  1. Oh yeah, I figure I should ask this beforehand (to possibly save any unnecessary work): is the revision number usually on the top or bottom of the board? Never mind.
  2. It'll probably work, especially since that game is only 4K.
  3. A 2600 Jr Rev. A. I didn't think to check the board revision when I opened it a few weeks ago. I could take a look again tomorrow.
  4. Stella is free software, yes, but it's distributed under the terms of the GNU GPL version 2, a so-called "copyleft" license. If you modify copylefted software and then distribute your modified version, you're legally required to provide the source for your modifications, which some people and companies don't like for a variety of reasons. (I'm not making a moral judgement of the GPL here. I quite like it, actually.)
  5. What a bastardly hard game. 11,940 Bonus, hopefully: Rhonda, Pitfall Harry's niece from Pitfall II
  6. Some improvement. I think I've just about got the jumping under control (thanks for the video, oyamafamily ). Moon Patrol - 20,450
  7. Oof, I'm terrible at Moon Patrol. Moon Patrol - 7800 Gas Hog - 9830
  8. I think I'm fatigued on this game. I did find out, though, that Millipede has a screensaver, so that's cool.
  9. No improvement, by the way. This is all I can get:
  10. I know about that method; used it on the Harmony. For some reason I thought the connector was too thin to accommodate a swab, but I just checked and it'll be fine. I'll give it a good cleaning and report back tomorrow.
  11. Do you happen to know a good, halfway-convenient way to clean the connector? Cartridges are easy, but I've never actually done the connector.
  12. I followed SpiceWare's suggestion and cleaned my Harmony, and the results were slightly better than my first try, but about half the bits are still always high, with the same chaotic flickering in places. Running the parrot test actually showed some appreciable brightness gradients, mostly in the columns that had the "dark areas" I reported earlier.
  13. 27" Sharp NTSC (early 2000s), using v1.1 Cold: 22, 225, 15 Warm: 23, 226, 13
  14. I've never played much of Millipede before. It's really fun! 123,882
  15. Well, these are the photos I took; I tried to get decent coverage of the space underneath the shielding. I was able to read the part numbers with a flashlight at an extreme slant. The chipset is Taiwanese. Here are all three part numbers for completeness: RIOT 8733S UM6532 CPU STK 6507 8733 TIA 8733S UM6526N
  16. I have the motherboard out, but I haven't dared to undo the tabs holding the shielding in place. I can tell you immediately it has 3 separate chips. You probably need to see the exact part number for the TIA, don't you?
