Do you still have your original collection from childhood?
MosDN replied to godzillajoe's topic in Atari 2600
Am I alone in this or do more people keep the originals apart from the stuff bought on ebay? I consider the Atari collection from my youth as something seperate, special. -
MosDN = Ministry of Sound - Dance Nation. Simply copied the first thing I saw, just happened to be a CD label.

I love my job even after 16 years (and still counting).

whats your favorite 80's system?
MosDN replied to CARTRIDGE STEALER's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Still love the little bugger. -
Dreamcast, great controllers, nice games and cheap!!

The original Rebelstar is a lot older than UFO. The author Jullian Gollop made the first version, rebelstar raiders, in 1984 on the sinclair spectrum.

Trust me .... it's for your own good. I think Spider Monster is the same game as Spider Kong, A.K.A. Pac-Kong, but I could be wrong. If so it's a rather dodgy quality platformer in the vein of Donkey Kong but with weeeird flickery sprites. Try it on an emulator and you'll see (look under the above aliases and you should find it, else let me know and I'll hunt it down or send you a dump of my cart). Incidentally, it's rare in PAL form, too... not as rare as in NTSC flavour, but you don't see many of those K-TelVision games around..... 894850[/snapback] Nice ingame music though I used to think that the bad flicker was to make the game more challenging

Processorspeed 200 Mhz x2 (dual processor). SNES emulation should be no problem.

Atari XL/XE vs C64 vs ZX Spectrum vs CPC vs MSX vs
MosDN replied to Gury's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
It's a bit sad that some machines were left out of these discussions like the Comx32, Oric Atmos and Dragon 32. -
Yes, it was Intertoys.

Atari XL/XE vs ZX Spectrum... And the winner is...
MosDN replied to Foebane's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Yes, sound was a bit of a joke on the Spectrum 48k. Later models had a real soundchip onboard and sound through external speakers. -
Atari XL/XE vs ZX Spectrum... And the winner is...
MosDN replied to Foebane's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
The situation in Holland was a bit different. There was a large Spectrum userbase (read copynetwork ) next to a huge C64 userbase. A lot of my friends had Speccys, but more friends had C64s (and one friend had an Atari) Even the MSX was bigger -
Atari XL/XE vs ZX Spectrum... And the winner is...
MosDN replied to Foebane's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
This is interesting. Atari vs. Spectrum.... A pall of mine had a 130XE in the eighties and I had a Spectrum 48k. He used to come to my place to play Spectrum games, I used to go to his place to play Atari games. The difference was that I had several hundred Spectrum games (mostly illegal) and he had only a few Atari games (also mostly illegal). Atari games used to be expensive, Spectrum games cheap. For every Atari game you could buy at least 20 Spectrum games. No, the real "contest" was C64 vs. Spectrum in those days. This was the situation in the netherlands in the eighties. -
I bought mine in '98 for about $15,- (Fl.30,- in old Dutch money, no sign of the Euro in '98 ) at a local toy store. The games where sold for $2,50, I bought 6. After about 6 months I got 13 games and a carrying bag for free from my neighbour after his kids had broken (killed?) their two Lynxs. Lucky me

thinking about getting an 80's computer
MosDN replied to AlexKIDD's topic in Classic Console Discussion
About the Spectrum: It was impossible to disguise a bad game with nice graphics due to colour clash and the availability of only 15 colours. And don't forget the single sound ("Beep") channel.... I bought mine in '84 and loved it since. Try the World of Spectrum website. Some good games: Atic Atac Jetset Willy Elite Lords of Midnight Skooldaze -

The Odyssey 2 was the machine that got me hooked on videogames, playing UFO at the local electronics shop, together with my younger brother. When we finally had enough money to buy one, they were sold out. All they had left was an Atari 2600 woody, still in my possession. I bought a Videopac 7000 a few months back (same as Odyssey 2) with about 8 games including some US releases (no PAL/NTSC problems) and I must say I still like it, about the same as Atari. UFO still rules.. BTW Look at these different models.
