    My brother got me a copy of Robotron: 2084 for Atari 8-bit for Christmas, and I had to contend with finding a halfway comfortable way to hold two controllers at once. Good game, though.

    I played on a Stunt Cycle cabinet today! After getting a feel for the controls, I got my score up to 17 buses. What a neat game.

      The old black + white one?  We had a store up the hill about 3 blocks away, when I was a kid that had that game...Also the store I where bought my Atari 2600!  (The store was called Grand Central )...

    Rewatching 2010 after having finally read the book has really soured me on the film.

      Okay, but I wasn't comparing 2010 to 2001, I was comparing 2010 to 2010. I think most of my problems with the Hyams film stem from being too short and rushed to do the book justice.

      Yeah, I can see that. "The Odyssey Files" describes how some of those creative decisions came about (with Clarke's input throughout, BTW). Doing full justice to the book would probably have required a miniseries rather than a feature film, especially in those days.

    I finally realized that the TIA's HMxxx registers work by converting 2's complement to offset-8. Wasn't sure what the point was of flipping the top bit, but Wikipedia came to the rescue.

    The Harmony cartridge gives me the ability to see Nyan Cat on my TV, and that is a pretty sexy state of affairs.
