I quit my job to do it full time!! LOL. Joking. But wouldn't that be awesome.

I plan on parking my butt in my comfy chair, lights out, beer in hand playing Coleco this weekend. And I'm not ashamed to admit it.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

So I have around 25 or so CV games. Most of the labels are torn, missing, etc. So my first questions are: 1) Are there replacement labels for sale? 2) I think many labels are boring. Any new, awesome labels as well? Next, I would like to make my own carts. Please understand I am NOT looking to pirate ROMS. I buy my games. The carts I want to make would hold my own creations or any ROM that I purchased legally. 3) I have my own EEPROM burner. What chips do I need? 4) Is there a blank circuit board to populate the chips in? 5) Are there empty cases available? Please note I'm not looking for any multi-game cart. I like single games per cart. I'd like to be able to make carts from 8k to 32k. Finally, 6) Is there anything different for making a SGM compatible cart that uses the new features? I wouldn't think so. Thanks for your help! Long live Colecovison!!

Pre-ordered one too! Just don't tell my wife. LOL Especially since I bought an F18A for my TI last week.

I have the manual to the Sprite board. What's the arcade board?

Dang it. I keep forgetting about that card project. Thanks.

So I'm building a simple 6502 homebrew and I'm thinking of using the F18A as the video controller. Anyone use the F18A in a homebrew or 6502 system?

So I'm digging through my massive collection of computers and junk. :-) I stumble upon a P2 motherboard with Intel CPU (not sure of speed), 32 x 2 (64) MB of RAM, SoundBlaster Live! (LOVE THIS CARD) and a PCI video card with DVI/VGA and COMPOSITE! out. I believe the video card is an ATI RV6P. I only need a case, hard drive, floppy drive and power supply. Assuming all of the components still work. The board has two USB ports, LPT (the gold ole days!), TWO 9 pin SERIAL (YES!) and PS/2 connectors. The board even has THREE ISA slots, four PCI and a AGP (I think). So the video card could probably be upgraded to AGP but I don't have one of those. Anyway, I'm only interested in DOS games so I think this setup would scream with them. Doom would be about the highest-end game I would want to play. I'm also thinking of buying a 386 and 486 for retro goodness too. But that is a separate topic. I believe P2 is still "retro" enough but with enough horsepower to drive many DOS games. Keep in mind I use DOS Box on my modern PC. But I want *REAL* hardware too. My questions are: 1) Worth the effort? Or would a P3 be better? 2) 64 MB seems plenty. Would you agree? 3) What would you do differently? Keeping in mind I'm trying to keep my purchases minimal. 4) Floppy drives are becoming more "collectible" (i.e., expensive). What do you recommend for modern floppy replacement? 5) Should I put Windows on there at all? Networking it might be nice. But, I don't care about browsing the internet with it. If so, what version of Windows? Windows 3.11 might be nice. Thanks!

As others have said, Apple II's aren't quite NTSC compliant. It works most of the time. Especially on older CRT's of the day. Find you a $5 CRT at Goodwill. I see them there all the time.

If you want to sell one, let me know. I might be interested. PM me. Thanks

Mindlord built a little a few GCC doodads.

Sorry to be dumb, but what is the LIBTI99? -
Trying to not sound like a stalker here (lol), but does anyone know how to contact Ed Averett? I didn't see any contact info on his site. I heard he lived in Chattanooga which is where I live. I'm not asking for an address or phone number. But a "contact me" form would be great. I certainly want to respect his privacy. Thanks.

Yeah, not really a fan of modding retro hardware for new stuff. My only exception would be for things that are 100% reversible or things that replace RF for composite, etc.

That's a great resource. I would love to make my own carts too. Thanks!

Well, perhaps I set the wrong tone. The TI was my first computer. At the time, I dreamed of owning the PEB. I LOVE that classic look of the silver TI and that giant box. Hell, I can't even look at Bill Cosby without feeling nostalgic for my TI. So "worth" for me is a giant yes. Even for nostalgic reasons. So to revise my question, is there anything cool to put inside it? Anything modern to put inside it? Thanks

I'm trying to talk myself into buying an F18a. Is there a selection of games that require it? Or new ones in development? Colecovision games could be included in that list but I was trying to stay on topic. Thanks.
-
Awesome. I'm late to the party but I'd be happy to do any testing if you needed anything. Thanks.

Several years ago I received a PEB for free. It's in pretty good shape from what I remember but it's been sitting on my shelf for years. I think it has a power supply in it (can't remember) but nothing else. I thought about buying an F18a and putting it in one of my five TI's and then maybe using the PEB for something. Also, I have NO modern storage options or modern peripherals for the TI. Which is a shame. I do have the speech synthesizer. Any ideas on what to put in it? Is it even worth using in 2016? Thanks!

Any updates on this? Would love to have one. I have five TI's waiting for some games. Lol

I have two Tandy 1000 EX's that are stock. No upgrades or software. What is the best way to get a modern storage solution on them to run DOS and play some awesome games? Thanks!

I just bought an original 520 ST for $29. It needs some cleaning and painting that I'm doing now. Original owner spilled red paint all over it!! Anyway, it didn't come with a power supply so I have no way to test it. My other ST's either don't have power supplies or they have them internal. This ST is the first. I'd rather use a modern PSU if I could. Anyone know where I can get something new or perhaps on how to build one? I have reasonable eletronic skills and can solder, etc. Thanks.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get a screen to come up. :-( I may try again sometime soon but this thing needs a lot of work. Oh well.

Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!

Doesn't the NES use A/C instead of D/C?
