i havent seen one of those yet, but my DC collection is quite annoying. i dont see why sega thought that changing the Dreamcast tag on the spine from white to black was actually going to increase sales. So my collection is a mix of white, black, and japanese spines. its quite a mess.

ok, 1978 was the year of the horse so how about horsie sixer? ok maybe not

what was the chinese zodiac creature in 1978, perhaps that would make a good name...

i have a hong kong six switch VCS. every other version of the 2600 has a nickname, so i was wondering what i should call this one.

i have a 27" Panasonic, it has 3 A/V inputs, so with switch boxes i have 13 systems attached to them, and i have 5 classic systems going in through RF. Its a pretty geeky setup and ill eventually get up off my ass and take/post pictures.

if you like fighting games, get virtua fighter 4 -
im sure if this went through (with EA) somebody else would pick up visual concepts

i thought pole position was pretty dam good for the 2600. Racing games in general dont age very well

ive seen this game, and my brother owns a copy but never put any time into playing it. even the best 8 bit RPGs are hard to play through these days...

its amazing that ten years later, sony was looking to use nintendo to distribute the playstation (as a CDROM SNES addon), but decided to go at it alone and take over the industry oh the irony

space invaders was very cool, but not for the GB version, if you played it in a Super Game Boy on an SNES, you got a 100% perfect arcade port that was a natvie SNES game (no SGB border). It even had virtual color overlays. im still looking to find another copy for myself

although it may be a little late, check blockbuster video stores (or other game rental stores). Ive found the best N64 deals there, most recently Tony Hawk's Pro Skater for 2.99. Just be patient, dont spend 50 dollars for N64 games, in a year or so the demand will subside.

the best solution to play super famicom games is just to get a game genie and break the tabs off of it, as they are much easier to break

im aware of the history of SMB, besides, they later released SMB 2 as Super Mario USA in Japan.

Burgertime -> Diner Zelda -> Adventure of Link Super Mario Bros. -> SMB 2 Castlevania -> Simon's Quest TMNT -> Arcade Game Actraiser -> Actraiser 2 Frogger -> 3 Deep Mr Do -> Mr Do's castle Donkey Kong & Jr -> Mario Bros.

this is waaaay off topic, but the young ones rule (pointing to mindfield's sig)

kindof an unfair comparison, the neo geo was and still is a very classy system. The size of the carts, the feel of the joysticks, and the price of carts really set it apart from nearly every other system ever released. It was ahead of its time, and not aimed at mainstream gamers. The closest thing to compare it to would be the vectrex (arcade quality graphics, unmatched for its time).

i dont understnad why they wasted their ONE page of classic reviews on games they find to be very poor. aside from the two jag titles, they also reviewed Marky Mark for the Sega CD (which deservedly got a zero rating) and Rise of the Dragon for the Sega CD which was a mature themed point and click game that got an average score. Its sometimes funny to joke about a bad game here and there, but if theyre only going to do four reviews a month, why waste all of them on bad games. Review the good games for the Jag for cripes sake. I only got GI since it comes with a 10 percent discount on used games, but since gamestop is going to drop NES and Genny games, im not going to renew

yeah, the INTV version is pretty bad, when i was a kid, the first thing id do when playing the game is waste a bullet on the music note on the side to shut off the awful music. Then its ok, but quiet. Its a pretty lame game in general

could nintendo have shot themselves in the foot?
chrisbid replied to Happy_Dude's topic in Modern Console Discussion
i agree, it bugs the hell out of me, when Sony and MS complain about people pirating games, when their protection schemes all but beg hackers to break them. Nintendo actually does something practical to keep piracy to a minimum. -
the nintendo cereal system its commercial had a "rap" that was nearly as bad as the 2600Jr rap

i got a super deal at a local game store and nabbed one for 30 dollars. A genny 2 AC adapter, and i was set.

chrisbid replied to Happy_Dude's topic in Modern Console Discussion
if it is possible, it would require extra hardware to play backups or pirates (a PC hookup or some sort of external drive). It would be much more expensive than a relativly simple mod chip installed into a PS2 or XBox. -
What games other than "Combat" were included with

did all the 5200's come with Super Breakout? I know the four port did, but maybe they changed that with the 2 port?
