  1. Any advantages to plopping down 30 bucks or so for Winzip or WinRAR instead of using something like 7-Zip for free?

I don't have any problem with the program, but I see no need whatsoever for the .7Z file format, and people who use 7-Zip invariably seem to create .7Z archives (the default format) that nobody else can open without 7-Zip, instead of just plain .ZIP archives, which is annoying.

  2. 85:15 Feels like my ratio of troubleshooting PC games to actually playing PC games.

Some of those give me the biggest fits. Dozens of hours on Doom (2016) and Witcher 3 on highest settings, never a crash that I can recall. 15 minutes of Ys: Oath in Felghana or newly gotten Hat in Time, and stuff goes crazy with what their support forums refer to as "known issues - no resolution"

My issue is reading about and buying games is a lot more convenient and takes less time than actually playing them.

Yep. I love my PS4 Pro + VR, and despise my i7 + 1080GTX for this very reason.

  3. I've only played the 7800 version, but I'm curious, are any versions of Karateka actually good?

    1. SoundGammon

Atari 8-Bit is great, the 7800 version is the worst. Poor controls & collision detection!

Yes.. C64 and Apple.. Famicom has a great one but the gate towards the end is so broken and unfair.

Sadly, it seems like any version of Karateka is better than the 7800 version.
