A friggin' huge tote full of cords and cables I've held on to "in case I need one" but I'm off to Walmart in a few to see if they have a 1/4 to 1/4 male aux cable because it seems easier to than digging through that mess.

Kinda neat to think that in some mirror universe, people spam Youtube with videos that are nothing more than links to their forum posts.

The great tool racket -- buy a tool, and page 1 of the manual lets you know you need to buy more tools to assemble the tool you just bought.

Recent posts = a single topic, a familiar name -- guess another argument broke out

Amusing to see people so determined to argue every single point, that they're now arguing with the people who agree with them.

What's this you've said to me, my good friend? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in conflict resolution, and I've been involved in numerous friendly discussions, and I have over 300 confirmed friends. I am trained in polite discussions and I'm the top mediator in the entire neighborhood. You are worth more to me than just another target. I hope we will come to have a friendship never before seen on this Earth. Don't you think you might be hurting someone's feelings saying that over the internet? Think about it, my friend. As we speak I am contacting my good friends across the USA and your P.O. box is being traced right now so you better prepare for the greeting cards, friend. The greeting cards that help you with your hate.

Some people are so hell bent on arguing, esp. when they've even come up with a technique they (wrongfully) think makes them look smart (He tends to look for one little comment within a sentence and then attack that and so on, (and on and on))...
I can't stand people like that, who can't let other's posts stand alone; and I never engage him, even if he sometimes says something I do agree with. I think maybe he's a videogamer who was Captain of the Debate Team, but had no friends, and he's alienated everyone in real life so now he comes here. **Maybe this is why there's a decline hahahaaa...

I think a lot of people have an issue with transference and with not saying whatever it is that's bothering them. Case and point I have a very unpopular opinion about a thread that I just read. No matter how many times I revised my post, all that came out was negativity. So, I deleted it rather than submitting it, because why should I drag you all down?

Drove by 2 Gamestops this morning, and both had long lines outside the door waiting for them to open. Something new come out today that people area hoping to scalp?

Did "status" messages go away, or did I accidentally click something that hid/disabled them?

I was going to ask the same thing! Good that it's not just me! I seem to recall a time or two it happened in the past...Maybe the website or servers are updating or getting changed or something. I sure hope they come back though! It's like a finger on the pulse of AtariAge to me...A nice collection (give or take) of random thoughts from people.

So we can react with like, thanks, haha, confused, and sad. But seems we need a reaction for “damn, man… why you gotta be such a dick?!?!”
-
Eh, I hate finding an “article” that I’m legit interested in reading, but the damn thing is formatted as some kind of slide show with 1 sentence per page, and ads between each.

Amazon almost put some packing material in my shipment this time! Nice to see they can afford to splurge thanks to those rate increases!
… I say “almost” because they placed a DEFLATED sheet of those air bag thingies on top of the item. Deflated so it would fit in the box, I suppose. No way it could have fit if it weren't.
-
I ordered a small item from Amazon recently, and it came in a box that could have legitimately held two decent-sized shoeboxes. No packing material at all.
Then there are the items I've ordered where they don't even put them in a shipping box - just slap a label on it and let the world know that there's a $1200 switch sitting on my doorstep.
But it's OK, because it all averages out, right?
-
I had that happen once where they just slapped a label on the item box and shipped, and it arrived badly damaged. So I returned it, all nice and hassle free, and mailed it back the same way – just a label on the box. They complained about my “improper packaging” after receiving it. I think – and I don’t remember the specifics – but I got the impression that the seller may have disputed something to them because it was damaged and wanted to act like it was my fault.

Is “Copy and Paste the Whole Damn Thing from Twitter” a course requirement for journalism majors, now?
-
Yes. And comments from random users and even bots are considered verifiable sources to back-up outlandish claims. Its all a feedback loop. It works like this: make up fake story, get users to comment = we have verification! Then on the TV news "here's what is trending on Twitter"...even more verification! Easy peasy

Gonna have to find a different TV for this Dariusburst game. Anyone know of a model that's about 1' tall and 6' wide? seems that outta do it.

Not sure if “modern games, ugh… “ or “getting old, ugh…” but started a new game last night, and dozed off before the all the opening cinematic crap finished
-
I think that's a legit gripe.
I went through the same thing trying out "Super Lucky's Tale" on Xbox Game Pass.
The opening is, of course, an unskippable movie that seriously looks like it's made for little kids or creepy furries.Nevertheless, around the 5 minute mark I promptly quit the game and uninstalled it.
Developers need to get a clue about this sort of stupid nonsense as it is unnecessary. Users should vote with their dollars and avoid these games.

Decided to give Halo Infinite a shot since it’s
“free”included with Gamepass, starting today.- So I downloaded it, which was something like 25 GB.
- Then had to wait until 1PM est to play the Campaign.
- Logged in right after 1PM, and was told I had to download a 4 GB update before it would launch.
- Downloaded the update and launched
- Now, in the game, it tells me I need to go to “options” to download the campaign. Which is another 25 GB.
While it’s downloading, I’m gonna go dig up some old articles preaching the promise of “convenience” regarding this whole downloadable digital delivery stuff. Just for a laugh.

FedEx sure likes to mark a lot of things as "delivered" when it wasn't.

Three signs in the window of a restaurant drive thru asking me “due to national coin shortage, please consider rounding up”
Google says this place makes about 6 million per year. If they really wanna help with the coin shortage, they’re always welcome to round down. -
Just got an email that told me my package was delivered 2 days earlier that expected "due to Covid related delays." Wonder what the backstory is with that one.

Giving Persona 5 a shot. It had a flashback. And in that flashback, it cuts to another flashback. And in THAT flashback, it cuts to another flashback. Not sure what the heck is going on, yet.

Is it just my luck with what I’m clicking on, or is AA becoming home to a LOT more threads that’s just “here’s my latest Youtube video…. Like and subscribe, y’all?”

@John Stamos Mullet I wouldn't yet declare a winner for that contest. Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, 4chan, 8chan, reddit, and the speedrunning community have all been in contention for the top spot.

All of those are terrible too, sure. But YouTube is the only one where people have tried to turn the terrible crap they post on there into a "career". The only qualification for these chuckleheads to become a professional reviewer of (insert pop culture item here) is to have $30 to buy a webcam, and the shamelessness to record their hardcore edgelord opinions which are shared by the worst dregs of humanity.

Was having breakfast this AM, looked at my eggs, and got the inspiration for a totally new, never before thought of video game character.
This is gonna be huge!

Not sure what to play next.

Haven't started yet. This evening or tomorrow AM, hopefully. Landed on PS5, and now it's a toss up between Shadow Complex Remastered, or Persona 5, which are both PS4 games, but they're in my library on PS5, so works for me. Loved Shadow Complex the first couple of playthroughs on Xbox 360 years ago, and its not a very long game -- I've never played a Persona game, and I keep hearing tons of praise for that one.

"Ratchet and Clank" is my happy place ?

From the PS5 setup manual -- “Use a coin or similarly shaped object to tighten the screw.” Yeah, my go-to tool for that would have been a screwdriver, but I guess I’m old fashioned.

Bought a garden hose called NeverKink. Within 10 mins of use, it kinked. I feel deceived.
