By the way i'm 37 and i've done work on the ibm for my job, mainly in Turbobasic, now i'm learning the ST, a piece of cake when you work with VDI, AES and TOS...Still, my first love is the A8...

I think many of us use the 8-bit mainly for programming proyects that never see the light of day, i mean, i don't game a lot on the 8-bit, but i toyed with programming languages a lot, in fact a great deal of my original A8 stuff is programming tools. When will i be able to complete a proyect??, maybe never, lack of time, lack of will, whatever... Anyway i love to play with my programming languages, Action!, Microsoft Basic, Basic XE, Turbobasic, Lightspeed C, Kyan Pascal, Mac 65, Quick, etc....I've made versions of the same routine in all languages just for the fun of it...

Ok, just wondering, what is the difference between GFA Basic 3.07 and the last version for the ST 3.5... I got an original copy of 3.07 with manual but i also got 3.5 somewhere on the net... Now, i need a simple c compiler for the ST, i don't have a hard drive so i need simple, i goto Lattice 5.x but does not include the manual so i'm clueless here. Thank you very much.

This has been o ebay for a couple of days Mega ST I learned the hard way to buy equipment extrictly to collectors. Anyway i'm tempted to get this one, but, i would like you to share the bad ebay experiences with resellers like this... Well, this goes mine: I bought a 1040, monitor and modem from a guy on ebay, well, when i got it the machinne is full of roaches, the modem is rusty, i was lucky the monitor was ok, now i'm trying to fix the broken 1040, get a new drive... , oh my, i think i was reckless in that auction...

You can use a 2.5 hd in the falcon, i have a 4.8 gig. laptop one that works wonders, you will need to format the disk and make the partitions, i use HDDRIVER, i made 5 partitions, TOS can't see drives bigger than 1 gig, then copy anything from one drive to the other. How? just confugure the lap top drive as an slave and buy a 2.5 ide cable.

You can work with HD disks on the XF551, at least i can with mine. I can format, re-format with no problems at all... Anyway just go and get those disks, if you don´t want them sell them on e-bay so we all have a chance to get them...

You should format 720k disks, those work fine in any ST...

Well, i have the Atarimax happy 1050 and it works great, no problem in my drive, i think the price is right, Let's support the few developers for 8-bit stuff, ok?. Don't let them go. Now, the sio2pc, let's you use any Microsoft based computer as an slave for the A8-bit. Great isn't it, you can configure it as a hard drive and handle your disks virtually on the PC, you can build it yourself or you can buy one out. Javier.

Composite video, no monitor, anyway any modern tv looks superb with the XEGS, all the other A8 have monitor outputs. 3. I have a SVHS custom video cable for my C-64, will it work on a 65 or 130XE? There's a mod for Super video somewhere on the web. 4. Is there a current FAQ anywhere?? I can only find old/crusty ones! Atari 8-bit Faq. Michel Current updates the faq every month. 5. Hy, I bought Hddriver last saturday, Uwe was kind enogh to send the software via e-mail without manual, no german for me, i installed the software and repartition my drive... Now it works fine. I didn't bought from the british because they don't take credit cards... therefore i have no manual, altough hdconfig is very easy to use, i would love to know what else can i do with this software.
