  1. Thanks pboland! Glad I didn't miss out on one of these.
  2. Would you happen to still be selling these? I know there hasn't been a lot of activity in here lately, but I'm interested if there's still a want list available. Thank you.
  3. I seem to be striking out with HDMI cables connected to the VCS. If I change the VCS resolution to 2160p, two cables I've tried that supposedly support 4K provide no picture at all. The third has an even weirder problem that I've repeated maybe a dozen times just to make sure I'm not going nuts. If I cold boot the VCS and it hasn't been on in awhile (say at least 20 minutes), all I get is a black screen. This problem is immediately resolved once I hold the power button in and reboot. (4K resolution will then display correctly.) This cold boot issue, however, does not happen if I'm using this same cable and the VCS is set to 1080p. Anyone else having these problems? Does anyone have a reliable cable brand they recommend for 4K Ultra HD? Thank you.
  4. If you haven't done anything else with it yet to lose a lot of progress, I noticed you can factory reset it in the System tab. (Under System there's also a screen for Network if you haven't already tried that.)
  5. Just wondering if there is a way to adjust mouse acceleration for the VCS? (Like if I'm in the Chrome app for instance - not talking about PC mode.) The default setting seems kind of slow for a couple of different ones I've tried.
  6. Actually - after the blood stopped rushing to my head I gave this some more thought. Thinking maybe the issue was my USB flash drive wasn't fitting properly in the USB slots, I tried it again only this time connected it via a 6 inch long USB extension cord. It's flashing as I type this message.
  7. Thanks. I'm pretty mad about this. Tried etcher and rufus to create a flash drive. Neither one is recognized when I boot up the VCS. Tried 3 different USB ports. The VCS just boots up like it normally would. I'm happy this worked for everyone else, but for me it does not. This is just ridiculous.
  8. I'm having the exact same problem. Could you share the solution? Thank you very much.
  9. Would be great to know the mystery behind the history of this thing and how the store managed to acquire it.
  10. My vote is for Zaxxon. I'd actually be pretty forgiving about the perspective they used for the home game. OK, so you had to get a little creative due to the limitations of the system. I understand. But I don't even think they did THAT right. Below are a couple screenshots showing how the game looks now (which seriously bugs my OCD nature) and how it SHOULD look. The change is subtle but I think it makes a world of difference. I don't understand why no one thought of how odd the original image looks.
  11. LOL Oh man - I hope I didn't throw away a rare Kool-Aid Man decades ago due to the difficulty switch in A! Well waddaya know, that was the problem. I'm now making burgers and outrunning squares of... something. Thanks everyone.
  12. Finding a working version of BurgerTime is harder than I thought. Bought one off eBay where the screen had a lot of corrupted graphics and wouldn't start. Bought a second one off eBay where the screen looks fine but - again - won't start. (The reset switch has no effect. Tried the game in both a 2600 and 7800.) I remember when I was a kid I had a Kool Aid Man that just stopped working and ended up in the trash. Do M Network games have a limited lifespan? Or is there a slim hope of still being able to play this BurgerTime cart?
  13. Apologies for the bump. This has been on my mind for some time and I've never seen anything that confirms whether a custom cart with this rom is possible. Has anything changed? (Someone awhile back mentioned perhaps it's feasible with the Melody board.) To avoid any legal ramifications, I would even be OK with no decals on the cart. (Until it finds its way to my home that is. )
  14. Seems like there's so many different issues with Yars' Return, even if people can actually switch the PCB around to play it, I've pretty much lost interest in this and regret ever ordering it.
  15. Yep, I mentioned earlier I had the exact same problem. After shrink wrapping it super tight, they pack it in a nice well-protected box to ensure it safely arrives damaged! I sort of debated returning it right then and there. Little did I know at that point about the extra special surprise in store for me before I tried to play the thing.
  16. As I mentioned in another thread, my Yars' Return was also shrink wrapped so tight it left a dent in the box. So that was disappointing, but little did I know that was about to be the least of my problems.
  17. Thanks for the heads up on the SEs. Also - this is the first time I didn't see Jon toss a manual.
  18. My Yars' Return arrived today and... it won't play. Tried it in both my 2600 and 7800. Curious if anyone else has a problem? (To add insult to injury, the box has a dent in it from what seems like it was shrink wrapped too tight.)
  19. I'm considering buying a 5200 trak-ball, but would first like to know if the controller will even fit in the space where I'm planning on keeping it. Would anyone be able to share the length/depth/height? Thanks!
  20. I added the 5200 to my collection a few years ago primarily because I'm a fan of Adventure and I bought the 5200's Adventure II. (Big Sexy is wearing a dustcover to complement her large build and is situated toward the left.) For the longest time I looked for some stylish way to store my 5200 carts, but couldn't find anything. Finally I said screw it and made custom cases for all my games.
  21. Thanks BIGHMW. It's a 4-port. I've had my 2600 for decades, but recently added a 5200 after my wife permitted me to turn a junk room into an Atari lounge.
  22. I'm considering buying a 5200 trak-ball, but I remember having all the typical issues with the standard controllers when I first bought my system a few years ago. I'm thinking about one that's been well preserved in its original box. Just wondering if I should expect oxidation and other issues that are common with the joystick controller? Will the Start/Pause/Reset buttons likely not work? How about the keypad? (Although I probably won't really be using that with the trak-ball games.)
  23. Since about a week has passed I just thought I would check it again. Exact same issue with all four controllers. But I noticed if a game allows me to start with the fire button, it's at least playable and I can confirm the joystick and both fire buttons still work. Start/Pause/Reset and the keypad still do not respond... unless I play the exact same game rom on the Atarimax cartridge!
