  1. I am going to be different here. I now have all three..yes..all three TMNT games for the NES. My preference is for #2:The Arcade Game. I never liked the first one because it just didn't feel like TMNT to me. The Second one does a much better job of being the TMNT I loved in the arcade! The 3rd one is good, but I think that the second one moves a little smoother and is much more frantic than the 3rd one.
  2. Hmm..according the built in Help in Atari800winPlus... The shift key is the second fire button on the 5200. But the help does not display what which keyboard key is mapped as the first fire button. Basically this makes games like Moon Patrol and Popeye impossible to play because your unable to jump in Moon patrol..and in Popeye you can't punch!! I just find it odd that with all the other support this emu has...that the first fire button wasn't emulated somewhere. Maybe I am missing it...but if it is there...then tell me which key they have it mapped to..so I can reassign it in the emulated to be closer to the shift key or something.
  3. Marialover: That is my whole point. It would appear that the old Classic arcade games such as Centipede, Asteroids, Joust..etc are making somewhat of a comeback. If that is true and these old skool games are indeed bringing quarters back into the arcades..then they (Infograme) should want to put the Fuji and Atari name to the games. That would actually help establish Infograme as being a Pioneer in the arcade industry (Even thoug they aren't of course). Basically part of what made Atari wonderful was the new and inovative ideas behind their early arcade games. That idea cannot be brought over to just software successfully without the rest coming with it. Marketing wise, it would be wisest for Infograme to actually keep the Fuji and Atari name on the arcade machines, and simply place the Infograme name at the end. That way when a kid watches one of their commercials for a new gamecube or PS2 game, he will say...Oh!..Yeah!..those guys!!..they are the same ones that made that old arcade game with the ship blowing up all the rocks...or that other one where you fly on that big bird and try and take out all the other birds on the screen. Wow!..they did that back then...they should be awesome now!! I just feel that the Infograme could use the Atari Logo and name on the old rereleased arcade cabinets and still keep the image of the Atari success without the Atari nastiness... just my .0002 cents worth.
  4. All I want to know is: Why the heck isn't the first 5200 fire button supported in Atari800WinPlus!!! It is for me the best 5200 emu in the Windows enviroment. But the lack of the first fire button being supported makes many games impossible to play!!! Just curious...
  5. RnagerG: I do actually have an Intellivision. However, I very rarely ever play it. I find games for it all the time and they are usually very cheap ($1). But the fact is that I prefer most of the games for the other consoles. I actually prefer Colecovision Burgertime to the Intv version. I prefer 5200 Dreadnaught to Intv version. I guess I just find that while the Intv is a nice thing to have as part of my collection, it basically just sits there and I look at it wondering if I should even hold onto it. Don't get me wrong there are a few really good games for the system like Beauty and the Beast, Demon Attack on the Intv may have no equal etc... For me, it simply seems to be the ugly duckling in my collection that hardly gets any attention paid to it.
  6. No order here either: Atari 2600 Atari 5200 (These rock with good sticks) Atari 7800 Genesis & 32x Saturn SNES Colecovision Sega Game Gear Atari Lynx Nes I would like to add that as soon as I actually get myself a Jaguar...I am sure it would be in there..
  7. The Nintendo is one of my least actively collected for systems. So I haven't got much gamewise (About 25 or so). But of what I have these would be my top 10: #10 - Castlevania 2 #9 - SuperMario Bros. 3 #8 - Xenophobe (Still like 7800 version better) #7 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3 #6 - Castlevania (What a classic!) #5 - Batman (Why do so many dislike this game!?) #4 - SuperMario Bros. 2 (Still my Favorite!) #3 - Toobin' (Great conversion easier to control) #2 - Blaster Master (Better than Metroid IMHO) #1 - Contra (You knew it had to appear somewhere!) Most of the above games are the ones that really made me take notice of the NES in the first place. To be honest, there are several 7800 versions of games available for both that I prefer the 7800 versions over the NES. Double Dragon being one of them. Also 7800 Xevious and Xenophobe play better for me. I am sure that if I actually had Turtles 2: The Arcade Game that it would be in that list somewhere. I do know that if I had Super C it would and also...believe it or not, I always liked Fester's Quest. Enough rambling from me...back to my actual roots...(where is that 7800 proline stick now...?)
  8. Okay...well email me with more info. On the Saturns I see for sale around town. They would include the following. Basically you get the main player itself of course. Condition varies..but they are gauranteed to work. You get usually just one controller, the power cord, and then either the RF cable, or an an RCA Video/Stereo Audio cable for newer TVs with Video Inputs on the back. Usually they come with at least one game. Usually something like Virtua Fighter 2 or Daytona Racing. Again, if you want me to pick one of these up for you sometime. Let me know. They usually have several to pick from which vary in price from $29-$39...the only difference in them would be appearance, games included, sometimes they have two controllers instead of one. I can definitely get a bare bones Saturn with only one controller, RF, and power cord but no games...for $29. The bare bones setups are courtesy of GameXchange.
  9. Hehe...that was my Sig pic for awhile...but I got rid of it cause there was concern over the nature...and the amount of space the messages took with it. But just once for old times sake: I may just have to start using this one again...hehehe...
  10. Hmm.. Okay a few things about this. 1. I actually have a spare Saturn model 3 that I am not using. However, I do not have a power cord (Same as PSX), RF cable, video/audio, cable, nor any spare controllers. Which brings me to: 2. I can actually get complete saturns here with the rf and such and sometimes with a few games for about the $35 mark. So if you wanted...we could try and work something out along those lines. Or, I could get the RF and at least one controller and a power cord and piece a set with my spare Saturn here. I don't know, I am sure your wanting a complete setup and I can understand that. At least I can get complete setups that are guaranteed to work for about $35. So if you wanted me to pick one up for you that wouldn't be a problem. Then we can work out a trade or something along those lines. Email me with what Genesis and 32x stuff you have.
  11. Hehe... Now you guys know the source for my old Signature Pic I was using before. Which I still use from time to time on other sites. I hadn't seen it unedited in a long long time. Nice site...glad you found it Matt!
  12. Well, while it may not be the norm. My TV actually has 3 Coax inputs that it can receive. So my TV basically has a built in selector for the Coax. However I too have 4 systems requiring the Coax connection. So what I did was to actually get another F to Phono adapter (Coax to RCA phono) and plugged the forth system (Intellivision) into the coax Ant In on my 5200 4 port switch box. That way when the 5200 isn't on then all I have to do is hit the selector to the input the 5200 is connected to and fire up the Intellivision. Then to play the 5200...I turn off the Intellivision and just press the power on the 5200 for the switchbox to switch over for me. I also felt this would result in subpar picture especially from the Intellivision. I am happy to report that the Intellivision's picture is actually better than the 5200s. As for you other question. I don't think it would be much of a problem to connect another switch box to one of the inputs on the other switch box. You might lose some quality but I myself wouldn't know for sure.
  13. Then Jahfish and I were on the same thinking... That is also why I chose #74...that was the year of my arrival to this day and age. I figured that I wouldn't be the only one with the year of birth idea for the cart serial number. And I also figure most of us were born in the 70s...so I wanted #74 before it was too late. Can't wait to actually get our carts!!!...hehe..
  14. Despite how this looks and the fact that they are doing what they are...doesn't change one simple fact. We are confusing Law with opinion. Fact is that if Infograme bought the rights for the these games from Hasbro, then they actuall do have the right to change all the copyright information. Regardless of the fact that it was truly Atari who invented and distributed these games originally, Infograme does have the right legally to change all of these information since they now own the property rights. What I can't figure out is, why they are doing this? Infograme bought the Atari name and logo to better get them recognized on the market. And they are using the Fuji, and Atari logo on their new games and in the comercials. But if they feel that removing this information from the classic arcades is helping them, then they are wrong. Because I feel that they would get much better press if they left the Fuji and Atari name to the classics and simply added to the copyright with their name and or logo of Infograme below that. After all, why use one symbol that is so easy to identify with games on one end and then on another remove it when it clearly should belong? Either way, they aren't doing anything wrong legally guys and we will just have to get used to such changes like it or not.
  15. Well if you like Paddle games..then you aren't complete without Kaboom! Also for multiplayer paddle like I highly recommend Indy 500, but that actually uses the driving controllers which while physically similar they do use different potentiometers inside them. Basically the driving controllers allow a full 360 degree turn of the paddle versus the 240 or so of the real paddles. For space like games...I don't know what else your interested in...but you might want to check out Starmaster, or Star Raiders, or even Solaris. For arcade conversions most would agree that Centipede, Millipede, Ms. Pac-Man, and few others are really good to have. Let us know more your style of game you prefer and one of us or many of us are bound to give you some ideas. Welcome back to the world of Atari!
  16. Well Albert, Chances are that if he was an @Home customer...that he either is no longer on their network due to Excite closing down shop. Or...his email may have changed. Mine just changed this weekend and I have to update many many many profiles on the web regarding this. So it could just be a simply domain change or he may not even be part of the @home network anymore.
  17. Cool! Okay so if each rom is internally coded...then do you have the serial number being displayed when the game comes up somehow? I would think you must be in order to even bother putting it into the code. Unless your doing this also to prevent the "Everyone somehow has a copy" pirating that could occur? So unless they knew where to make the change then you would know about dupes. Well..either way, excellence all the same and I can't wait to get it! BTW for anyone wondering...I chose #74 on purpose and not because I was #74 on the list.
  18. Hehehe... Excellent! So..um...which one is number #74? hehe..just kidding...Glad to see you got them all in. BTW: if each one is internally serial numbered...where is this at? On the rom..in the rom code? What?
  19. I can't Believe it!!! I thought I was the only one who felt that Pepsi and Atari were made for each other!!! I too usually only have a Pepsi on hand. Back when I used to play for hours at a time...I actually had the whole 2 liter beside me. That way...I could keep chugging between rounds of the game...or as I died and just before it loaded up a new man. However, when food would call. A Pizza from Dominos or Papa Johns is what I prefer. hehe... [ 01-18-2002: Message edited by: -^Cro§Bow^- ]
  20. Actually the only reason I prefer Papa Johns over the rest is for two reasons. 1. Their pizza sauce rocks! 2. They are almost non greasy on the bottom of the pie slices. They (Papa Johns) is actually whooping Pizza Huts and Dominos here. All the Lil Ceasar's dissappeard completely here and so did some others. Pepsi Rules!!..Al you should know better! hehehe
  21. That is amazing...I haven't heard a 2600 do anything like this since Crane's patent on his method of audio in the scanlines bit on Pitfall 2! I am now really curious about this project and can't wait to see how I can play with something like this and mix it with my LAPC-1...hehe...rocking! Do you have more tracks that are longer that you have actually created with this new synth cart of yours? I would like to hear the whole track and not just a sample. The 2600 never ceases to amaze me...first Combat, then Ms. Pac-Man, then the Supercharger, then Pitfall 2, then Solaris...and now...the Synth Cart! What other tricks does this old 77' technology hold?!
  22. I forgot to mention..that Cafeman...I have two spare working 4 port 5200 switchboxes. One of them I had to replace some burned out components in...but it works like a champ now. Talking over with several experts they figure that someone in the past tried to plug an 800 power supply into the switchbox and fried it. But again, I had to replace an Op Amp in it and a Transistor to get it working again. The other spare I have is 100% and I haven't done any work on it as it didn't need any. However, these two switch boxes are different. The one I repaired doesn't have a Coax Ant In on it...it just has the VHF screws...the other however, does have both Ant. inputs. Either one you get doesn't matter in less you want to connect your cable or VCR through the thing. Myself, I have a seperate TV for my game systems and have nothing but the game systems connected. Some sort of trade would be the preferred method of those as well. Let us know.
  23. Cafeman: Matt is stating that on the Coax connection that actually plugs into the TV itself..that the center wire is bent down a bit on his switch boxes. It would be just a simply reforming to get that where it needs to be. As for the RF box question itself. No you can't get a box like this at Radio shack. What you could do is look aroud the 5200 FAQ here and you will see instruction on how to make a switch box for the 4 port model from a normal RF switch box. You can also modify the 5200 itself. But then you have to solder in some wires and a connector for the power supply and you have to remove the choke from the 5200 mainboard to remove the power connection. Otherwise you will smoke something.
  24. Well, I have printed up a few replacement labels for my older carts here. I have a Canon BJC8200 so it is more than up to the task of printing quality labels. I actually just use a high gloss or Photo pro type paper to print my labels on. I do resample the images to a very high resolution just to be sure I get a good print out. I use some cratfs spray adhesive to affix the labels themselves. Basically I cut out the label...turn it over to the back and spray it with the glue. It is sorta like rubber cement but is safe on all surfaces. I let is set for a bit to get tacky and then apply it onto the cart. I have done a Pitfall! Dodger Cars, Raquetball, Final Approach, and Crystal Castles carts this way. Hope that helps.
  25. Got my order in!! #74 Come to me!!!.... hehehe.. Great work David can't wait to see the label in the flesh..
