  1. It is somewhat harder, so I've never made it all that far through either, but I know there are a number of songs re-used, plus at least one new one, so we were both right it seems. I find T3k takes a longer time before you really get your eyes adjusted to what's going on behind the blur and wash of bonuses and distractions.
  2. Are you sure? It's got at least one new song (that plays over the menus), and new sound effects, but the music during gameplay is unmistakably the T2k CD soundtrack. There's a load of videos up on youtube, if like me you haven't got your Nuon set up right now.
  3. Not to mention Tempest 3000 on the Nuon which also uses the T2k CD soundtrack.
  4. It was probably bundled with it because one of the features of the JagCD is the Virtual Light Machine by Jeff Minter which produces colourful visuals, but can only be accessed by attempting to play an audio CD.

    Blackout!

I am so lost right now.

    Blackout!

Yeah, zero. Then $ffff if you're using dbra. That one always annoys me, I mean, who ends a loop on -1.
  7. Sorry to bump an old thread, but right now he's got a load of antiques up there including a felix dev kit, rapier dev kit, and the original cd dev kit that seems to be re-listed, not to mention a load of games.
  8. It's stereo - sfx will come out of left and right channels independently, music through both. Damn... I guess I'll have to have a poke at my cable then... Still, it's served me a couple of years which isn't bad for a length of ribbon cable.
  9. Also it might be my dodgy hand-made A/V cable, but I could only get sound out of the right channel. Is the game actually mono, or do I have to repair my cable?
  10. Playing on real hardware (with a black buttoned pad) I found it impossible to get past the invincible "ghosts" (or whatever they're meant to be) on the 3rd stage. But then I must admit I didn't have a huge amount of time to play. The autofire version is very welcome, and the easter egg is awesome. Nice work guys, as ever.

    NEW GAME RELEASE

Looks fantastic, I can't wait to give it a play, I don't think I've played the original in 20 years or more. Also:
  12. That's a really excellent game, great fun and with only a couple of minor issues. Nice work DrTypo! The only real issue with it I had was on some levels (especially the end of BBD) you can get killed in such a way as to re-spawn with no way forward except to kill yourself again, and again, and again in order to go back far enough that you can get onto the right track. I realise it's a challenge level, but that really is TERRIBLE level-design. Also the orientation of the ring after a re-spawn seems a little odd. Still, other than that it's a brilliant game.
  13. I'll admit I haven't found much/any use for this yet, but I frequently find myself needing ULS, which is a magnificient tool, even if getting discjuggler working is a bit awkward on some machines. (btw, I think I've found a typo in ULS. When it says "image created, burn with these settings", one of the numbers is close to but different from the default in discjuggler. I always leave it at the default value and it burns just fine, so I'm guessing you typed it in wrong, or else you know some cd voodoo that I don't).
  14. Don't forget the Num-Pad, weren't you planning on using some of those keys for Rebooteroids? Most rotaries have one but not all, and in some cases (askew's pro rotaries) some buttons might be wired together / shorted out. Yeah, it's a minefield all right. Maybe have an option for people with non-standard / broken controllers to use the buttons from player 2? Assuming, of course, that there isn't a 2nd player wanting to play. T2k does that for the bonus rounds. If the first control touched in a bonus is on pad 2, that one is used instead, meaning you can use a d-pad for them which works better.
  15. I'm honoured and awed that you would put such an epic soundtrack to those controllers. Also glad you're enjoying them. For everybody else: I hope to have a batch ready to sell soon. I can't say exactly how soon, because I need to order some more parts, and finish the assembly of them and such, and what with christmas coming up stuff may or may not get done as quickly as I'd like it to. When I have some ready for sale, you'll hear about it here on AA first.
  16. I don't fancy sharing really, and don't think anyone would want to share with me either, apparently I sound "Like a caged dinosaur" when I sleep.
  17. Hmm... so we're looking at about £150 then... I'll have to have a dig behind the sofa, see what I can pull up. When do you need a definite answer by?
  18. I really want to go, however money right now is really tight. Can you give us an accurate estimation on how much it will cost? (I can be picked up from the edge of London if that makes a difference)
  19. No thanks not for me. I'm saving my pennies for e-jagfest.
  20. I guess that makes sense if you do a lot of C/C++ work normally. Habits carry over easily, which is why I wrote a bit of C a while ago with a handful of generic int's called d0 - d7 .
  21. *raises hand* I'm that kind of masochist (when it comes to code anyway). I like the way my .globl's and .externs make it explicit what goes in and out of which files, and I make each source file into exactly one object file with atari's original mac and aln... although I do use a much newer version of make to bind it all together for me. I don't even use the shortcuts to global things like the double colon, but I do sometimes make .inc files if I've got a load of .externs to put in most of my files, or for constants that affect many files.
  22. Or, y'know, maybe I'll just leave it as it is, so I don't have to design a whole new circuit for it It's a proper arcade quality illuminated button. There is an LED inside, which hits a diffuse filter and gives a nice glow across the whole surface of the button.
  23. The button glows all the time, rather than just with button-presses, but it does look rather cool. I did once (accidentally) have it lighting up on each button push, and it didn't look nearly as good as having it on all the time.
