Very nice! Although the name of the "company" is AtariAge Enterprises, but whatever.

Lookin' good. I'd have settled for something like: [score here] AMMO: xx But this is perfect!
-
It should be Action 26, since 26 is half of 52 and also references "2600" -B Funny you should say that. If I had to cut this game up into "volumes", I was hoping to make it two volumes (25 games each, +1 hidden game). Naturally it'd be called "ACTION 25".

Not bad. 'Cept maybe have two counters: One for ammo & one for score.

Gentlemen, I like what I'm seeing! Keep this up, and most importantly, spread the word! As far as BladeJunker's post goes, we all know about how abysmal the NES version turned out (the GEN version is admittedly better). But the goal of this is not to slap together a collection of buggy, unoriginal, uninspired collection of mostly space shooters. The goal here is to prove that a de-make is not only possible on a far less powerful console, but can actually be leagues better than the s**tbiscuit Active Enterprises pushed out the door. Also, I'd like to keep it true to it's roots. But if push comes to shove, I wouldn't mind too much if I had to slice it up into more than one volume, but I'd rather like to avoid it.

Bennybingo does it again! Ordered a 2600jr., Tunnel Runner, Midnight Magic & a coax adaptor. All arrived quickly, well packed, and (most importantly) for a very acceptable sum. He also took the time to answer a few questions I had (with pics, when necessary! How often do you see that?) quickly & expertly. Definitely hope to do business with in the future! The bottom line, you ask? Simply this: If you're looking to buy, & he contacts you JUMP ON THE OFFER, GRAB WITH BOTH HANDS & RUN WITH IT!

Which is something I'd like to avoid, if at all possible. I want this to be a quality collection of games, not a collection of garbage like the NES port was. If it comes down to it, I don't mind cutting it up into several different volumes, although, again, I'd rather like to avoid that. I don't even have problems with swapping out some of the games & replacing them with original titles (there are, however, a few games that I would like to keep from the NES port & give them a de-make on the 2600, just for kitsch value). Which is where the more seasoned homebrew devs come in...If anyone would know, it would be them.

Hi all, looking to buy a 2600 Jr. with power brick & two joysticks (prefer Wicos, but will entrtain other options) for a reasonable price. Also, if you could throw in a copy of Midnight Magic, that'd be great (but it's not a dealbreaker).

So, attached is a cartridge & end label art treatment I came up with, if by some freak act of God this game ever does come to fruition. The thin black line denotes the edge of the labels. Comments are welcome, as always.

So do I! But the problem is I can't program past the end of my nose. But, I'd gladly stay on as producer, playtester & provide the "Make your selection, NOW." voice sample. I'm hoping some of the more seasoned homebrew devs see this & can chime in (& maybe even show interest) with regards to this (as of now) pipedream. Needless to say, I'd love to see this idea get greenlit!

Well, It's been a while since I've logged in...Anyway, the conversations on this old thread made me wonder (more & more recently) if it is even possible to "port" Action 52 to the 2600. Of course, big difference between the infamously bad NES version & this one, is that this one should have 52 games we would actually want to play instead of the poor version that (unfortunately) got released. However, there's some problems I can see right away: First one being the cartridge size (data-wise, that is). The NES version clocked in at nearly 2 megabytes, & it wouldn't surprize me if the homebrew weighed in at nearly half that. Can the 2600 even handle a cart that data heavy? Or will it fry the power supply? I totally can't wait to read the discussions on this one!

Here are some quick reviews for everyone: All scores range on a scale from 0.0 to 10.0. Title: Klax Score: 9.5 Comments: Three words: "Addicting as hell!" Title: Roadblasters Score: 8.0 Comments: Pretty good port of the arcade version. Speech sysnthesis needs a little work though. Title: Pinball Jam Score: 5.7 Comments: A good idea, but only 2 tables! They probably could have squeezed another one in there (I'll take Pinbot, please!) if they tried. Title: Steel Talons Score: 8.2 Comments: Another good arcade port. Title: Crystal Mines II Score: 8.0 Comments: A good strategy game. Well worth the money. Title: Battlezone 2000 Score: 8.5 Comments: A solid game with kick @$$ easter eggs. Control was a bit rough around the edges though. Title: Raiden Score: 6.0 Comments: Weak weapons (initially), tougher enemies, and the all to often encountered "Hail of bullets" really drag this potential winner down! Title: Tournament Cyberball Score: 2.5 Comments: To take a quote from American Idol's Simon Cowell: "Bloody pathetic!"

Here are my picks for this one: Raiden II Raiden DX Wolfenstein 3D (This would kick @$$ on the Lynx!) Doom Doom II SpeedBall PowerDrome Racing Base Wars (old NES robot baseball game) Ballblazer This is all wishful thinking, I know. But what if someone did all these classics on the Lynx. Now *that* would be cool!
-
Is there anyone here who is willing to part with Raiden for the Lynx? It's one of my faves (in the arcade), & I've seen some good reviews on the net. Now I'd only with that they'd release Raiden II & DX (Wishful thinking, I know!) for the Lynx.
