1. I just listed this interesting Stak Rak Atari cartridge display case. Until I found it, I had never seen one like it. Nothing on a Google search either. I'm sure someone here knows something about it. In original box and never used. Includes two keys. Stak Rak Video Game Cartridge Storage Unit Scroll down for multi-photo goodness.
2. The entire lot has been sold. The buyer is coming back for his SECOND trip with a van and car. I'm hoping he can get the rest on the second load. Thanks to all who sent questions and well-wishes. Chuck
3. Yeah, it's kinda like an instant classic game store - or it would get you started anyway. I actually surprised myself when I pulled everything out of storage. It was more than I remembered putting in there. I think the 2600s reproduced. Chuck
4. My concern is that the cost of shipping such a large lot would be cost-prohibitive. Also, I can't even imagine the boxes and packing materials it would take to ship even part of this lot. That said, if you have a specific offer in mind, PM me and we can discuss. Chuck
5. Thanks. I'm pretty serious about moving everything out. I need my garage back. Chuck
6. I need to get rid of a ton of classic video game systems and games to free up space in my garage. Unfortunately, I don’t have time to refurbish and sell systems, although I will continue to sell some classic games and collectible items. I'd like to sell the entire lot to one buyer. http://www.recycledgamer.com/blowout/ These are all UNTESTED systems that I have collected over the past 4-5 years. Most systems are in good shape, although dusty, while others are suitable only for parts or repair. The various controllers and other accessories are in varying conditions as well. Many of these systems came from smaller lots that I bought just to get one or two games, then tossed the console into storage. I had intended to put together working systems to sell from this stuff, but my “real” job is taking most of my time. Everything is sorted, but again nothing is tested. Here are the terms of the sale: 1. Pick-ups only. I will not ship or deliver. The lot is located in my garage in Gladstone, OR - just south of Portland. 2. Cash only - I will not accept any kind of check or PayPal. I will accept a cash deposit to hold the lot until the full amount of cash can be gathered. 3. Everything is sold as-is. Prospective buyers are welcome to schedule an appointment to inspect the lot. I can only schedule showings on evenings or weekends. 4. I will entertain offers for segments of the lot (for example, all Atari items or all Sega items), but I will not part this lot out into individual pieces. Asking $2000.00 or best offer for EVERYTHING. Photos of the entire lot can be viewed here: http://www.recycledgamer.com/blowout/ PM me if you have questions. I'm happy to answer them. Thanks, Chuck
7. The Portland NWCGE game expo is coming up. Anyone planning to go? Chuck
8. I found a 2600 joystick at a thrift. It's different enough from a "normal" 2600 stick that it caught my eye. First, the paint on the dotted line around the stick is white instead of yellow. Second, the rubber "feet" on the bottom are much smaller than a regular Atari stick. Third, the plug is a two-piece deal with a screw and nut holding it together instead of the standard injection-molded connector on every other 2600 stick I have seen. There are the remains of a silver sticker on the bottom, but the text has long since been rubbed off. I haven't disassembled it, but it feels like it has the silver dome switches inside rather than the leaf switches in the original Sunnyvale sticks. Anyone know the story on this? I posted several more pictures here.
9. I threw that link out on the board because I haven't seen those dust covers very often and thought there may be someone out there who could use one and offset the cost by dumping the rest of the stuff. I never said it was a great deal or anything - I figured anyone who found it to be too much would just ignore the post. So I'm wondering what's up with the "you're so stupid to think anyone would want this crap" follow-ups? Complete with sarcastic emoticons and a FREAKING PICTURE attached as "proof" of how foolish I am to think that anyone would think want to take advantage of such an auction. Well, you caught me. I knew that my local Atari-Mart has racks of 2600 dust covers on special for $5, but I wanted to see how many Atari Agers I could trick into paying too much on eBay. Hats off too you for uncovering my nefarious scheme! I declare thee Master of All Atari Pricing on the Internets! Huzzah!
10. $50 BIN with $25 shipping. Not mine.
11. Photoshop called. It wants to introduce you to its friend Crop Tool. Second picture down...
12. Yeah, I thought the same thing. And I'm also guessing he meant to call the game a "jewel," and not rather derisively call the potential buyer a "JEW!!". I'm thinking he meant JEW, not JEWEL. Better still, he posted that response right on the page for all to see. I'd bet that's enough to get the auction shut down.
13. I sold a strange double-label cart to CrunchSuperman a few months ago. The visible label was for "Space Combat". Original thread here: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=79065&hl= Crunchy, did you ever find out what was under that label or anything else about the cart?
14. The stuff you bought is the stuff I use - works great for me. Breaks up the dried nastiness in the pot, buut leaves just enough lube to make things work smooth.
15. Entirely removing the original lubricant will cause the pot to wear out faster. I've never had a problem with this procedure: 1. Buy a can of Radio Shack's finest TV-Tuner/Control Cleaner & Lubricant. 2. Pull knob off of controller and squirt a shot down alongside the shaft where it enters the pot. 3. Replace knob and twist back and forth repeatedly to spread the lube. 4. Enjoy Warlords goodness.
16. Keep in mind that by wiring it this way, you will feed 9 volts back into the battery when you hook your 2600 up to the standard AC adapter. With non-rechargeable/alkaline batteries, this is a bad thing. Most devices that allow both battery and AC power will cut the battery out of the circuit when the AC adapter is hooked up - unless they are specifically designed to recharge the batteries.
17. Blurry photos like this are so annoying. It's called a macro setting people!
18. Looks like eBay will remove the comment entirely if you provide a judgement indicating libel. From the Feedback Forum rules: Best of luck dealing with this joker. I know how you feel.
19. Bare cart weight = 2.5 oz. / 70 grams My scale is digital, but only shows 1/4 oz/5g increments. Crunchy will tell you all about it later this week, I'm sure. Chuck
20. Interesting thought - I'll weigh it as soon as I get back in town. and report back. Chuck
21. If someone trustworthy lives near you and can verify that it's legit, it's a previously unknown label variant, probably R10, and maybe worth $$$$. You should probably put it on the 'Bay. The double main label is a bit odd. Also, in all of the photos you've provided so far there does not appear to be any sign (except for a possible flash glare in the bottom one of the first pair) that the borders on both labels are silver metallic, as they should be. It looks like they could just be white, which would be a strong indication of fakery. 964379 The consensus so far seems to be that this cart is a standard Space Wars ROM, but that it has a weird label/name variation. A few folks have prefaced their comments and offers with "if it's legit". I'm not sure how a "previously unknown variant" can be proven legit or not. I'm willing to do my best to accomodate AA members who have questions or various "atari litmus tests" that they would like me to conduct. I'm as excited to establish the provenance of this item as anyone else who has posted. And anyone who would like to come by and have a look is welcome - just PM me. I live near Portland, OR. Regarding the label, the border is silver - not white, as is the all of the text except "space combat" which is red. The label looks like every other early Atari cart label I have ever seen. The label has that almost foil-like consistency that the older pre-picture labels have. I've had two PM offers, but I think I am going to eBay this item and let the market figure it out. One of the offers seemed generous so I may be making a mistake, but I really have no idea what this item might be worth. I'll follow up when it's posted. Again, if anyone wants more evidence or a closer look, just let me know. Thanks to all who have helped so far. Chuck
22. My sediments exactly!! 964282 PM your offers. I have no idea what to ask.
23. I would be happy to share, but I have no idea how to go about dumping the ROM. Anyone in the Portland, OR metro area who can help? I didnt't even notice that! Good eye! There is definitely a second label under the first - lemme just tear it off here... Just kidding! Seriously, though, is there any way to remove the top label to see what's underneath without destroying the whole thing? Warming with a hair dryer maybe? The end label appears to be single - I don't see another label peeking out like I do on the front. I'm not touching it for now. I picked up this cart a couple of days ago at a Value Village near my house. There were several "numbered" Atari carts - I also picked up Basic Math. Maybe I should go back and see what I left... Chuck
24. Really? No way. I never find anything "ultra rare". Uh............no. Apparently so. Check out the new pics: Assuming you guys aren't pulling my leg, I definitely plan to sell - I'm not a 2600 collector. Chuck
