Nope, these only make rhythmic clicking when played through my DF cart. The others have worked though so far.

The issue I had with Escape 2042 was that the audio CD for it didn't work on my model 1 SegaCD. It was confirmed later on by Orion that they only had model 2 SegaCDs to test it with and it did work on that just fine. I never had an issue with the game locking up as I recall. Pier Solar didn't work right on the audio cd through my model 1 SegaCD either so I got a model 2 just so I wouldn't have to worry about it going forward with games. -
"Dragonfly" my version of the Atari 7800 SD cartridge

All I was saying is that currently this information is pulled from the A78 header information. If RJ decides to change what is displayed to use the actual long file name then great! -
The issue with the missing sync is also why even on RF the image bouces up and down constantly on my modern TV even though it can tune into analog signals still. So it would be nice to find some way to completely take the input signals and just run them through a new encoder setup that can generate the right sync pulses. @the_crayon_king would it help if I send my board back to you?

I realize that. That isn't what was being asked. He was specially requesting that it be possible to push a button to show the game title vs the 8.3 truncated name on the LCD display. Currently on the DF cart, the game title that is shown briefly just before the loading of the cart begins and then is displayed after the game is loaded and playing, is coming from the A78 header file information. I have a few demos where it just has some generic information so the title of the game or demo..etc isn't actually shown. That is all I was talking about. -
WM's Magical Game Factory: ProjectY for Mega Drive/Genesis

I've not heard of the game causing anything to fry or damage a console. Just that some people have reported issues with the game not working on their particular model Genesis systems. That is why my hardware thread I created for this is to try and help isolate if we can figure out a specific model or models that have issues. I have noticed however that the game cartridge itself does get quite warm after playing it a while. That might indicate it doesn't have the proper level shifters in it for the voltage but I don't know the specifics. -

Mine never did change from Status of Shipping...and then it just appeared a few days later on its own. But mine never did change to show tracking or anything like that. I haven't checked it, but my guess is that it would still show as Shipping even though Fonzie has stated that you will get tracking and the status should change to Shipped once it has. So, not sure that is a good measure to know if anything has actually shipped or not. -

Okay, that kinda makes sense although most people have the opposite issue where they require a SegaCD or 32x attached on their setups. I have a va3 model 1 both US and JPN. But I never tested them connected up to my model 2 SegaCD. My model 1 va2 works in all setups with out issue. But now I might have to connect those two back up and plug them into my model 2 to see if I can replicate the issues you've seen. What is pretty consistent in all that have experienced issues, is that it is related to the detection routine in the game in regards to the SegaCD. And that is surprising considering the issues that WM had with the first releases of Pier Solar not working on model 1 SegaCD systems and having to be corrected in later releases. You would think that was something they would have figured out at this point. Hmm... BTW, that is why I have my model 2 CD attached and not my model1 is because of issues with both Pier Solar and Escape 2042. -

While it is a good idea, it will also depend on the A78 header containing the game title name within it. Many of the home brews do not have this information or is copied and pasted from something else and might not be correct. I also assume that disabling the name show option in the DF settings would also prevent this function from working properly. So it is kind of a double edged sword. So far in my case, renaming the files has helped me to know what is what using short forms of words. -

So if you only have the SegaCD attached to your va3 you get graphic corruption but it plays fine otherwise? Plays totally fine if you use it stock? Plays normally if you have the 32x attached and the SegaCD? Does it still play normal with only the 32x attached? -

Not currently no. The SDcard is formatted to Fat32 and the initial file systems on the DF cart uses 8.3 naming format. So you will always see the .A78 extensions. However, when you have selected a file, the name that is programmed into the header will appear on the screen in full. I've already modified the headers on a few files for the music demos that have been provided so that I know what the song is being played vs just going off the small file name. I've also been renaming a few files here and there to better fit in the 8.3 structure so I know what they are instead of them showing up truncated like they would in an actual DOS OS environment. -
the original release didn't have a box. It was a manual and cart only. I believe it was released sometime around 2004 or 2005? I know that is when I submitted my label for the games contest back then. I also remember the manual on mine is torn along the top of it but I don't recall why exactly? Doesn't effect the actual instructions or anything, just has a torn from sheet look across the top of it.

Far as I know leaving it set to be forced on doesn't affect anything else so it can likely just stay that way I believe. -
I changed it a second ago, but I mean LUM2 for Pin7 not LUM3 as there isn't a LUM3 on the TIA. But the pin was correct still. I really need to just UAV up a 2600 even for testing to make up something that might be more clear on 2600 installs. I have a H6 and vader units working that I could do this with so I could test both the 4050 plugin version of the install and the wire direct method as is being done here.

Well for the time being I'm quite happy with how everything sounds through my DF cart. I was going to suggest possibly using a different trimmer with larger values to adjust further but changing out those resistors would do the same. -
Doesn't CPUWIZ have a Dev cart he made that some devs have used? I don't know the specifics but I thought there was one?
-
Well in looking at the actual manual on the 2600 installation from TBA it shows that on the 2600 side that Lum0 on the UAV isn't connected. So I'm guessing he has it wired properly. I guess I really need to do a 2600 install to see about making those instructions a bit more clear perhaps? If I'm reading this right...: TIA pin 8 (LUM0) - 1 on UAV TIA pin 7 (LUM2) - 3 on UAV TIA pin 5 (LUM1) - 2 on UAV TIA pin 9 - Co In on UAV TIA pin 2 - S (sync) on UAV
-
I've wondered about this as well. My understanding is that you use the Col IN on 2600 installs and not the TIA as that was specifically put there to help isolate the TIA colorburst from the MARIA causing the dreaded diagonal interference patterns we got with other solutions like the LHE and even the Magic Knight to an extent. I thought all the 2600 installs required setting jumpers on the board though? I don't know as I've not installed any into a 2600 as yet since the cheaper composite mods seem to be enough for most people on the 2600 side of things.

did you try the updated rom that Trebor provided? The original rom was a .BIN mislabled as A78 and wouldn't work on the DF cart in that format. I've not tried any of the other rom releases but hopefully soon.

The only issue I have with the Pokey volume was how load it was intially compared to TIA. Commando was the most obvious where I saw this since the music was way louder than the sound effects. I also could barely hear Popeyes foot steps or punches in that WIP also. Lowering the trimmers for both POKEY to min brings it more in balance. The FM started to distort on my console if I had it set too loud so I adjusted it to around 90% or so as I thought it was bit too low initially compared to other sounds. But the issue we are touching on is that the trimmers seem to make no difference at all on Pac-man collection XM? Although it sounds fine on my setup but then I'm not using RF anymore for audio and have RCAs installed in dual mono for that on my personal 7800. -

It is okay, there are some things I got wrong on this vid for sure. It was until i was adjusting the contrast brightness of the video for the menu screens that I then realized it can't be an OLED screen because it is using a backlit panel and OLED doesn't require backlighting. So it is just a really clear LCD screen. I was assuming (My fault on that.) it was OLED since RJ provides the option for some color choices on your display. I went with the White text on Blue as you see in the vid. And the most glaring omission in my vid is not even mentioning Mr. Jankowski to begin with as the creator of the DF cart!!! I made sure to add that in the vid descriptions, but most people don't look at those so... yeah there are issues with this vid. Thank you for watching it though and hopefully the rest of the information is useful to others looking to possibly get one for themselves. -

I'm using a modified Triad adapter that I bought from Console5 like 2 years ago? I just cut the end and swapped the wires to reverse the polarity. As for the Pac-Man XM version, you are correct in that setting the trim pots seems to make zero difference including the YM trimmer. So I'm honestly not sure how Pac-man collection is operating or what exactly it is using? But I do know that once you set the RAM setting on the cart to Forced, that you no longer get the TIA audio in that game and it will show on the title screen as XM Enhanced. On my timmers, I had to set both of the pokey trimmers to the lowest setting as they were just too loud compared to the TIA audio from my console. But this can and will likely vary from console to console. I've done a lot of UAV upgrades on 7800s over the past 4 years now and even though I use 1% resistors in my installs for the audio section, I still find that pokey and TIA will have different volumes between each other. Most of the time the Pokey is still just a tad softer compared to the TIA but not by much. The DF cart is the exact opposite so that is why I mention the triim pots. BTW, all the information I cover in that video can also be found in the DF manual. I bugged @rj1307 a bit in some PMs regarding these settings and honestly if I had just RTFM, I wouldn't have had to bug him about it.
