt been funny for years

i own a panasonic 3DO, but sadly, i do not have any games that ive enjoyed much. I thought Twisted was ok for a couple of playthroughs, but the jokes are only funny one time, and i have madden football just as historical reference. I also have Pebble Beach, Theme Park, and Dragons Lair. Nothing super impressive to me.

Paul, once the dance game comes out, you should consider a CD of VCS music, id gladly buy one

its too thick and the button placements are poor. Even the "improved" S controller suffers from these problems (the white/black button placement on the S is horrible)

sorry to be an ass, but im bumping this

95 percent of people did not buy a windows pc based on pure preference. having worked in computer sales, roughly half of computer buyers really dont even know there is anything else on the market (a lot of people were/are under the impression that one could not do basic things like email from a mac)
anyways, my dislike for M$ is about the same as my dislike for Sony (sony is probably the closest thing to the japanese microsoft). I dont like Juggernaut companies that only partially have the demads of consumers on their mind. how much bitching did it take to get M$ to realize that the original xbox controller was an fn monstrosity.

im a huge fan of Addams family as well, they had a table in my dorm several years ago, i spent a shitload of quarters in that. South Park is pretty good too. I love pinball, its a shame its dead now

its pretty reliable. i had one, and gave it to a friend of mine who had never had the privilage of playing a genesis. It will work with a 32X if you are wondering, and the cool part about it is that it you can use standard RCA cables to hook it to your TV
