  1. Odd, I never had any actual exposure to the NES when I was younger. Hell, I didn't even really start playing video games until 1999! All I know is that while the NES is cool (Famicom is cooler, though), the Atari grabs my attention like nothing else and I've been collecting for it for about two years now. There are, however, a few dumbasses at my school who think I'm a total nutjob for favoring the VCS over the Xbox 360, that the graphics are nothing but stick figures, and generally have no effing clue what they're talking about.
  2. The only one one I know I have is A.IV. Evolution for the PSX. It's a Japanese game, but I just spent what little money I have which means I have NO way of playing it yet.
  3. Nice. I'll definitely have to get A-VCS-tec some time when I actually have money.
  4. Awesome, I thought I was the only one here from central Illinois. Atari for life! (Out of curiosity, which county do you live in?)
  5. No doubt, Space Jockey on level 15 is fun. Luckily we have Air Raid, which forces you to die eventually. I usually play Space Jockey until I just get worn out and turn it off. Air Raid on level 7, Difficulty A/A and I'm dead in a few minutes. I love it! Seriously?
  6. I knew about the guide already, but I've noticed sometimes that some collectors think "Rare" isn't actually rare . But yeah, the rarest I have are two R5's (Raft Rider and Submarine Commander) and 12 R4's (Krull, Pitfall II, Bridge, Robot Tank, Stellar Track, Bermuda Triangle, Squeeze Box, Sub Scan, California Games, Gangster Alley, Survival Run, and Racquetball).
  7. Nice to see that others have dreams about completely odd-ball games. I've had 2 (3?) dreams about going to Game X Change and finding all these completely rare, unheard-of (and completely mass-produced ) games in all sorts of weird formats (including a slew of games on VHS tapes with no need for special accessories ) then all of a sudden I'm home and it turns out that I actually got the games in an unknown yet surprisingly well-stocked and taken-care-of room in our house. Then I wake up and realize that my collection hasn't become one of the most valuble in the world. I was even able to play them, too.
  8. Awesome game! I've wanted this for quite a while and it doesn't disappoint. Thanks Al and Andrew!
  9. How do you define "rare?" Well, in any case, I snagged Submarine Commander and Racquetball today for $1.95 each.
  10. It's a tough call between Pitfall II and Fall Down, but I chose Fall Down because I haven't gotten it "figured out" as much as Pitfall II, if that makes any sense.
  11. Demon Attack, though Phoenix and Spider Fighter are very close behind.
  12. Sometimes I won't play for a few weeks, but I've never really given up. Besides, homebrew games are just too fun to pass up .
  13. Less than 5 hours, because someone else is always hogging the TV and it's too much trouble to connect the VCS to the other one.

    Song B

Which means I'll be getting this song in the mail. Doubleplusgood .
  15. You shall be beaten with the body of a dead scorpion for saying that .

    Song B

I could seriously listen to this for hours . Nice job!
  17. Man, oh man is this thread making me crave Metroid on the VCS, and I'm absolutely loving the music and the mock-ups.
  18. Waiting dutifully for my Fall Down, 2005 Minigame Multicart, and Reindeer Rescue..... I'm gonna have SO much fun with these!
  19. I quite like playing Star Ship on the 2600. I just think it's so fun!
  20. This one is awesome. The ball now bends to my will! MUAHAHAHA!!!
  21. Heh, so does mine. I'm not jealous . Funny version of one of my favorite songs, though .
