By the way, I got that previous post covered. Just waiting for it to ship to me, then it's off to the wood carver with the rest of my Atari so he can test out the first one.

Shouldn't this go in the bAtari Basic forum as well? What does nobody see it?
-
Might want to start posting in the bAtari Basic forum, dude.

Maybe one day we'll get a version of SPACE TAXI on the 2600 with tons of levels.
-
Yeah, multiple title screens is definitely something I'd be interested in some day. I could have a title screen, and then another for end game, and maybe one for intermission.

Are we going to have to say which version of bB we're using from now on when we need help? I wonder.. can RevEng's title screen thing be made to simulate a spinning wheel, but stop randomly on either color? The score could be used as the wheel is spinning to show what number.

Figured as such, but thought I'd mention it anyway. I wouldn't even know where to begin, because sometimes I find myself getting lost in my goto and gosub/returns. gosub+return commands is more complicated. It's pretty much impossible to determine one subroutine's return from another, since there's no real way to check where a subroutine ends. I can't even do gosub/return counts, since it's a valid technique to have multiple return points from a subroutine, and you could have multiple gosubs to the same sub. I think I've hit a lot of the obvious checks, but I have a few other ideas on what could be added... goto/gosub without real destination. dimming a variable name that's a reserved keyword setting up a constant that's a reserved keyword ...that said, I'm not rushing to update this right now, beyond bugfixes. I have too many projects right now as-is.

My friend's name is Bobby, so I was going to call name it Bobby instead. I wanted to try and remake the game into him trying to get his stolen guitar amp back. I also wanted to try and incorporate a piece of their music into the game. There's other one button game(s?) but this was my favorite.
-
Very good looking. The music is nice. I wish I knew how to do music like that.

I thought I'd present to you another game with a fairly easy idea to port to the 2600. I planned on doing it, but haven't done much of programming lately. It's a game called One Button Bob. Bob does different actions all using one button. The game is made up of static screens and when he reaches the right side safely he proceeds to the next screen. The object of the game is to finish using the LEAST amount of button presses. Bob automatically scrolls to the right. So, for example, in screen 1 the button causes you to throw a boomerang. You need to kill a bat to get by. Screen 2 you use the button to jump over a pit. Screen 3 you use the button to stop him from moving so you're not hit by an arrow. This game would be easier once we get the new bAtari Basic to work with because we'll have more sprites available, but it'd be doable now I suppose. Towards the end you get to fight a large monster. Play the game and see: http://armorgames.com/play/5286/one-button-bob

Well, awesome job so far. Not bad on the title music. I like that you have movement of his feet. Since you are only using one sprite, you can probably use both player sprites in some creative way to make him more colorful or animated or something.. The game does have some bugs, but some of them you probably already know. - Somehow the guy flies off the screen sometimes for no reason. Sometimes I see his feet only. I think it's when I am either pressing joystick or button (or both) and collide with falling wall. - Why does the guy sometimes have an epileptic seizure when the wall is falling? Sometimes he moves violently, other times he just waits patiently. I would like the game to automatically continue after a few seconds.

Ooh! I can't wait to see this once I get home. You should post a screen shot for the lazy (or if you're at work surfing the web like me). I can't believe anything involved with me HELPED with a scanline issue. LOL! All I want for Christmas is to fix my fish game.

Stella audio settings? What does each thing do?
yuppicide replied to Random Terrain's topic in Emulation
It's an old post, but I thought it deserved a bump since it answered my question. I had Stella 3.3, but only recently started fooling around again since building this new PC. I had sound issues with some popping noise. Thought maybe it was my game code. Downgraded to Stella 3.2 with same issue. I found out it was a Fragment Size issue in my audio options. I fooled around and 4KB worked for me. -
The best place I've found help with that is Pleasuredome. Do a Google search for it because I don't think I'm allowed to list torrent sites here. Anyway, I'm not preaching.. I have the torrents from there. They helped me with clrmame. It was confusing to me why it said I was missing so much. Eitherway, I don't totally remember, but they did help me resolve my issues and got me updated.

Please see this thread.. maybe someone knows who I should talk to: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/176507-who-makes-2600-homebrews/page__view__findpost__p__2199041

Who's going to make homebrews if Albert is busy with his new business? Does anyone else burn ROM's and assemble the boards for me? Will I get the same parts? As some of you know I have a special cartridge case being made out of wood.. they're being made to spec of what Albert sent me.. so, I'm in need of a test one to send my wood carver.. he already has a non-functioning (as far as I know) PCB with ROM from Albert. I need to burn him a copy of my game, send him that along with my power supply, tv hookup, and joystick, so he can test my actual game, in the actual wood cartridge, in the actual Atari 2600. After that he'll send me one that I'll take up to the Digital Press store and test fit in a few of Joe's different type of 2600's.

I predict RT has a bunch of work ahead.

Am I allowed to curse here? OH MY FUCKIN GOD! I wonder how cycles and stuff works in this one? Maybe I can finally get my "Blocked In" game to not have scanline problem.
