I seem to remember reading in STFormat about a unix hardware emulator on a cartridge. I cant remember the name of it but I remember it being very expensive (I have a feeling it was 300 pounds, which was twice the price of a new ST, but that sounds... unrealistic now I think about it more). Then again, it was probably cheaper than a real copy of unix, and this was in the days before linux I believe (or at least before it was well known).

I know newbies like me shouldnt start insulting people, but how on earth did you manage to forget about stunt car racer in your list of 3-D games! Which not only was 3-D, it was also capable of playing two player via a serial cable.

The wonderful STFormat gave away a complete copy of STOS on disk no. 37b you can download images of allmost all their cover disks from this site, which can then be used with emu's or real ST's. http://dewey.ecs.soton.ac.uk/stformat/ Hope that helps. You'll also found they gave away quite a few STOS extensions on later disks, some shareware, some free. As for the manual, I've got no idea, sorry.

If I remember correctly, STe's had the 4k colour pallette, a blitter chip, analog joystick ports (near the midi ports), a newer version of tos (tho not 2.6 I think), and I think that was it. There were quite a few games that required STe's that I could never get my STfm to play, including a really good pinball game who's name escapes me now.
