  1. The new Pac-Man Legacy is tempting me. I have the original A1UP Pac-Man and it still works. Would love to "upgrade" that and get Ms. Pac-Man as well. For $500 though I was hoping for better controls and it doesn't sound like they improved that. The Best Buy nearest me is showing they have both and they have an in store demo Pac-Man up and running. If so maybe I'll go see for myself.
  2. Did you get one? How's the controls?? Cab looks awesome btw, tilted screen and all.
  3. Have you tried the arcade version of Robotron? I've got an 8bitdo SN30 Pro (wired) and it works well enough for me.
  4. No on Space Rocks, at least not for me. I haven't tried Galagon. I'm loving Commie Mutants myself. Never had or even saw those superchargers back in the day, I did have a 410 cassette drive for my 8-bits though, so this has been fun. As Space Invaders nut, Commie Mutants would have been a blast back in '82.
  5. Thank you, the core is awesome.
  6. Son? Is that you?? ? Seriously though...this is very tempting. There's 5 in stock at the store closest to me which is about an hour's drive away. My Christmas budget is already strained though and this would absolutely kill it so...I probably won't.
  7. Very nice, and thank you. Plays great on my MiSTer.
  8. Once you get your MiSTer set up you'll just copy over this core and roms and go. Grats on the purchase. I sure like mine. I've been spending a lot of time in the X68000 core lately. Such an awesome PC with some great games I never had the pleasure of using before.
  9. Hell yes on the Starpath Supercharger games. Played some Commie Mutants, it was damn good. At this stage this 7800 core is better than the 2600 core. Much respect to all involved in this.
  10. A bare bones DE-10 Nano is all you need for the 7800 core. For those in the US Amazon has them now if you want to jump in. It's where I bought mine. Not sure about across the pond availability but I know there's a guy that sells kits and such similar to Mr. Addons in the US if I'm not mistaken. I've had my MiSTer for over a year and the only thing I added was the 128MB SDRAM from Mr. Addons. I can run anything. I also use a cheap USB dongle for connecting my controllers, keyboard, and mouse. You can spend a lot more, I don't even have a case, but it's not needed. I spent about $200 total for the above over a year ago and I haven't spent a dime more since. I've attached the latest 7800 core that has 2600 support in if anyone with a MiSTer wants to try it. I got this from the MiSTer discord's test build channel and it's world's better than the old one. Atari7800_pre.rbf
  11. Getting back OT to say thanks @Kitrinx for the continued work on the 7800 core. 2600 is in and seems to work great for me, only played a few short games. The core is awesome.
  12. For some reason I was under the impression that these "Recharged" Atari games were only available on the new VCS. Yeah, I'm way out of the loop here. Anyway, when I saw this on Steam I decided to take a chance on it. Even with the one life perma death I liked it enough to go ahead and grab the others, Centipede and Missile Command. Missile Command is so-so, but Centipede is cool with it's mouse control and I'm digging this twin stick Black Widow and I'm looking forward to Asteroids. These new "Recharged" games have actually got me thinking about getting an Atari VCS now. I probably won't for the foreseeable future as money is tight but who knows, it's definitely back on my radar now.
  13. What you have right there is more than enough to enjoy the MiSTer. Maybe a case, but that's optional. I've been using just the DE10 Nano with 128MB SDRAM and a cheap USB dongle for the past 6 months or so. No fan, no case, just a bare bones kick ass retro game machine. But I'm a cheap bastard with little money to spare so my needs outweigh my wants. Btw...welcome aboard, you're going to love it.
  14. I've been running this 7800 beta on my MiSTer and it is damn impressive. Thanks for your work on this @RevEng and all the devs involved. It's great stuff for sure.
  15. I tried it using the .bin renamed to .a78 and got as far as a garbled screen. I mentioned it on the MiSTer discord and like you, one of the devs said something about the header and took a look. The game is now running on the MiSTer sans the .mus files, so you get sound effects but no music. I played it, it's fantastic. Of course it'd be much better if the music was in. But there's some very smart people developing for the MiSTer so I wouldn't be surprised if it happens.
  16. Thanks, and I do see those files. The MiSTer core is looking for *.a78 ROMs so I was hoping to find that. Ah well.
  17. I have the Steam version and don't see the ROM anywhere. I even tried extracting the .exe Since there's been some recent work on the 7800 core I wanted to try it on my MiSTer.
  18. Got it and set up yesterday. I wasn't sure exactly what all the update_all script would pull in rom wise. I had put that in the scripts directory after flashing the mrfusion.img. Turns out I had plenty of room on that 8GB card and then did just like you said, ftp in and add stuff. Got it all going well and loving it, already looking to get that 128MB SDRAM for the Neo stuff.
  19. Yeah, I'm thinking I'll run Mr. Fusion first. I'm guessing 8GB is enough room for all the cores and then with the space left (if there is any) I can cherry pick what roms I want, even if I have to add those manually.
  20. I've been watching the MiSTer news and gathering info for a while now. Finally ordered, just the DE10 Nano Kit and a cheap USB hub to get me going. They should be in my hands in a few days. Any tips for a MiSTer noob on what script(s) to run and what will fit on the pack in 8GB SD card?
  21. Things like random disconnects from arcadenet, which for some reason is needed to local stream. This happened around 4.0.0 I guess, and it's still there. The arcadenetlink app is a buggy mess. Yes, it no longer bricks computers if you try to uninstall but it also is needed to local stream. And when the session is over the only way to quit the app is to force quit. You're absolutely right, I can choose not to upgrade and I usually do just that. I learned my lesson months ago to take a wait and see approach to the weekly updates. I was in beta and still communicate with some that still are. They give me a head's up at what's coming and what to look for. I'm not a youtube influencer so I can afford to not only sing the praises when it's due, but sing the blues when things break. Look, I love my ALU but all I'm saying is I wish they'd spend as much time fixing things that need it as they do pushing out new features. Add as many features as you like, I may even use some and it's always nice to have options. I just don't see the need to do it on a weekly basis, there's no rush.
  22. Yeah, that's fine. But while you're adding features on a regular basis how about fixing some of the nagging bugs that some of these features introduce? Those seem to get overlooked sometimes in the push to add more.
  23. I do not understand the push for weekly updates. Don't get me wrong, the added features are nice but it feels like someone on the "team" thinks that if a Wednesday update is missed that's a bad thing. No need to rush. ?
  24. Not the addon tool, but it's been added to a modified mame 2003+ core now and works beautifully on Windows.
  25. Hey @Bill Loguidice any news on when sample support is coming for the Windows AddOn Tool?
