i own a panasonic 3DO, but sadly, i do not have any games that ive enjoyed much. I thought Twisted was ok for a couple of playthroughs, but the jokes are only funny one time, and i have madden football just as historical reference. I also have Pebble Beach, Theme Park, and Dragons Lair. Nothing super impressive to me.

Paul, once the dance game comes out, you should consider a CD of VCS music, id gladly buy one

its too thick and the button placements are poor. Even the "improved" S controller suffers from these problems (the white/black button placement on the S is horrible)

sorry to be an ass, but im bumping this

95 percent of people did not buy a windows pc based on pure preference. having worked in computer sales, roughly half of computer buyers really dont even know there is anything else on the market (a lot of people were/are under the impression that one could not do basic things like email from a mac) anyways, my dislike for M$ is about the same as my dislike for Sony (sony is probably the closest thing to the japanese microsoft). I dont like Juggernaut companies that only partially have the demads of consumers on their mind. how much bitching did it take to get M$ to realize that the original xbox controller was an fn monstrosity.

Tell me IGN is wrong (Worth of my 2600 collection)
chrisbid replied to gamecollector3's topic in Atari 2600
its based on the IGN gamestore value of the games (which is gamestop). So thats how much gamestop would charge for those games. -
of course, they never do explain where tidus or jecht really came from. they came "from a dream" thats about the most detailed it got. FFX was an improvement over 8 and 9, but even 7 was a tad better, and no FF game is as good as Phantasy Star.

i think the worst was the sonic mega collection, had they made it where you unlock a game by beating a game, it wouldve been much better. But i spent two hours starting and stopping every game 50 times to unlock everything

i meant that the ratio of good and crap was about the same,

if this is the dreamcast version, then head to booyaka.com and download game saves to your VMU.

the N64 is no crappier than the PSX

face it, video game plots suck across the board american plots tend to be uber-macho which as we all know is just repressed homosexuality. The only RPG story that made sense from beginning to end and grabbed me was Phantasy Star II. In terms of gameplay, it was extremely dull, but the dungeons were incredibly complex mazes that required you to map them out (and even with graph paper, it was easy to get lost), and the story line didn't involve any lame ass glowing balls of light or any weird hybrid of eastern and western gods meddling with mortals and taking mythical forms set on destroying the world for whatever cloudy reason, it was sci-fi through and through, and the ending was simply shocking. Its where my avatar and user sig comes from. But it was under the radar in 1989 when it was released, and it doesnt feature the eye candy and hold-your-hand unchallenge that today's console RPGs have

XBX > PS2 > GCN in gaming reviews.
chrisbid replied to theaveng's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Dreamcast > everything else as much as people complain about the cube, i think its a huge leap from the N64. The X-Box doesnt have very many must plays, and the PS2 is a sea of mediocrity. -
yes it will suck, unless Konami picks up the rights and uses the characters in a six player beat-em-up ala TMNT and the Simpsons arcade games

link i really dont want to part with it, but im in too much debt right now. as i mentioned in the auction, there are some little quirks with it, but i think it can be fixed by somebody who knows what they are doing. I had the unit at the cinciclassic if anybody saw me there. i hope it gets a good new home

the games that reward you the most for finding rare stuff sadly cannot be "completed". im talking about Phantasy Star Online. I put in 200 hours, and didnt even dent the rare items list. I wouldve liked to do everything in Final Fantasy X, but Blitzball pissed me off, and some of those minigames were just too annoying.

now if they can make a great game -
in terms of hardware makers....

well, Nintendo is the last true gaming company Sony and M$ are large monster corporations that see video game hardware as another avenue of profits. I dont like a lot of things about them, but becuase gaming is their number one priority, i give them the benefit of the doubt.

i thought third parties were forbidden from using the EXEC, since it was copyrighted software.

i think there are three good classifications. i forget where i read them Joystick era (everything up until 1984) Joypad era (8 and 16 bit machines) Analog era (Sega Saturn and beyond) pretty easy to remember, i think terms like vintage, classic, retro etc. can all be interchanged
