  1. I'll post up some pictures later on..
  2. I recently bought a GameAxe system mint in box off eBay and figured I'd do a review of the system: Sound: Good sound.. has a volume control and has good volume. I test sound by taking my stuff into the bathroom. As weird or dirty as this sound, my bathroom has a fan inside.. it's very loud. I stand there and turn my stuff on and play games for a few minutes. My Gameboy Advance SP with sound at the highest, you can barely hear it. The GameAxe is loud, clear, and also has a built in headphone jack. Picture: Screen is a backlit LCD. There's no way to turn the backlight off, but you can turn the screen off. This is useful to save batteries if you're using the AV/Out cable to connect the unit to your television. The screen is a little blurry, similar to a Game Gear. You can adjust the brightness. I find to play games best you have to hold the screen at an angle. Not too troublesome, but in the heat of the game I sometimes move and have to readjust between rounds. Some games look good, others the text is hard to read being so small and blurry. Controller: Your normal directional pad.. works good. Unit has 6 buttons. Start, Select, A, B, and turbo buttons for A and B. The buttons are black, same color as the unit, so in the dark it's hard to find them at first until you get familiar with the system. Weight: Pretty weighty unit. Must be 2-3 pounds or so. Although being a big heavy, I had no problem playing as long as I did. Other: Unit has a reset button, two ports to add external joysticks, an AV/In port, and a port for hooking up a wall adapter. The unit runs on 6 AA batteries. So far I've played for about an hour with no problems.. although I do notice that if I move sometimes the cartridge becomes unseated. This could be just this one cartridge. I'm not sure yet as I have yet to dig up other cartridges to try. Right now I am playing an 84 in 1 Multicart and somewhere around here I'll dig up my Street Fighter II. The Famicom cartridges stick out the top of the unit about 3 inches, so if you want to use an NES cartridge you will need a Famicom adapter and that will make the cartridge stick out 8 or 9 inches! What you could do though is take your NES cartridge out of it's case, since they're not usually the full size of the case anyway and make yourself a smaller case. Instructions can be found on the web about that. Overall rating: I'm very happy with my purchase. I would reccommend the unit to anyone wanting a portable NES, but be warned eye strain is a problem because of the blurryness (is this because you're taking a picture meant for TV down to a small size or because of blurry LCD used in Game Axe? I am not sure). I am not sure I would have been as happy if I had NES games inside because of how far they would stick out the back, but I like the fact that I have one huge multicart with a lot of games and it's not too bad size. So I think I'll stick to the multicart mostly and I'll take a few special games like Solomon's Key and Milon's Secret Castle and make their casings smaller.
  3. Here's my evaluation: First off, I'd have bought every one LOL! Even all the doubles. Second off, I think they do use a generic sku. They can't just have had a whole warehouse full of new O2 games.. it's unlikely. So I bet they just get a bunch of old crap and divide them up by stores.. all with the same SKU's.. so they could have a bunch of old crap and no store knows what it'll get.
  4. Play NES games on your GBA: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...ssPageName=WDVW
  5. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQgotopageZ1QQsa...osortpropertyZ1 I like how the auction says something about a rare find in his brothers closet. Why did his brother have two?!
  6. Well, I received my GameAxe today. I must say this lady didn't lie.. it really is mint. Everything from the unit to the box looks great. She packed it really well. I had to spend a few minutes opening it.. then when I opened it even the foam inside was mint.
  7. I found one of those at a fleamarket once for like $10. I should have kept it.
  8. Interested in a working laptop?! Too bad I live in New Jersey.
  9. I don't normally find in box games like that, no. I do know someone who has a River Raid II new in box, but he wants $50.
  10. If I bought the Heavy Sixer I'd keep it for myself though. Imagine someone buying mint original joysticks and then going to play Decathalon on the 1500 meter run or whatever the long one is LOL!
  11. I know someone selling a Heavy Sixer and he says it's "mint in box".. you think it's worth $300?!
  12. Wow.. nice find. I'd buy that for my collection if I had money.
  13. Yeah I just read the whole thing. Nice interview. Now I want to go find Impossible Mission and an emulator.
  14. Stay awhile. Stay forever! Impossible Mission was one of the best games for the C64. Did he also work on Impossible Mission II?! I don't know why the "demo" scene never caught on with PC's. I remember back in the day all those "demo makers" where you could make scrolling text come across the screen. People would crack games and pop a demo on the front. I used to love those. Music, scrolling words, greets, other stuff. I used to love downloading demos and hex editing them for use on local BBS'es.
  15. They still sell console TV's today! I can't remember what brand, but I think it's RCA. I was at work one day and we were looking on their website and they had shown a console. It might have been Magnavox, but unfortunately they are re-doing their website. I just remember it's a model we carry at Circuit City where I work. I found this: http://www.800stereo.com/prods/rca-g36710.html But I don't remember the one I saw looking like that. It was a 2004 model and it had darker wood around it with those intricate designs carved in it if I remember correct.
  16. Worked fine for me. It opened in Windows Media Player. That's running on a 2600?!
  17. Oh.. and I forgot to mention.. arcade games will be scattered around the house.. as many as they will let me.. My favorites: Black Knight and Black Knight 2000 pinball, Banzai Run pinball, maybe a Pinball 2000 or two. I've always liked the game Rad Mobile 'cause the whole machine moved as you played.. you sat in it and drove a car. I've always liked Super Don Quixote too.. was one of them Laserdisc types. I was also very fond of Mappy and Indiana Jones game. Well, I can't think of all the ones I'd want at the moment.
  18. Well I'm in the process of a "home renovation" of sorts.. See, I live in NJ now in an apartment with my Mom and her Husband. We're moving out to Hawaii in a year or a year and a half and buying a huuuge house. My Mom's Husband's Sister is retiring from the United Nations.. she's been working there 30 years. She gets $250,000 cash and $35,000 a year to live on, so there will be 5 of us living in the house. All of us will have our own bedroom and our own bathroom! If anyone wishes to see the floorplan of the house: http://www.hpm-hawaii.com/MaluhiaFP.htm 1 - The foyer we'd cut in half and the study we're extending a bit into the living room. This will be my bedroom and my bathroom will be over where the foyer was. 2 - If you look where the dining room meets the living room on that back wall.. I plan on building a bar there with a MAME built in with a swivel monitor. 3 - Where the stove is in the kitchen I have plans to relocate that and that whole wall I want to cut a hole, counter level, so between the counter and the top cabinets you will see into the living room. That's where a 100 gallon fish tank will go. 4 - I am going to pay some extra money (I'm not paying for the house) to have the garage soundproofed.. this way I can put a drum machine out there to practice on and my guitars and amps will go there. 5 - As for my bedroom.. I'm going to put a pretty big bed and a couch. I'm going to build a holder the size of a wall to put games in. Or maybe I'll just do shelves, but an actual holder with slots would be much cooler. I'll have two or three computers setup for when people come over. I'll probably hook up a small flatscreen on the bathroom wall that will get TV and internet. 6 - And lastly.. out back I'm going to build a small shed like to store the rather large food dehydrator I'm buying. I've been told by atleast 10 people I make the best beef jerky they've ever had. So, I'm going to set them up something where they can order jerky off me. Costs me under $20 and I can make 3-4 pounds of jerky. If you were to buy quality jerky from an online place or through a catalog it would be like $20 or $30 for just one pound! That's ridiculous!
  19. Sean Kelly still have a website?! I haven't heard from him in awhile.
  20. You know what?! He left you a positive.. I'd leave him a neutral saying "item was as described, beware of seller's overpriced crappy shipping" or something like that..
  21. Wow.. if I had a spot for that I'd get you something you wanted. My Aunt's Boyfriend and my Mom's Husband looove golf.
  22. You can get an Atari 5200 4-port or 2-port WITH the multicart for $224.95 including one rebuilt controller. I think he stole the picture from here.. looks really familiar: http://www.4jays.com/5200-list.JPG http://www.4jays.com/52multi.jpg So, that's an older Sean Kelly cart?!
  23. That's funny. As soon as I saw it I said Sean Kelly to myself, but where were the dip switches.. who sells 5200 multicarts with menus on here?! I might be interested in one.
  24. I only leave feedback for people who have left me feedback if I am the seller. This ensures they don't leave me retailation negative feedback if I have to leave them feedback.
  25. Yep you can get those cartridges right here..
