Collecting Supplies - Albert this is for you too!
mumbai replied to etrader99's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Are they? The AA Store specifies only the dimensions and thickness of the collecting supplies, and nothing about the archival qualities of the materials themselves. They don't look "high-end" to me, and given that nothing is stated about the archival properties, I assumed them to be nothing more than dust covers (certainly not archival quality) for carts, manuals, and boxes. Could be wrong, but there's no solid clue to the Store's listings... -
Any of you Colecovision Fans have one of these?

The DINA (and the later Personal Arcade) is an incredibly poor substitute for a standard CV. stlouisrams2004 recently sold a boxed DINA on eBay for $150. He purchased it off eBay about six weeks prior for less than half that (one bid on each of those auctions) ... "true" DINAs are hard to find, but they're not much more than collectors' pieces (and so, the limited bidder interest in these cases). Oh, and if you want a copy of Meteoric Shower (the built-in game), you can always purchase a copy from eColeco. If you're just looking for the ROM image, it's not hard to locate. -
This thread needs pictures....

You're overreacting. Unless you're going to also crusade against every seller who declares R1's as "ultra mega fuggedaboutit rare" just chalk this up to an extreme hard sell that has crossed over into the seller's own little world. And I'm not sure why'd you'd be upset should this particular auction runs to $150 ... you hooked the ever-impatient jaygee112 for $300 tonight, which should be more than enough to keep you mollified.

Yeah. Your URL is broken, but that's ok, it looks like someone purchased the NIB Sea Devil between when I saw it early this afternoon and now (there's only the manual @ Atari2600.com now).

Care to try the long-time ownership defense on the DINA? (I keed! I keed!) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=8202486303 was part of this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=8196068975 ...though Sea Devil seems incredibly overpriced. I don't collect Bally, but isn't Atari2600.com offering the same title NIB for $85?

It's not that hard ... granted, two of the three bidders in the auction I fingered as an example aren't exorbitant bidders, but silver Quest turns up enough to keep it fairly cheap. DigitPress gives it an R5/$20 -- for the silver label variant, it's a rather rare event for it to near $20 on eBay. Calling it an R5 seems a little off, but that may be because DP puts far more difficult carts to obtain (Dance Fantasy, Gust Buster, and criminy! even WizMath) in the same rarity class. Forget I even referenced DP. Shhh... the 2600 version costs more than that for the ColecoVision.
-
That's rather odd, as the gold-label is actually harder to locate for the ColecoVision. Example of the silver label from just this past week: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=8200457262

Actually, Quest for Quintana Roo exists in both silver and gold label releases for the ColecoVision...
-
I got a whole box full ... want one?
-
Not all new ColecoVision hand controllers are boxed.

Megan, are you looking for cartridge or diskette titles (or both)? I have a number of C64 games kicking around here looking for a better home. PM me if you're still looking about, and I'll try to pull together a list of what I have.
-
Definitely have a spare C128 kicking around here. I believe I also have a spare A/V cable, though it might take a couple days to locate it. PM with what you're looking to offer for either or both.
-
Not a problem. Figured someone would value that particular item more than I ever would.
-
Does that bid stacking ever work, diggs130? Just looks like a waste of effort.
-
Sellers are responsible for their listings, errors or no. After waiting for another response from the seller (or a suitable period of time should one not be forthcoming), report the seller to eBay as a "non-selling seller" ... then wait to see what happens. As it stands, given that a transaction was completed, both of you are capable of dropping the feedback bomb on the other, which isn't a good situation in light of how things have transpired since the BIN was exercised. For shame on the seller.
-
Granted, it's buried in a lot of barely-related items, but there you have it: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=8200249339

In line with the above remark about the 4th, I'd expect a fair number of people (in general, how that translates to eBay, who knows) to light out for the weekend to take advantage of the three-day break. Gotta love the regular attempt to entice sellers to list around a major US holiday...
-
Qubes for the ColecoVision hasn't fetched that amount on its own in months (on eBay).
-
There's another Qubes for ColecoVision elsewhere on eBay at this moment ... not like this was the only immediate opportunity.
-
I assume this is an unlicensed product?
-
Tunnels & Trolls was a paper-and-pencil RPG akin to Dungeons & Dragons ... it could have been translated into a video game any number of ways. The PC translation you mention wasn't released until 1990, so it probably is nowhere near an approximation of what a CV game based on the property might have become. (Aside: How did I miss that one at the time? New World Computing programmed it ... strange.) See: http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?gameid=1192 A license deal in search of a game and not much else, it would seem.

mumbai replied to Shernand's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Would love to see a pic of this. What an odd thing. Possibly interested in trading for it. -
Strange? Yes.
